- Let's take a look at the latest Pandory V2 A500 Mini hack. We look at menus, features, games and interfaces. I'm scratching the surface at what Panodry is capabale of so stay tuned for updated episodes on this.

Here is a summary of what Pandory V2 contains from the official website:
Support for firmware 1.1.1
You no longer need to hold back the firmware update to keep compatibility with Pandory500.
host-run not required. We prefer host-rum! Grog! Grog! Grog!
For optimal compatibility please upgrade to firmware 1.1.1: teampandory.com/fw111. The earlier 1.0.0 firmware has buggy libraries and poor joystick support.
Warning: ensure you use a good quality usb stick, power-supply and disconnect all non-essential devices before upgrading your firmware. Please be aware that some addons requiring host-run functionality may cease to function. Aminimiga and AGS addons are known to be compatible with the new firmware.
NATIVE (non-libretro) emulators for optimal memory usage and speed:
OpenBOR for beat-em-ups
PPSSPP for Playstation Portable games (much faster than the libretro psp cores)
Dreamcast/Naomi and Atomiswave via Flycast standalone (faster than libretro)

Thanks girl I bought and firmware upgraded TheA500mini this summer but somehow missed the news that there is Pandory that works with latest official firmware.
TheA500mini now is without doubt the ultimate party machine for us 40somethings.
Old guy here still a gamer and proud. I had a Spectrum in the 80’s and loved it, a did progress on to an Amiga and loved that equally as much. I’m enjoying this whole scene of old systems emulation. To combine the A500 with this software should give you a great set up, definitely giving this one a try. Great channel, thanks for your work 👍🏻

Recent flea market find for PS2, the Worms 3D for 3 Euros, has manual as well. Was interested to see how it compares with the Amiga Worms version I have (CU Amiga coverdisk version from the 90's), and I must say, I like the Amiga version more. But pretty rare here to find any PS2 games for 3 Euros, and I like the fun sounding music in it.

Doesn't plaster absorbs humidity, moister?. Is that a good fit for a room that will have electronics and other stuff?. Or will it have a coat of paint?.

Seems fine so far, it's only a soft mod but then I tend not to play around with some of the config apps but just play some more games. (Dreamcast being one of them)

The 2nd controller isn't recognised and selections/actions are all on the one controller

Fantastic video, but I have an issue since I installed Pandory on the A500 mini.
2 Players games are impossible to play solo, reason is it will always start player 2 when I press the right button. :/
And this happens in every 2 players game.
Any tricks around that ? I heard there was an update but its still a work in progress and it seems I'm the only one having this issue. Help !
That outrun on the psp is not running buttery smooth at all, it's running below 30fps that's why the sound is messed up. Whenever it gets to 30 the sound is fine too.
This will transform for many people their A500 mini from "Another !"·$% for the drawer", to "OMG i need more of this!" ;-)

Does it work with thee latest firmware? I am thinking of getting one. I use Batocera for my retro but the computer is not powerful enough to do PS1 and above. Mainly arcade and 16 bit.
Is it possible to use other controllers on the A500 Mini, so that you can use an actual analog stick in systems like the PSP, Dreamcast and PS1?
It's possible .I use wireless PS3 cheap PC controller and it works:)
DOS games do not seem to update ??? Nor the Amstrad CPC I added
ZX Spectrum games need keyboard, but it is not recognized.
ST games do not start --- maybe TOS problem ?

Wow !. This is SENSATIONAL !. 👏👏 Who had thought that playing/emulate Gen. 5 consoles (other than the "CD32") on this little novelty made mini "Amiga", ever would be possible ?!!. Not me at least, that´s for sure ! (last time i checked, the homebrew scene for my "C64 Mini" was second to none. So i figured these types of pre-millennial, home computer´s emulation S O C in general, was not a favorite among the homebrewing communities). Anyway, as i understood it, in the beginning, it was not even obvious if the "A500 mini" would be able to handle the complete "CD32" game library fluently, or not (but compatibility with both the 500, and the 600, AND THE 1200 models [!], were indeed not a bad selling point in itself i mean, so..) 🤓. For me, The Amiga 500 and Samantha Fox were both in the sector "youngster guy´s hot, hot dreams that will never, ever come true" (But with Windows 95 a fue years later, the Amiga was forever obsolete. And Samantha ?, Well, she eventually came out as a lesbian, then she was forever obsolete too..)
I was thinking, with regards to the Pandory emulation of PS1 and N64 (or future 3DO, Sega Saturn, Atari Jaguar, Neo geo or Laseractive ?): Am i right that there is no way to use the analogue sticks if i choose to try a such controller ?.
And, is it possible to use controller/keyboard/mouse, WIRELESS on the A500 mini ?. On the standard system, the Pandory or both ?. Is there any recommended models to considering ?.
Also: "Pandory vs official firmware updates". What do i do if an O F W update is ready to install (and how do i even know when that happens ?) when my system runs on Pandory ?.

Yes
There were two problems with that Out Run 2006 footage. One, it was stuck at 20FPS for most of the time. And two, you didn't choose Magical Sound Shower to drive to :D
Hi Andrew. These issues go away when the console is switched to 60hz mode. We’ll try and make the console autoswitch in a future release. In 60hz mode it’s possible to get mostly a constant 30fps and several games run at a steady 60fps.

Off topic and a noob question to anyone who knows... I just got myself a full set for the A500 mini but seems to have problems finding any info on how to change the disk during gameplay. As i said i have tried to google it and funny enough my A500 mmini came without the manual (allthough it was brand new, i guess it's a regional thing?). Sorr for asking this here but i'm really trying to finally play Maniac Mansion on the Amiga. Cheers!
Loads games too slow. Wouldnt exit the megadrive emulator runnng cave story. I know you say its great but for me its troublesome at times. Got the C64 running okay, but the onscreen keyboard does not pause the game. Too many control issues. Maybe the standard amiga mini pad would work better? I'd like it to be better than retropie but there's too many issues for me.
unfortunately no dreamcast rom or iso works for me. Ironically, the bios all start from this console but every time I try to start a game it says: unknown game😔😔😔😔
The sound issue is the Amiga 500 mini not being powerful enough to emulate the psp properly. For consiles like PSP, Dreamcast, Nintendo 64 you need a dedicated graphics card.
Hi Walter. The sound issue is present on the PSP emulator if the console is running in 50hz mode. Switching it to 60hz gets you very acceptable performance and sound on a wide range of games.
Lol you don't need a dedicated graphics card - you obviously haven't got one running pandory 😋

Hello I can't add roms I'm on MacBook Pro M1 and I can't see anything apart from 4 files 2 txt 1 une and 1LHA if you knew how to make a tuto to explain how to do it on Mac Ventura, a big thank you in advance to everyone.
Pandory mod is great and all, but seeing as my a500mini won't turn off after selecting to shut down in the carousel when using it, it's sadly a no-go for me. I won't risk damaging the hardware. I'll just use the a500mini as is.
Does Pandora allow me to use aftermarket controllers?
It supports pretty much anything that the underlying linux can detect and, if it's not recognised as a controller, can be remapped as one.
I press the start button and nothing happens my firmware is 1.1.1
choose the Pandory folder and start Pandory NO nothing happens there must be a secret missing file

At what point does the A500 stop being an Amiga.
We have a few users only using Pandory not to get access too other emulators, but rather to the upgraded Amiberry 5 emulator, which gives them two years of amiga-emulation bugfixes over the stock firmware, so it actually makes it more of an Amiga 🙂. We have also had requests that Amiberry be startable directly from a whdload file, which we will try to implement in the next update if this is something that could be useful for you.
Pandory V1 was way too buggy, I'll give V2 a chance, thanks 👍

Pandory V1 has all of the required BIOS already installed. And they are the best versions. This saves a heap of hassle so I would suggest don't update the firmware!
The Amiga mini is just a repackaged Android TV Box, one with far better specs (minus the cute dwarf A500 case) can be found for $40 and is capable of running emulation a million times better!

Yeah but trying to emulate Amiga games is a nightmare. I use Amiga Forver on the PC with no issues. Any other emulator has a lot of issues especially with Android devices.
I use a custom Raspbian image with a Raspberry Pi, its like having a loaded all singing all dancing Amiga, and far faster and more versatile than the Amiga mini.

Does anyone know if it works with the wireless Logitech f710 controller? I'm using that with the C64 for couch gaming. Can you use wireless keyboard?

Oh dear. That outrun game sounds and looks awful on that. It’s struggling to play it, that’s not crispy sound, that’s poor buffering.
Unfortunately the PSP emulator has an issue with the A500 “50hz” setting. Switching it to 60hz fixes the issue.
Sony made a PS1 Mini that had too slow hardware to make PS1 games playable.
Amiga 500 Mini runs Dreamcast games..."Only AMIGA makes it possible".

Hi Alan. Almost all of these issues can be solved by running the console at 60hz instead of 50hz.
