Thanks ladies RIP Dickey Betts he wrote this for his daughter and now jamming with Duane Allman
The fellow playing lead guitar began writing this song while watching his young daughter Jessica running and skipping and generally bouncing around and having fun, he tried to catch the feeling of her activity in a guitar riff...then finished the writing of it later on.

The best jam band in the land! I know you can't do a reaction to it, but you need to listen to The Allman Brothers Band At Fillmore East. It ranks as one of the top live albums of all time!
Your timing couldn't be better for this. Guitarist Dicky Betts just passed away on April 18. He was the one with the white cowboy hat. He was 80 and died of cancer. Other Allman Brothers songs to check out are Whipping Post, Statesboro Blues, One Way Out, Rambling Man and In Memory of Elizabeth Reed.

The Allman Brothers Band was my second concert, back in 1977, seen them a few more times since. And "Jessica" was played at all the shows. A fantastic instrumental song by Dickey Betts and the boys. "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed" is another great instrumental by them.

Dickie Betts just passed away a few weeks ago. I saw the Allman Brothers in 1975 in Oakland when Gregg was seeing Cher. I could see Cher drunk and dancing below where we were sitting near the side of the stage. This band was one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Southern Rock at its best.

Great rock band from the 70's that mixed blues, jazz & country music in their sound. They had lots of great songs such as "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed", "Statesboro Blues", "Whipping Post", "Melissa", "Blue Sky", "Ramblin' Man" etc. "Jessica" is one of my favorites instrumental songs by them. It was written by guitarist Dickey Betts & named after his daughter.

Greg was playing the Hammond Organ the guy on the piano was a studio musician i think anyway that was the late great Dicky Betts on lead guitar.Lulu is so funny with her hair comments lol.great song and reaction😂

Saw them a few times through the years. The Beacon, Rutgers and a few others. Dickey was great.
If it wasn't for the Allman Brothers, so much of the music we hear today would not exist. They completely created the "southern rock" genre and influenced so many others.

In my humble opinion, not before or since has rock witnessed a more lethal twin guitar attack, or maybe assault is a better descriptor, than that of Duane 'Skydog' Allman and Forrest Richard 'Dickey' Betts. The two of them together in the same band on dual lead guitar actually wasn't fair to other bands of that era. It doesn't get more technically proficient at every instrument than the ABB!

Saw them in San Francisco in 74 or 75. They were about as good as it gets live. They just about blew the roof off of the place. Jessica was always such a mood lifter, it was time to get up and boogie when the Allman Brothers came on the radio. R I P Dickie, thanks for the licks.
