There was always a bunch of waves on the water and ALL seven of them have to be on the same boat so they stay together so I don’t blame them for not being able to escape.
@@stevehoward3541 Yeah, Dawn Wells made cute facial expressions like that a _lot_ on the show. Like in that episode "The Postman Cometh" Gilligan leaves the screen to deliver a message in a bottle and she does this quirky gritted-teeth smile with her eyes momentarily widening.
Simpler times because back then they did not have looking at updates and texts, etc on your cell phone or looking at and updating Facebook. Instant reply, instant reply, instant reply, causes stress and thus less simpler times.

I just LOVE " Gilligan's Island" with all its characters played so well. There's never a dull momment. Each episode is a gem of expressive, humerous acting and each character comes across so well.So happy was able to connect again after many years.
Damn I'd give anything to go back in time and watch all of the episodes again. I'd do it by DVD or VHS now but back in times one place boss wouldn't find me lol
Here's a fun fantasy: "Gunsmoke" essentially led to "Gilligan's" cancellation. Well, imagine if the 4th season of "Gilligan's" HAD been filmed but not aired -- just stored away in a CBS TV vault. One day, a cleaning person, dusting off the shelves in said vault, comes across the 4th season -- and alerts the executives. At that point, the 4th season is put on DVD, and the TV bigwigs announce to the world that the "lost" season is now available for purchase: 25 (or however many) never-before-seen episodes! Yes -- never-before-seen! People, you know how some fanatics will spend an entire night in line (sleep on the sidewalk) as to be able to get into, say, a music concert (like the late-Michael Jackson's or whoever's); well, I'd be willing to do likewise (at Walmart or equivalent) as to be one of the first to get my hands on this treasure! I mean, to be able to enjoy 25 brand-new episodes -- holy Moses, would this be special! PS: I once saw an interview wherein the great Bob Denver said that producer Sherwood Schwartz showed him some of the scripts for the 4th season, the ones never filmed, of course. Denver said that the episodes were "wild." Damn! How I wish they had been filmed! And, pursuant the fantasy above, I'd move like gangbusters to get ahold of a DVD copy!
azure rainbow I admit at the end, after Gilligan blows up the lie detector, I thought it should still have had enough juice left to turn green when he admits the stolen pies were delicious. Cuz that WOULD be true, lol!
Russell Johnson was incredibly underrated on Gilligan's Island. He had the most difficult role with so many scientific facts to know and he had to deliver his lines perfectly to be believable
When we were kids we wanted them.. to get off the island now that we're older and depressed getting stuck on that Island would be a dream vacation !!😭😭

Were you glad that the lie detector exploded when Gilligan was sitting in it while he was asked by Mary Ann about 2 pies she made which had disappeared before finding out Gilligan saw them, took them and ate them?
Too bad the Professor didn't bother to rebuild the lie detector after Gilligan made it explode with Mary Ann in front of him. Good that the explosion wasn't big enough to make Mary Ann's face get dirty or she would've gone mad.
Gilligan's Island is one of the few shows that's laugh our loud funny and is still funny even if you've seen it many times before. Bewitched and Seinfeld are like that too. Most shows like I Dream of Jeanie or Get Smart are kind of funny the first time, but boring if you've seen them before.
It's always interesting to see how they would go a little step beyond, Mary Ann asks Gilligan about the pie, he says it was delicious, and it lights green for truth. Just fun to see, even with the goofs that pop up, how they would go forward in other areas.
Russel Johnson once said about fixing the boat "If you were shipwrecked on an island with Ginger and Mary Ann, would you want to fix the boat?" (Yes, professor. I'd miss my coffee and I don't lean that way).
I always thought Mary-Ann and Gilligan made a cute couple. Everything she made he ate it without any complaints. Right here just provided how much he loved her cooking.
Can you do a Gilligan's Island The Lie Detector video on RUclips where Mary Ann walks in and interrogates him about pies and Gilligan lies about the pies and burns out The Professor's Lie Detector machine

I love it how they can build highly advanced technical gadgets, but they can't just build a boat to get out.

RageJoona yes they can build anything out of bamboo and coconuts except a way off the island.

It is a better, funnier show then anything written today. They didn't worry about being woke at all, and that is so refreshing.
I love how Gilligan jumps every time the lie detector beeps and how he plays with it asking silly questions. He's such a cutie.
RIP Mary Ann ;-; such a sweet lady
Yes she didn't get the credit she deserved. She was very cute with her reactions to Giligan lying about the pies she made.
