Character Development Ideas: Well, for starters, when it comes to his development as a character I think it's very important to write a story that would make him learn that not everything can be fixed by travelling through time, and that instead of constantly trying to go back into the past, Silver should stay in the future and fight his own demons. There could also be development about his situation in the future, considering we always see him alone in there, there are high implications that Silver is lonely and can't really find a place for himself in the futuristic world, which is why he is always travelling to the past. Silver's lore: When it comes to lore I think it would be interesting to add characters such as Gold The Tenrec(from Archie comics) and Dr. Von Schlemmer(originally from Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog but remade for the archie comics), as they could add a lot of world bulding to Silver, since him and eggman nega are the only characters we know from the future, introducing these two would expand what we know from Silver's future, and would make us understand why Silver is always trying to keep said future safe. Silver's past: As for Silver's story, more specifically his past, I think he could very well be a Hedgehog that was created in a laboratory by a Misterious Biologic Engineer, but he doesn't know that because his memories were wiped as he was considered a "failed experiment", he could even find other characters that were failed experiments too, and help them find a place in the world like he has been trying. Also, considering his symbols and golden bracelets, it would be interesting if he was created using the Ancient's technology as a base. Silver's antagonists gallery: As for villains, I have some reworked ideas, maybe I might talk about the original villains I have in mind when I am little more confident in their writting, now first of all Neo Metal Sonic and Sage: We could have Neo Metal Sonic officially assuming his place as Eggman's sucessor, an Older version of Sage could be a wild card, as she would be on Neo's side, but would be far more willing to work alongside Silver than Neo. Neo would pretty much fill the role of the "recorrent villain", the one that keeps the hero busy when there is not much else going on. Infinite: Infinite also could be included, his powers and silver's powers always felt more fitting as rivals than infinite with sonic, and considering he is currently stuck in the phantom ruby, having him only managing to find a way out of it 200 years in the future would allow him a lot of time to think, learn, and change as character, his approach could be far more threatining than it used to be, he could develop natural illusion powers after being exposed to the ruby's energy for so long(that could even be an excuse to give him a little redesign) to the point where he no longer needs it, althought by having it his powers would gain a super form level of boost. He would act as a villain that would constantly try to play with Silver's mind, being able to use his long lost memories and traumas against him through the power of illusions, thus representing a psychological threat more than a physical one, kinda like the Scarecrow. The End: I think Frontiers kind of wasted their character, and considering Ian Flyn said we are not seeing the end coming back, it would be interesting if after 200 years The End could come back in a new form, the idea that interests me the most is having The End incarnate as a new being, a Mobian that Silver would befriend, and by passing time with Silver, The End could genuely become more and more doubtful of their objetive of destroying earth, how that would end? Maybe The End would turn into a new leaf, or maybe it would have to sacrifice itself, as it is a being that exists to destroy, the only way to resist it's natural instinct would be to either seal itself, or reincarnate as a new being, though I think the first scenario would make for a more Gut Wrenching story. Little extra: Silver, Gold and Professor Von Schlemmer would together be called "Team Hope", to fit with Sonic's "Team Heroes" and Shadow's "Team Dark".

Since you put Neo as Eggman’s succesor, I figured I'd ask (though I do like the duality of Neo and Sage as Robotnik's kids: one is Eggman’s ambition and desire for conquest, the other is his humanity and willingness to see the bigger picture and put grudges and ambition aside when necessary.) Also Shadow; Shadow’s kinda immortal, right? So would he be in this future world or out of the picture for some reason? where would he be? What would he be doing? I once saw a character video where Shadow could be Silver's mentor in the future due to him being immortal, kinda like in 06 for a level. Something like that, maybe?
@@JamesERoach Eggman Nega is from Silver's future, but the reason why he is one of the main antagonists in the Rush games is that he wanted the sol emeralds and the scepter because, let's say that for unkown reasons the chaos emeralds dissapeared in Silver's timeline, though currently he probably is stuck with Ifrit. Eggman Nega is from Maria's side of the family, but even though they are from the same family, he and neo(and sage) never worked together due to "creative differences". Eggman nega was always too extreme with his plans, constantly risking the very world he was suposed to conquer, Sage found his methods to be too careless and Neo didn't want to share his father's legacy with someone from "that side of the family". As for Shadow, I think he is already probably doing well enough in the past with his own stories and putting him in Silver's would take the spotlight from him. I prefer giving the mentor role to professor Von Schlemmer, he might act goofy most of the time, but when it's time to get serious, he absolutely nails it, he isn't just the "inspector gadget-like" character, he is the oldest member of Team Hope, and that experiences shines through his character whenever it's needed. As for shadow's whereabouts? If you are to go to a specific G.U.N. base you might find a capsule where he resides, why he was sealed away a second time? Who knows, "where are the chaos emeralds?", "what happened to eggman and sonic?", "why did shadow get sealed away again?", "why can Silver never save his future permanently?", I think having questions like these up in the air is what would keep Silver's future interesting.
I really wonder how Silver's current time travelling situation works. In 06 and Rivals he's from an already ruined future but in Colours DS and now with IDW it's clear that he also knows what a good future is supposed to look like. It raises all sorts of questions like how are Silver's memories affected by the fluid nature of time? How does he witness his era change based on events in the present? Also the Generations rewrite had Sonic mention the Time Stones and seem surprised there were other ways to time travel so I sincerely hope they will be a part of Silver's story from now on.
The Fast. Friends. Forever site actually has (sort of) given an explanation. It only says that mysterious portals appear to Silver whenever the past goes awry. So it seems that in the current timeline, Silver's time travel is not a conscious choice whenever he wants, but a call to action. But I think Sega would rather wait for a full game before explaining it fully
We wondered those same questions too!! We definitely hope they expand upon this in a future game to explain all the time travel. And good point, that Generations rewrite could be a little foreshadowing to some more Silver story in the future.
Pretty sure the reason no one remembers 06 is because Sonic and Elise erased it by snuffing out Solaris. No one else was around to actually experience the change, so they got their memories wiped. That said, characters DO feel deja vu and Blaze and Silver have some interesting interactions in Colors DS where they now meet for the first time.
You know honestly its refreshing to hear someone talk about sonic's future with optimism, usually people are so hopeless about it so im really glad for this video!
In a sense, if Generations were to have Silver’s story, it would technically count as an 06 sequel, both are about time travel, both feature the same main characters, as well as all the returning villains, Eggman’s main goal in both games is to control time, the world is broken by a dark eldritch entity. But I would still like a game set in Silver’s future, as well as another set in Blaze’s world.

Bryce Papenbrook is a fantastic VA as well as an extremely funny and humble guy. His voice combined with Flynn’s writing could give us the best Silver in years.
Here’s what I think for Silver’s year. It’s either gonna be an actual solo game, the rumor 06 remake, or an actual an actual Sonic X Silver Unleashed fans are hoping for. Though I feel the Year of Silver should be in 2026, because that will be the 20th anniversary of 06, and a good time to reintroduce him to new fans, and if we do get him for Sonic 4, depending on the post credits for 3.

Ok, so update on from Sonic 3. Silver was not in the post credits. But in a recent interview, Jeff Fowler said that Silver is under consideration. So we still have a chance to see our boy in the next movie, or possibly next show if they go through with the Knuckles and Shadow show.

Now talking about a silver game, i dont think having it take place before/during 06 would be ideal since those versions of silver and blaze possibly got wiped. In my opinion a silver game should take place during frontiers to get sonic out of the picture. As for setting possibilities include silvers future, sonics present and blazes dimension. For characters obviously silver and blaze however, if they include sonics present they could have shadow play a mentor role for silver again. TBH the possibilities are endless!
Ooo we love that!! A Silver game during Frontiers would be a great way to get Sonic and the classic gang out the picture. And a game in Blaze’s dimension would be amazing, especially since we’ve barely been able to really explore its potential. And YES Shadow as a mentor would be sick! We always had this thought that since Shadow is the Ultimate Life Form his lifespan is probably a lot longer than everyone else’s. So if we got a Silver game that takes place in the future, it would be cool seeing Shadow still alive and as this wise and elusive legend.
Is he though? He's a hedgehog that doesn't have a main game and people still love him. Especially after idw people saw the potential of this character after making him more of a lovable dork then a blunt, don't give a fuck about your feelings attitude in rivals 2. They completely switched his attitude which I am in favor for. Good to see more people liking the character. But I don't think he's underrated but definitely doesn't have the popularity of sonic or shadow. That's something that can be fix with one solid, polish and fun game with his gameplay.
As someone whose favorite character is Silver (I even made a Silver cosplay) this would be a dream come true. In spite of 06's flaws, I really liked Silver's character arc. It's a shame the time reset means it can't be built off of so we just have Silver as a somewhat rude but very empathetic time traveler. Even in his new origin in Rivals, it doesn't really do much other than let him meet Sonic. He grows nicer by meeting Espio in the next game, meets Blaze for a second time in Sweet Mountain, and that's it. I'd like to see something that, just like how Shadow Generations reestablished his character development in 06 for the new timeline, goes into Silver's personality and gives a new character development arc. And this time, work out all the issues 06 had with his gameplay.
All that right there is what we call perfection!! We really hope they expand on Silver's character more like they did with Shadow this year, especially if that means we get a cool Silver animation like Dark Beginnings.

I really cannot tell you guys how much I love Silver as a character and how much he means to me. Silver got done so dirty thanks to 06 sadly, but from every other Sonic character, he more than deserves the same treatment Shadow got this year! Silver has big potential and Sega needs to realize that, that is why I will never shut up about Silver, and it brings a huge smile to my face knowing that I am not alone in that case. I personally think 2025 being Blaze the Cat's year would make more sense since this year is also Sonic Rush's 20th anniversary but it would be cool to give Silver some more attention
I actually have ideas of my own for a Silver the Hedgehog game. I definitely think Sonic Team will reuse the open-zone for Silver the Hedgehog, as it would definitely complement the more puzzle focused levels Silver had in 2006. For a supporting cast, Blaze and the Chaotix would definitely be included as they have the closest affiliation with Silver, and maybe even include IDW characters like Tangle and Whisper. And they could all be playable alongside him. As for a new villain, maybe Sonic Team could take inspiration from Marvel’s Kang the Conqueror as someone who time-travels.
Funny thing about kang, it is hinted tgat he is the son of doom, but he also for a time went by the name of Franklin Richards (reed's father), but doom also a has a thing for reed's daughter in some stories (freaky ahh)
One of the most unique powers in the Sonic Universe honestly. With how diverse they made Sonic's moveset in Frontiers, just imagine how insane Silver's could be! In the comics he's basically carrying the team half the time he's just so dope!
Silver is pretty much the anti-Shadow when you think about it. He's hopeful, optimistic, bright and candid, but that doesn't prevent him from being cool as a classic hero trope. He's even more the classic hero than Sonic is. He's constantly looking toward the future despite the fact he ironically didn't have a future anymore contrary to Shadow who is constantly tormented by his past, is much darker, aloof and cold. I'm pretty sure he's been written to be the opposite of Shadow to give more diversity to the cast. Also they're black and white. Sonic is pretty much the middle-ground, not too dark, not too bright. So we need the third hedgehog to get the relevance in the franchise he deserves for so long now.
@@kyurei4478 We feel the same! In 06 he was really portrayed to be this lighter but opposite reflection of Shadow. Their interactions with each other always felt so natural as if Shadow could see some of himself in Silver. Despite what we say in the video, of Silver not being this super hero like Sonic, we definitely still feel he indeed portrays classic hero traits. His positivity, his light, his simplicity in doing what’s right for the sake of it being right. He’s also a lot less cocky then Sonic for sure lol although he’ll still have that arrogance from time to time like we see in 06. As you say, he was written to pair perfectly with Sonic and Shadow, creating a nice complete feel of personalities. So he desperately needs his return to relevance!!
@DevieDarx Indeed. It sounds like fan theory but I would actually find it super interesting if we would discover in an hypothetical Silver the Hedgehog game that Silver is the descendent of Shadow. But it would be a big truth Silver would keep to himself and only the players and him would know cause it could change the future otherwise. He could be of Sonic instead but I find Shadow more interesting because they're very different (if we keep the inspiration from Dragon Ball Z, Vegeta would also be Shadow and Trunks Silver so dad and son when Goku would be Sonic). That could also bring a new perspective on Shadow's character even if this link would never be revealed to him. Only Silver would know. There is still so many great things they could do with Silver cause they left him on stand by since then. Yeah that's also what I meant. He isn't the super hero cause obviously Sonic is the main character but he falls more into the classic hero trope. Yeah but I would say his arrogance doesn't come from the same place as Sonic but more from the fact he would be the lawful hero I feel like. Arrogance of the supposedly chosen one if you will. Yeah and I think he would bring a better and more direct opposition to Shadow than Sonic by bringing this lawful and noble hero side on the front. I mean, some don't like the too perfect hero side but not everyone likes the too edgy hero style either. You need something for everyone and Sonic fills more the role of the neutral hero in that regard.

I really do hope that Silver's future gets fleshed out, now that, according to the IDW comics, his future has been saved. Here's hoping we get a Blaze centered game as well, because man, the Sol Dimension needs to be fleshed out more. Also, your guys' other videos need more attention. I really hope that a Year of Silver and him getting his own game does happen because in these recent years Silver has joined Sonic and Shadow as the third one of my favorite Sonic characters (I like all of those 3 characters in an equal big amount) I think that you might be a bit wrong about SEGA not remaking 06 because it's already been revealed that this year the producer of the original 06 game said that he wants an opportunity to remake that game. So we could eventually get an officially licensed Sonic 06 remake from that company that hopefully gets made more like what the original version of it was supposed to be made like, instead of only a sequel to that game. It's a good idea because even though Chaos X has been making P-06 not everyone who wants to, can offord to buy a strong enough PC to play that impressive fanmade remake on, or already has one to play it on. I'd like to read those IDW comics but I don't think that I can afford to buy all of them so I've made a plan to try to use the new gaming laptop that I will start to have use of in a few weeks, to see if I can read those comics digitally because it won't cost any money to read them if I can read them that way.
Our top 3 favorite Sonic characters are Sonic, Shadow, and Silver too!! And yeah we heard what the 06 producer said; we would be very hyped for an official remake of 06 too. Anything to get Silver back in the spotlight. And that's a really good point, Chaos X's remake, while awesome, does require a stronger pc that not everyone has. We would love a full remake and a sequel of 06 if possible lol. And yaaay we hope you get to enjoy the IDW comics soon!! There are a bunch of fan dubs for the comics on RUclips and a lot of them are high quality, so that's an option too.
@DevieDarx Sonic X Shadow Generations was proof they could have done something cool! I was disappointed to not see an Infinite boss, but if they remake/remaster forces I would buy it! They could fix all the characters (infinite included) and possibly make one of the greatest stories in the franchise!
I always headcanon'd that a Silver game could be titled "Silver the Hedgehog: Odd Future". Over the course of the game, Silver is slowly regaining his memories of the erased events of 06. Silver has to deal with the consequences of time travelling so frequently. See how he actually experiences the changes he brings about to his future. We maybe even get to see how he's so powerful, why he actually makes Shadow try a little bit, where exactly his powers come from.
They were always hinting to sonic 06, i feel like silver having so many loopholes in his time travel warrent for a game to explain atleast some of em. Like, does his future go from bright and happy then get the metallic grass thing instantly? If it’s fixed forever, then why does he go back? If not, i would just leave that future and go to a different universe at that point, literally every sunday would become a firey hell, the coldest place on earth, flooded, run by robots, overgrown, etc
Silver's my favorite character, so of course I need a game for him. Not even just an 06 remake, just something about him. Remember, the year of Shadow only really happened because he was going to be in a movie, and with the rumor (?) that the movie studios is interested in Silver, that is the best possible chance to get the same. Of course, my dream Sonic game is a Silver game with Espio and Blaze as support, similar to how Heroes and 06 had teams of 3, but in the Frontiers/Shadow generations style, and carrying over Silver's telekinesis gameplay from 06 (that was perfected with P--6)
As they did for Shadow during the year of Sonic The Hedgehog 3/Movie 3. Now it very looks like movie 4 is going to be like the OVA/Sonic Hereoes. Neo-Metal Sonic, Amy, Shadow returning. Maybe some terminator type story with Robotropolis and/or a fake eggman (maybe Jim Carrey just voices him). But the point is they can very easily leave it open to Silver arriving and doing Mephiles in the fifth film, though they could skip 3/4 of what I just speculated and go right to it. I think they will want to see if it really works though so I truly hope he can get his own limelight. Like just because Sonic 06' was a messy and people really hated a certain scene it doesn't make Silver any less cool he's got this whole kyle reese/john connor from terminator or even future trunks from dragon ball z/super going on but still with his own personality. Another comparison is Sailor Cosmos from PRetty guardian sailor moon, 90's or the new film both of which were recieved quite well. I hope they truly give Silver the chance he deserves to have a game focused around him and in the films too.

I've always been a Sonic fan but I've just recently been getting back into the franchise & exploring it in more depth than ever. One of the first things I heard about was how much fans hate Sonic 06 for its janky game mechanics, so I automatically thought it was just a bad game. Then on a random whim, I decided to watch a youtube video summarizing its story, and I was legitimately shocked at how complex and interesting it was - especially the time travel aspect with Silver. It still has its.. questionable parts (that weird romance with Elise should've never happened), and the overall execution was undeniably sloppy, but the potential was there. I loved and still love the idea of so many characters being playable, and I think that's the #1 thing that should be brought back in this modern Sonic renaissance era, especially if the games are becoming lore-centric again. A story has so much more depth when it's being depicted from multiple perspectives. Combine that with high quality cut-scenes, a killer soundtrack, and *most* importantly - polished gameplay mechanics to tie everything together, we'll finally have achieved PEAK. Anyway, if Sega's next project is truly what Sonic 06 failed to be, given the last few releases we've been getting, I'm optimistic.

It baffles me when the companies that are responsible for the creation of these fictional universes don't make full effort to stick to its own lore and stray off which in a long running brand/IP/series, it can really ruin the overall direction of character design and writing as well as the writing for plots. Clearly when they are on the same page, they pump out fantastic content. You start to feel the care and passion vs just throwing shit at a wall hoping it spits out money.
Just give us Silver and Blaze teaming up to kick Eggman Nega's butt across space-time and we're good. Also, I don't think Blaze was ever actually part of the future in 06. I think she just got transported there due to the Sol Emeralds or Jeweled Scepter and just decided to stay with Silver to help him out. It's not like she actually got a chance to interact with the other characters. Silver's first canonical meeting with everyone in the new timeline was in Rivals and his first meeting with Blaze happened in Colors DS. They even have deja vu around each other.

Think of how many anniversaries we are going to be having next coming years? Sonic Rush will have their 20th anniversary with Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Gems. Sonic 06’s 20th anniversary is in 2026. The list may go on from here in this decade.
If the Sonic 4 Movie ever does get officially announced for filming after Sonic 3 and we get a Silver post credit scene, I can see SEGA doing a Year of Silver in 2026 and just like Shadow, becoming a relevant character we care about once again. Everything from Personality, Story and Gameplay.

Okay, here it goes.
Character Development Ideas:
Well, for starters, when it comes to his development as a character I think it's very important to write a story that would make him learn that not everything can be fixed by travelling through time, and that instead of constantly trying to go back into the past, Silver should stay in the future and fight his own demons. There could also be development about his situation in the future, considering we always see him alone in there, there are high implications that Silver is lonely and can't really find a place for himself in the futuristic world, which is why he is always travelling to the past.
Silver's lore:
When it comes to lore I think it would be interesting to add characters such as Gold The Tenrec(from Archie comics) and Dr. Von Schlemmer(originally from Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog but remade for the archie comics), as they could add a lot of world bulding to Silver, since him and eggman nega are the only characters we know from the future, introducing these two would expand what we know from Silver's future, and would make us understand why Silver is always trying to keep said future safe.
Silver's past:
As for Silver's story, more specifically his past, I think he could very well be a Hedgehog that was created in a laboratory by a Misterious Biologic Engineer, but he doesn't know that because his memories were wiped as he was considered a "failed experiment", he could even find other characters that were failed experiments too, and help them find a place in the world like he has been trying. Also, considering his symbols and golden bracelets, it would be interesting if he was created using the Ancient's technology as a base.
Silver's antagonists gallery:
As for villains, I have some reworked ideas, maybe I might talk about the original villains I have in mind when I am little more confident in their writting, now first of all
Neo Metal Sonic and Sage:
We could have Neo Metal Sonic officially assuming his place as Eggman's sucessor, an Older version of Sage could be a wild card, as she would be on Neo's side, but would be far more willing to work alongside Silver than Neo. Neo would pretty much fill the role of the "recorrent villain", the one that keeps the hero busy when there is not much else going on.
Infinite:
Infinite also could be included, his powers and silver's powers always felt more fitting as rivals than infinite with sonic, and considering he is currently stuck in the phantom ruby, having him only managing to find a way out of it 200 years in the future would allow him a lot of time to think, learn, and change as character, his approach could be far more threatining than it used to be, he could develop natural illusion powers after being exposed to the ruby's energy for so long(that could even be an excuse to give him a little redesign) to the point where he no longer needs it, althought by having it his powers would gain a super form level of boost. He would act as a villain that would constantly try to play with Silver's mind, being able to use his long lost memories and traumas against him through the power of illusions, thus representing a psychological threat more than a physical one, kinda like the Scarecrow.
The End:
I think Frontiers kind of wasted their character, and considering Ian Flyn said we are not seeing the end coming back, it would be interesting if after 200 years The End could come back in a new form, the idea that interests me the most is having The End incarnate as a new being, a Mobian that Silver would befriend, and by passing time with Silver, The End could genuely become more and more doubtful of their objetive of destroying earth, how that would end? Maybe The End would turn into a new leaf, or maybe it would have to sacrifice itself, as it is a being that exists to destroy, the only way to resist it's natural instinct would be to either seal itself, or reincarnate as a new being, though I think the first scenario would make for a more Gut Wrenching story.
Little extra:
Silver, Gold and Professor Von Schlemmer would together be called "Team Hope", to fit with Sonic's "Team Heroes" and Shadow's "Team Dark".

Kinda wondering about Eggman Nega though; is he from Silver's future or Blaze's dimension in this design of yours? Since you put Neo as Eggman’s succesor, I figured I'd ask (though I do like the duality of Neo and Sage as Robotnik's kids: one is Eggman’s ambition and desire for conquest, the other is his humanity and willingness to see the bigger picture and put grudges and ambition aside when necessary.)
Also Shadow; Shadow’s kinda immortal, right? So would he be in this future world or out of the picture for some reason? where would he be? What would he be doing?
I once saw a character video where Shadow could be Silver's mentor in the future due to him being immortal, kinda like in 06 for a level. Something like that, maybe?

Eggman Nega is from Silver's future, but the reason why he is one of the main antagonists in the Rush games is that he wanted the sol emeralds and the scepter because, let's say that for unkown reasons the chaos emeralds dissapeared in Silver's timeline, though currently he probably is stuck with Ifrit.
Eggman Nega is from Maria's side of the family, but even though they are from the same family, he and neo(and sage) never worked together due to "creative differences". Eggman nega was always too extreme with his plans, constantly risking the very world he was suposed to conquer, Sage found his methods to be too careless and Neo didn't want to share his father's legacy with someone from "that side of the family".
As for Shadow, I think he is already probably doing well enough in the past with his own stories and putting him in Silver's would take the spotlight from him. I prefer giving the mentor role to professor Von Schlemmer, he might act goofy most of the time, but when it's time to get serious, he absolutely nails it, he isn't just the "inspector gadget-like" character, he is the oldest member of Team Hope, and that experiences shines through his character whenever it's needed. As for shadow's whereabouts? If you are to go to a specific G.U.N. base you might find a capsule where he resides, why he was sealed away a second time? Who knows, "where are the chaos emeralds?", "what happened to eggman and sonic?", "why did shadow get sealed away again?", "why can Silver never save his future permanently?", I think having questions like these up in the air is what would keep Silver's future interesting.
I really wonder how Silver's current time travelling situation works. In 06 and Rivals he's from an already ruined future but in Colours DS and now with IDW it's clear that he also knows what a good future is supposed to look like. It raises all sorts of questions like how are Silver's memories affected by the fluid nature of time? How does he witness his era change based on events in the present? Also the Generations rewrite had Sonic mention the Time Stones and seem surprised there were other ways to time travel so I sincerely hope they will be a part of Silver's story from now on.
The Fast. Friends. Forever site actually has (sort of) given an explanation. It only says that mysterious portals appear to Silver whenever the past goes awry. So it seems that in the current timeline, Silver's time travel is not a conscious choice whenever he wants, but a call to action. But I think Sega would rather wait for a full game before explaining it fully
We wondered those same questions too!! We definitely hope they expand upon this in a future game to explain all the time travel. And good point, that Generations rewrite could be a little foreshadowing to some more Silver story in the future.

Pretty sure the reason no one remembers 06 is because Sonic and Elise erased it by snuffing out Solaris. No one else was around to actually experience the change, so they got their memories wiped.
That said, characters DO feel deja vu and Blaze and Silver have some interesting interactions in Colors DS where they now meet for the first time.
Hmm what if it turns out that at some point in the future Sonic is mutated into Silver and loses his memories of being Sonic....

In a sense, if Generations were to have Silver’s story, it would technically count as an 06 sequel, both are about time travel, both feature the same main characters, as well as all the returning villains, Eggman’s main goal in both games is to control time, the world is broken by a dark eldritch entity.
But I would still like a game set in Silver’s future, as well as another set in Blaze’s world.

Bryce Papenbrook is a fantastic VA as well as an extremely funny and humble guy. His voice combined with Flynn’s writing could give us the best Silver in years.
Here’s what I think for Silver’s year. It’s either gonna be an actual solo game, the rumor 06 remake, or an actual an actual Sonic X Silver Unleashed fans are hoping for.
Though I feel the Year of Silver should be in 2026, because that will be the 20th anniversary of 06, and a good time to reintroduce him to new fans, and if we do get him for Sonic 4, depending on the post credits for 3.

Now talking about a silver game, i dont think having it take place before/during 06 would be ideal since those versions of silver and blaze possibly got wiped. In my opinion a silver game should take place during frontiers to get sonic out of the picture. As for setting possibilities include silvers future, sonics present and blazes dimension. For characters obviously silver and blaze however, if they include sonics present they could have shadow play a mentor role for silver again. TBH the possibilities are endless!

Ooo we love that!! A Silver game during Frontiers would be a great way to get Sonic and the classic gang out the picture. And a game in Blaze’s dimension would be amazing, especially since we’ve barely been able to really explore its potential. And YES Shadow as a mentor would be sick! We always had this thought that since Shadow is the Ultimate Life Form his lifespan is probably a lot longer than everyone else’s. So if we got a Silver game that takes place in the future, it would be cool seeing Shadow still alive and as this wise and elusive legend.

Is he though? He's a hedgehog that doesn't have a main game and people still love him. Especially after idw people saw the potential of this character after making him more of a lovable dork then a blunt, don't give a fuck about your feelings attitude in rivals 2. They completely switched his attitude which I am in favor for. Good to see more people liking the character. But I don't think he's underrated but definitely doesn't have the popularity of sonic or shadow. That's something that can be fix with one solid, polish and fun game with his gameplay.

As someone whose favorite character is Silver (I even made a Silver cosplay) this would be a dream come true.
In spite of 06's flaws, I really liked Silver's character arc. It's a shame the time reset means it can't be built off of so we just have Silver as a somewhat rude but very empathetic time traveler. Even in his new origin in Rivals, it doesn't really do much other than let him meet Sonic. He grows nicer by meeting Espio in the next game, meets Blaze for a second time in Sweet Mountain, and that's it. I'd like to see something that, just like how Shadow Generations reestablished his character development in 06 for the new timeline, goes into Silver's personality and gives a new character development arc. And this time, work out all the issues 06 had with his gameplay.
All that right there is what we call perfection!! We really hope they expand on Silver's character more like they did with Shadow this year, especially if that means we get a cool Silver animation like Dark Beginnings.

I actually have ideas of my own for a Silver the Hedgehog game. I definitely think Sonic Team will reuse the open-zone for Silver the Hedgehog, as it would definitely complement the more puzzle focused levels Silver had in 2006. For a supporting cast, Blaze and the Chaotix would definitely be included as they have the closest affiliation with Silver, and maybe even include IDW characters like Tangle and Whisper. And they could all be playable alongside him. As for a new villain, maybe Sonic Team could take inspiration from Marvel’s Kang the Conqueror as someone who time-travels.
Funny thing about kang, it is hinted tgat he is the son of doom, but he also for a time went by the name of Franklin Richards (reed's father), but doom also a has a thing for reed's daughter in some stories (freaky ahh)

One of the most unique powers in the Sonic Universe honestly. With how diverse they made Sonic's moveset in Frontiers, just imagine how insane Silver's could be! In the comics he's basically carrying the team half the time he's just so dope!
Silver is pretty much the anti-Shadow when you think about it. He's hopeful, optimistic, bright and candid, but that doesn't prevent him from being cool as a classic hero trope. He's even more the classic hero than Sonic is. He's constantly looking toward the future despite the fact he ironically didn't have a future anymore contrary to Shadow who is constantly tormented by his past, is much darker, aloof and cold.
I'm pretty sure he's been written to be the opposite of Shadow to give more diversity to the cast. Also they're black and white.
Sonic is pretty much the middle-ground, not too dark, not too bright.
So we need the third hedgehog to get the relevance in the franchise he deserves for so long now.
@@kyurei4478 We feel the same! In 06 he was really portrayed to be this lighter but opposite reflection of Shadow. Their interactions with each other always felt so natural as if Shadow could see some of himself in Silver.
Despite what we say in the video, of Silver not being this super hero like Sonic, we definitely still feel he indeed portrays classic hero traits. His positivity, his light, his simplicity in doing what’s right for the sake of it being right. He’s also a lot less cocky then Sonic for sure lol although he’ll still have that arrogance from time to time like we see in 06.
As you say, he was written to pair perfectly with Sonic and Shadow, creating a nice complete feel of personalities. So he desperately needs his return to relevance!!
@DevieDarx Indeed. It sounds like fan theory but I would actually find it super interesting if we would discover in an hypothetical Silver the Hedgehog game that Silver is the descendent of Shadow. But it would be a big truth Silver would keep to himself and only the players and him would know cause it could change the future otherwise. He could be of Sonic instead but I find Shadow more interesting because they're very different (if we keep the inspiration from Dragon Ball Z, Vegeta would also be Shadow and Trunks Silver so dad and son when Goku would be Sonic). That could also bring a new perspective on Shadow's character even if this link would never be revealed to him. Only Silver would know. There is still so many great things they could do with Silver cause they left him on stand by since then.
Yeah that's also what I meant. He isn't the super hero cause obviously Sonic is the main character but he falls more into the classic hero trope. Yeah but I would say his arrogance doesn't come from the same place as Sonic but more from the fact he would be the lawful hero I feel like. Arrogance of the supposedly chosen one if you will.
Yeah and I think he would bring a better and more direct opposition to Shadow than Sonic by bringing this lawful and noble hero side on the front.
I mean, some don't like the too perfect hero side but not everyone likes the too edgy hero style either. You need something for everyone and Sonic fills more the role of the neutral hero in that regard.

Yoooo, more Sonic content! Great video, and man I hope y'all are right! I just really hope that, in general, we get more games focused on the other characters. I really do hope that Silver's future gets fleshed out, now that, according to the IDW comics, his future has been saved. Here's hoping we get a Blaze centered game as well, because man, the Sol Dimension needs to be fleshed out more.

I really hope that a Year of Silver and him getting his own game does happen because in these recent years Silver has joined Sonic and Shadow as the third one of my favorite Sonic characters (I like all of those 3 characters in an equal big amount) I think that you might be a bit wrong about SEGA not remaking 06 because it's already been revealed that this year the producer of the original 06 game said that he wants an opportunity to remake that game. So we could eventually get an officially licensed Sonic 06 remake from that company that hopefully gets made more like what the original version of it was supposed to be made like, instead of only a sequel to that game. It's a good idea because even though Chaos X has been making P-06 not everyone who wants to, can offord to buy a strong enough PC to play that impressive fanmade remake on, or already has one to play it on. I'd like to read those IDW comics but I don't think that I can afford to buy all of them so I've made a plan to try to use the new gaming laptop that I will start to have use of in a few weeks, to see if I can read those comics digitally because it won't cost any money to read them if I can read them that way.
Our top 3 favorite Sonic characters are Sonic, Shadow, and Silver too!! And yeah we heard what the 06 producer said; we would be very hyped for an official remake of 06 too. Anything to get Silver back in the spotlight. And that's a really good point, Chaos X's remake, while awesome, does require a stronger pc that not everyone has. We would love a full remake and a sequel of 06 if possible lol. And yaaay we hope you get to enjoy the IDW comics soon!! There are a bunch of fan dubs for the comics on RUclips and a lot of them are high quality, so that's an option too.

I always headcanon'd that a Silver game could be titled "Silver the Hedgehog: Odd Future". Over the course of the game, Silver is slowly regaining his memories of the erased events of 06. Silver has to deal with the consequences of time travelling so frequently. See how he actually experiences the changes he brings about to his future. We maybe even get to see how he's so powerful, why he actually makes Shadow try a little bit, where exactly his powers come from.
They were always hinting to sonic 06, i feel like silver having so many loopholes in his time travel warrent for a game to explain atleast some of em. Like, does his future go from bright and happy then get the metallic grass thing instantly? If it’s fixed forever, then why does he go back? If not, i would just leave that future and go to a different universe at that point, literally every sunday would become a firey hell, the coldest place on earth, flooded, run by robots, overgrown, etc
I ask myself every day, "Why Silver?" Especially when I see spoons.

Silver's my favorite character, so of course I need a game for him. Not even just an 06 remake, just something about him. Remember, the year of Shadow only really happened because he was going to be in a movie, and with the rumor (?) that the movie studios is interested in Silver, that is the best possible chance to get the same.
Of course, my dream Sonic game is a Silver game with Espio and Blaze as support, similar to how Heroes and 06 had teams of 3, but in the Frontiers/Shadow generations style, and carrying over Silver's telekinesis gameplay from 06 (that was perfected with P--6)

As they did for Shadow during the year of Sonic The Hedgehog 3/Movie 3. Now it very looks like movie 4 is going to be like the OVA/Sonic Hereoes. Neo-Metal Sonic, Amy, Shadow returning. Maybe some terminator type story with Robotropolis and/or a fake eggman (maybe Jim Carrey just voices him). But the point is they can very easily leave it open to Silver arriving and doing Mephiles in the fifth film, though they could skip 3/4 of what I just speculated and go right to it. I think they will want to see if it really works though so I truly hope he can get his own limelight. Like just because Sonic 06' was a messy and people really hated a certain scene it doesn't make Silver any less cool he's got this whole kyle reese/john connor from terminator or even future trunks from dragon ball z/super going on but still with his own personality. Another comparison is Sailor Cosmos from PRetty guardian sailor moon, 90's or the new film both of which were recieved quite well. I hope they truly give Silver the chance he deserves to have a game focused around him and in the films too.

An Unleashed remaster with a Silver campaign would be great. Unleashed was one of the few games after 06. If done right, they could make a whole new beginning for Silver and his story.

I've always been a Sonic fan but I've just recently been getting back into the franchise & exploring it in more depth than ever. One of the first things I heard about was how much fans hate Sonic 06 for its janky game mechanics, so I automatically thought it was just a bad game. Then on a random whim, I decided to watch a youtube video summarizing its story, and I was legitimately shocked at how complex and interesting it was - especially the time travel aspect with Silver. It still has its.. questionable parts (that weird romance with Elise should've never happened), and the overall execution was undeniably sloppy, but the potential was there. I loved and still love the idea of so many characters being playable, and I think that's the #1 thing that should be brought back in this modern Sonic renaissance era, especially if the games are becoming lore-centric again. A story has so much more depth when it's being depicted from multiple perspectives. Combine that with high quality cut-scenes, a killer soundtrack, and *most* importantly - polished gameplay mechanics to tie everything together, we'll finally have achieved PEAK.
Anyway, if Sega's next project is truly what Sonic 06 failed to be, given the last few releases we've been getting, I'm optimistic.

@@DevieDarx if you mean from project 06 with Silvers Lotus of Resilience, The Flame of Control, and the Sigil of Awakening oh yeah Silvers abilities would be over 14,000.
It baffles me when the companies that are responsible for the creation of these fictional universes don't make full effort to stick to its own lore and stray off which in a long running brand/IP/series, it can really ruin the overall direction of character design and writing as well as the writing for plots. Clearly when they are on the same page, they pump out fantastic content. You start to feel the care and passion vs just throwing shit at a wall hoping it spits out money.

Just give us Silver and Blaze teaming up to kick Eggman Nega's butt across space-time and we're good.
Also, I don't think Blaze was ever actually part of the future in 06. I think she just got transported there due to the Sol Emeralds or Jeweled Scepter and just decided to stay with Silver to help him out. It's not like she actually got a chance to interact with the other characters.
Silver's first canonical meeting with everyone in the new timeline was in Rivals and his first meeting with Blaze happened in Colors DS. They even have deja vu around each other.
silver has had so much potential for so many years and i am geneuinly glad to hear that hes finally going to be able to shine.
I'd really appreciate a Silver game that went more on about his past and what his future looks like now that it isn't Crisis City, but yeah, Idk, probably after 06 is 20 years old

If the Sonic 4 Movie ever does get officially announced for filming after Sonic 3 and we get a Silver post credit scene, I can see SEGA doing a Year of Silver in 2026 and just like Shadow, becoming a relevant character we care about once again. Everything from Personality, Story and Gameplay.
