@@andydietrich3689 they mean colours as in purple, green and blue etc, not foundation shades, every brand should have a ‘range’ of shades which they at least stock online, they don’t have to sell every one in physical stores or even make too many but it’s important to cater to every demographic in your repertoire or you look cheap and discriminatory, for example itcosmetics not stocking any of their cc creams for darker shades for ages, it was not a stretch for them to do it because they had the money and it’s a cc cream so one can cover multiple shades, same with the hoola bronzer, which was difficult for even some white to use people, as a brand you look lazy
One factor that really contributed to deteriorating interest, at leat imo, is the fact that there is nothing high quality about their products, especially the eyeshadow. To me, the name too faced is synonymous with shitty, overpriced Christmas edition eyeshadow palettes that are pretty much the same every year, and completely rely on fomo and overtly sweet scent. The Nikki tutorials and rich lives matter situation was really only the nail in the coffin for me
I think they were okay quality in the early 2010’s but I don’t think they changed their formula to catch up with the wider market. Other brands innovated and improved their quality, I don’t think Too Faced managed to do that
I agree, I bought their neutrals palette and the quality is shockingly bad !!!! I've used it once and never again. I still get angry when I think how much I paid for it. There are drug store brands that are a 100 times better than TF, and cost a fraction of the price.
They came by my old job a few years back. My coworker showed them her blush and said I just wanted to say I love your products and use them daily. They asked her for her email, and that was that. Not long after, she received a PR package of their new products
I had a similar experience with the head of marketing for Korres. I articulated that I adored the products and she asked for my email address. Soon thereafter, I received a rather large box 📦 brimming with free products. I nearly cried. 🥺 That had happened at an exceptionally difficult time in my life mentally, emotionally, and personally. I also was unaccustomed to being on the receiving end of kindness.
Those brands understand that in the end of the day, loyalty is what makes or breaks a company; send some products was cheap next to all the people that learned about it first hand from your friend or second hand like your comment - we like to buy from places that actually seem to care.
I used to buy a lot from Too Faced before the pandemic and I was a 35 year old woman. I especially love their foundations. Peach Perfect was one of the best foundations I've used throughout the years. The Born This Way series was very nice as well. I start losing interest in this brand after they discontinued some of their best products, and they are pumping too many products at once with average or even subpar quality. There's just an information overload for makeup enthusiasts. After the pandemic, people are getting tired of the "fast fashion" strategy that some makeup brands adopt. Colourpop probably faced the same problem as well.
this was me to a T. i had a favorite...their bb cream. it actually covered my hyper-pigmentation and looked so soft and natural. i adored it. then they discontinued it. a girl in the store tried to tell me another product was "basically the same" but it wasn't at all. they discontinued some incredible products that should have been kept staples and instead replaced them with very gimicky things that would also soon fade away. it was a cycle.
Same. And Too Faced still has good quality! I try dozens of brands Western, Korean, Chinese and Japanese and Too Faced has among the best lip formulas out there. Their skincare is solid too when it comes to ingredients that make sense and nice formulations.
I love their Born This Way oil free foundation. It's my go to. Unfortunately, small independent companies get bought out by big conglomerates and the quality of the products suffer...

It’s a shame they didn’t segment it into distinct lines, one line for staples, that would always be the same, with one line that was specifically meant for gimmicks and collabs
Fabulous video. I quit buying from them years ago when i found out what an amazing formula is. They have been milking the same 13 shades of brown in a horrible formula for far too long. The palette packages are adorable, but it does not matter when you fill them with crap. I was out right before the Nikki ordeal and glad.
Too Faced is a great place to start for someone who may be younger and wanting to get into “high end” makeup, but as they learn and try new brands they’ll quickly realize that Too Faced quality is not all that great (this is exactly how it all went down when I started getting into makeup) 😂
That’s where I am/was. Thought I was getting myself something more luxury than the pharmacy makeup I was used to buying. But I realized the products are quite crap and I’m better off buying elsewhere.
I didn’t get into make up until my mid twenties and still not too crazy about it but It’s sooo interesting to learn that some of the popular brands have been around for over a few decades, scandals aside it’s cool to see how much they’ve developed in the make up world.
I'm already in love with this channel! It's so well written and put together! We can really see the researches and all the work you put in this video. You are doing an amazing job!
Good analysis. I would like to add that besides the scandals critically to a lot of consumers (outside of RUclips or the media focused)is that the quality has drastically decreased over recent years. Meanwhile similarly priced competitors like ABH have reformulated and driven greater demand. Too Faced charges the same prices but it is now less pigmented, cardboard packaging (which although sustainable is seen negatively by a lot of people) and similar colour stories. Even as late as the gingerbread extra spicy and pumpkin slice palettes they were selling out quickly in my country as the pigment was good (not comparable to luxury but solid) and interesting colours. So scandals, quality decreases at the same price, less favourable reviews and changing interests of the target audience (who don’t want fragrance cutesy products) are all impacting on the brand.
I still have my Quickie Chronicles pallette! The blusher in the Temptress is still the nicest shade I've ever found. I actually didn't realise Too Faced was still around
It was also a dumb part on Nikki to accept that contract with NDA probably because she had not seen such a huge amount of money offered to her yet, probably also lacked legal advice, and only learned later what she could have made more money for her following on RUclips and how much this palette sold and made for TooFaced. And to correct you it was 50k not 500k, which I think she would have been more happy with😂😂😂
I don’t know if that’s very fair, when she did the collab there was no information for her to read about what she should expect, there was very few RUclipsr collaborations at all for her to even reach out to other RUclipsrs to ask for advice, and there’s no way to say that they knew what they were doing either. She would’ve been better advised to get a lawyer to look it over, but of course, there’s no way for her to have known that she should have done that, or expect that she was being taken for granted. It’s 100% a company taking advantage of someone that simply didn’t know better
Thank you for putting the amount at 50k. I was like 500k? I’m pretty sure that’s not right. I immediately started scrolling through comments to see if anyone else remembered. Cheers!
@@underskinYT usually companies negotiate prices. It seems that Nicki signed the contract without a counter offer, jumping at the opportunity to align herself with a mainstream brand like TooFaced. I hope this doesn’t sound like shade towards Nicki (I like her) but I thought it was be common sense to never accept the first offer someone gives you, especially since Nicki has at least some prior business experience. That’s sort of on her….
You are delusional if u think nikki didn't have a lawyer. Also it's not uncommon for these tyoe of deals to have NDAs, u never hear celebs or influencers babbling abt how much they got paid for a collab, all they describe is how the product was created, which is kinda needed to sell the product
I bought a bunch of their stuff pre-pandemic and pre-grad school when I wasn't wearing makeup much, but the Hangover coconut setting spray is actually amazing for setting body spray (I do cosplay and the Mehron water based paint stays on well with it), but yeah I haven't seen much from them since and was wondering why they'd been so quiet. I like their stuff still, but a lot of the "millennial pink" branding companies had been using is kinda dying down as we're getting older and more disillusioned and having even less free money to spend on makeup.
Loving the content . It’s been interesting to see people like yourself take on some of this modern pop culture / sub culture topics . I would love to hear your take on the fall of the beauty community and beauty influencer culture on RUclips . Keep it coming. ❤
They were fire when they were new, granted there weren’t a ton of options outside of MAC and Nars back then. I have a super old blush that I just can’t throw out despite being a decade past expiration because in all this time I can’t find a perfect replacement shade. I save it for the special occasions bc it is the best I have ever tried. When it started getting low I bought the new version of thier blush only to find that it was garbage beyond what you find at the drugstore. RIP papa don’t peach😭

I just realised their old school sexualised glamour packaging is extremely similar to a highlighter from a brand I bought here down under, the brand is called The Balm, I’ve got (and loveeee) the Mary-Lou Balm-inizer. I bought it on a whim & it packs a hell of a punch. Rightly or wrongly I use it for highlighter, mix it in my lips, brow bone, and mix it in with/over/under eye shadows. But I’m a makeup novice, priced out of brands like Too Face/most popular brands, & getting this for a steal was really important. I bought my first one years ago and just about died to see it’s now $39. I won’t be renewing that lol! I only mention. This brand because I wonder which developed this very specific branding image first, too faced or The Balm. Thought you might be interested for your research. This is great, immediately subbed
I worked at the mall when Too Faced hit Sephora and the Balm display sat right next to it. I thought they were the same brand. However, vintage pinups had quite a cultural moment in the early aughts and both brands were jumping the same train together. Blue Q products are the first that I remember seeing set this trend.
ugh I remember my first piece of makeup, it was a little Too Faced value sampler thing. It was like a book, about the size of my palm, one page of 4 eyeshadows, one page of a blush/bronzer due, a page of 2 lipsticks in pans with a glitter gloss pan and a page of powder to cover redness. It was EVERYTHING I could've wanted as a 14 year old girl learning to use cosmetics without looking like a clown. I still have it somewhere, this video is going to make me go back to my parents' home and root around like a lunatic for it haha. I'd still purchase their stuff if they kept the same aesthetic/I still wore the stuff, it was just very appealing. I'm not into the minimalist branding most other companies seem to have.
I actually still really love Too Faced eyeshadows. I find that the eyeshadows blend really well and are easy for a simple everyday look. I don't really use any of their other products though.
I'm a fan of the beginning to mid 2000's with the look 8f the brand, the burlesque-style. When Peroxide, Marcia, Marcia, Marcia away plus the style I was done. All that fly by night gimmicky makeup lessons the brand to me, the natural eye palette (original) was an absolute favorite 9f mine
I just want to say I was a counter manager for Chanel 1998/97. Chanel had gold and silver sparkle eyeshadow at that time. Along with a luxe black flex. The gold shimmer shadow was based on whole campaign with Nicole Kidman. Of course another relaunch of Chanel # 5. Other than that I really enjoyed learning more about this brand I have to say they do wonderful quality products and their packaging is second to none. .
I remember 11 years go, I was still in high school and I would go to Sephora with my bestie and try Lip injection gloss for the first time. The saleswoman gave me a little brush to try it on without any warning and my lips hurt as hell. I was so scared to put it on again, but my bff was addicted to the plumping effect
Wow, I didn't know about the brand's history and I didn't even hear about the scandals until now. I don't use TooFaced on my makeup clients but I buy a lot of the eyeshadow palettes for myself. The Chocolate bronzer is my HG because I have such a hard time finding contour/bronzer products that aren't too warm for my skin. I really like the packaging because my vibe is pink/kawaii but I understand that it can be childish and to for everyone. If they do rebrand, I probably won't buy the products anymore. Thanks for the interesting video!
I suppose it depends on what, and if, they choose to rebrand to. If it was more consistent, but still pink and fun and girly, I think it would go along with what we know of the brand, but in a new and elevated way.
16 minutes is hopefully a timeframe I will stick to, I like the idea of consistency for sure. I mean I even somehow managed to get all of Dior cosmetic’s history in 16 minutes and Ive no idea how I managed that 🤣
I will say this, ever since ELC took over it's been like night and day. They are way more consistent, their holiday palettes this year and last have been AMAZING. And they got rid of what wasn't working. Also they've had an amazing year in sales tbh. I wouldn't say they died, I say they needed to admit that Jarred just wasn't what TF needed to succeed
Every time I read ELC I think of the Early Learning Centre and I do a double take 😂😂 i think they couldve recovered better from Jarred if they had made more of a statement and changes based on his actions
I used to be a Too Faced stan….In fact, my very first eyeshadow palette was the Chocolate Bon Bons palette. I ended up throwing it out recently because I haven’t used it since 2017….but pretty much most of my makeup collection consists of Too Faced. I have the Chocolate Bar palette, Sweet Peach Palette, Just Peachy Mattes palette, Gingerbread palette, Chocolate Gold palette, as well as their 2016 Christmas in NYC palettes (3 mini eyeshadow palettes: Peppermint Mocha, Gingerbread, and one other palette) and it came with a mini Better Than Sex mascara in a cute packaging. I even had their mascara melt off which I loved, full size BTS mascara, Hangover primer and setting spray, Lip injection gloss although…..it never worked for me, and I had their Melted liquid lipstick that came in a squeeze tube, with a plush applicator. So just by me listing all the products that I had and still have from them…..it’s obvious that I was a stan. I stopped using their products after a while, with the exceptions of the Chocolate Bar palette, Chocolate Gold palette, and Gingerbread palette. I feel like they haven’t had any new, and creative product launches and I think that’s why they came out with the Ethereal concealer part of their Born This Way line…..they know that they’re not as big and popular as they used to be, and are trying to figure out a way to save themselves. I guess that’s why they kept holding onto hope with the Born This Way collection since it’s their best seller.
Oh my gosh, if you haven’t used it all since 2017, I should hope it all away, that has got to be passed its sell by date really bad 🤣😂🤣 Also, the BTS mascara, for a second I fully thought you were talking about BTS the brand and I thought I missed something really funny
honestly, i believe they will indeed be very succesful in the years to come. too faced is currently in the very rare and fortunate situation where they have an entire demographic, basically throwing themselves at them and their products due to their branding. if they only play their cards right and continue releasing products in their signature aesthetic i believe they will expand rapidly for at least a year or two.
I think it could happen too, but I do think they would need a rebranding in there. They’ve got two routes they could go down, they could go down the more adult, cheeky sexual packaging that they have had half their products in, or they could go specifically down the cute packaging route and do a young audience. The reason why it hasn’t really been working is because they haven’t solidified who is their target market, and so their product became confused, if they can sort that out, they will do wonders
It's so crazy how a few toxic RUclips beauty "influencers" can have such an impact on a business or product. It's really quite irresponsible of them bc how many little people with families to support behind the scenes get laid off as companies have to downsize.
Well influencers and the founders themselves. Human actions are often detrimental to businesses, thats why so many dont have their top staff acknowledged publicly

I only discovered too faced around 2017. The balm, too faced benefit and victorias secret all had similar packaging, i often got them confused. They're are equally good and better products for too faced products though, even though their pacakging and campaign is very pretty. You can't seriously say they should target younger people. Younger people can't afford it.
Younger people are a huge market in cosmetics because of parents, parents are more willing to spend a higher amount on almost anything for their child than they are themselves, thats why young people throughout time have such a huge spending power
I find that Too Faced suits me well. I like to use their products for "quick" make-up for every day. The cute aesthetic doesn't annoy me, I'm 26. I could probably give up all their products because I can't say that they are WOW products, I'm just used to them. The only thing I would definitely continue to use is Better than sex mascara. I have tried many different ones and this is still the best for me.
The 90s were an amazing time in the beauty industry. MAC and Bobbi Brown went mainstream bringing professional colour principles to beauty counter, and Too Faced, Urban Decay, Stila and Hard Candy made make-up cutting edge and alternative, in a jump from the department store staid "ladies who lunch" brands. Those brands may now be very changed, or gone from the market entirely, but in their heyday they were truly ground-breaking.
This is so funny bcs I just got almost exactly the opposite comment on my fashion channel, they said 90s minimal make up took away the 80s and 2010s decadent make-up. I think youre referring to the late 2000s-2010s with Mac, US and TF, but youre very very right it was an incredible time in make up, people really went for it. But interestingly, now that ifs all minimal, the industry is bigger than ever, sales are higher, spend is higher, its very interesting
@@underskinYT hmm..not sure if any type of old make-up that’s gone stale would attract collectors’ interest. Contrary to an old pen/handbag/car or even perfume..idk if make-up would hold any value 50 years down the line, solely for their packaging. I even had some not-so-old make-up that their plastic containers degraded so I had to get rid of them products altogether. Ps. Your voice is music to my ears!
I purchase the Two Faced lipliner in the shade badass, it's always sold out wherever I go, so it's hard to get, but it's the only nude lipliner I actually love, and won't go for anything else!
The brand owner is the reason I stopped buying TF; ignorant, tone deaf & arrogant. They never learned to READ THE ROOM, and consumers got tired of their shenanigans 😐
I'm actually a little surprised... I always thought Too Faced quality was crap, and their font looked like the one script font in your word processing program. I assumed the selling point was the fabulous coordinated packaging. I did like the idea of the chocolate bronzer, thought it was clever, but I was very turned off by their claims that the chocolate had anti-oxidant properties. So many people are aware that chocolate in most make up and skin care is refined to a point where any anti-oxidant properties are removed. They didn't have to say that, they could have just focused on the clever palette and yummy smell, but they had to take it too far. I like that they built the company from scratch, but it didn't fit my aesthetic and the quality wasn't stand-out enough to try it so Too Faced was always a hard pass for me.
This dog and pony show is ending. Like previously mentioned, their line has very little diversity and even in the face of other companies outdoing them with palettes and lip plumper they continue to offer their scorching Lip Injection and muddy bronzers. Shame on them for the MULTIPLE things they did to NikkiTutorials. Also, please note they were NOT the first brand to offer an all-in-one palette. Plenty of companies were doing this in the 70’s , I know this bc my mother had them. Her favorite was made by Merle Norman.
Yes, I also think they don’t have much time left, or they will be brand, which is the more likely of the two In regards to those all in one palettes, I know that they werent the first, but that’s the way that they frame it so that’s the way I framed it. I assume they mean a first for the company, or a first in recent years

What do you mean the Too Faced Quickie palette had "for the first time ever included several different products within the one palette - a concept never attempted before"? Palettes with eyeshadows, blushes, and lip stick/lipgloss pans had been around for decades before Too Faced. I had one from Charlie in 1980, when the perfume brand branched out into cosmetics, and some from other brands back in the 1970's.
We discussed this in another comment; for the brand, it was the first time ever, not for the market, but they promoted it like it was the first time ever for the market, so that’s why I mentioned it that way because it was an interesting detail

When Too Faced was brand new, no one could touch them. Sephora and QVC brought them to the masses. In my opinion, they could bring the entire brand back if they go back to the original logos, products and packaging. Tired of my makeup smelling like sugar. Best products were the home base cream eyeshadow and the loose glitter you could dab on, I had it in the shade “pussy galore”. Makeup was better in 2001 ❤😂

Well, the weather, the brand likes to describe it they make it sound like it’s the first in the world, obviously that’s not true, but I thought it was interesting that that’s how they frame it so I left it in

@@CrustyUgg it’s just bandwagon virtue signaling from kids that grew up on social media and don’t have an understanding of basic business principals due to their age/lack of experience/critical thinking skills. Imagine your market research and location dictating that POC only make up 6% of your consumer, but getting canceled online because you don’t test, produce and mass distribute a shade you know isn’t going to sell.
The Nikki tutorials and rich lives matter situation was really only the nail in the coffin for me
Esp when cheaper brands did and still do it for the same quality or better
I think they were okay quality in the early 2010’s but I don’t think they changed their formula to catch up with the wider market. Other brands innovated and improved their quality, I don’t think Too Faced managed to do that
I totally agree: their palettes are so bad!
I like their face products a lot, especially their concealers and powder. I don't care for their eyeshadows, although some of them have great quality.
Oh wow thats so thoughtful
What Job was that ?
Consumer fatigue is a real thing, for sure. They really hurt their brand by being so frequent and inconsistent.
I LOVED all the peach perfect products and they smelled amazing. Was actually heartbroken when they discontinued it
this was me to a T. i had a favorite...their bb cream. it actually covered my hyper-pigmentation and looked so soft and natural. i adored it. then they discontinued it. a girl in the store tried to tell me another product was "basically the same" but it wasn't at all. they discontinued some incredible products that should have been kept staples and instead replaced them with very gimicky things that would also soon fade away. it was a cycle.
I LOVED the peach perfect foundation. Was amazing for oily skin and looked flawless. So upset when they discontinued
I personally love Too Face's cutesy style and I'm a 31-year-old woman. It's one of the main reasons I buy their makeup 💖
It certainly has a very loyal following. Something out there for everyone 😇
I loved too faced until they recently sold the company. Can already tell the difference
imo it's the only thing they really have going for themselves
i had a favorite...their bb cream. it actually covered my hyper-pigmentation and looked so soft and natural. i adored it. then they discontinued it. a girl in the store tried to tell me another product was "basically the same" but it wasn't at all. they discontinued some incredible products that should have been kept staples and instead replaced them with very gimicky things that would also soon fade away. it was a cycle. i stopped using them when i realized that i could very easily find another favorite only for it to suddenly vanish too. it was very disappointing.
I guess thats why their reviews on YT always did so well; because the product was so hit or miss
I like their formula- what’s a good formula? 👀
@@underskinYT😮. G😅9999
Too Faced is a great place to start for someone who may be younger and wanting to get into “high end” makeup, but as they learn and try new brands they’ll quickly realize that Too Faced quality is not all that great (this is exactly how it all went down when I started getting into makeup) 😂
Honestly, for the price point, ColourPop seems more reliable
That’s where I am/was. Thought I was getting myself something more luxury than the pharmacy makeup I was used to buying. But I realized the products are quite crap and I’m better off buying elsewhere.
The sweetheart blush and bronzers were amazing I was so upset they discontinued those I haven’t bought anything from them since
It’s such a shame isn’t it, it’s really annoying when brands get rid of something that you relied on
I didn’t get into make up until my mid twenties and still not too crazy about it but It’s sooo interesting to learn that some of the popular brands have been around for over a few decades, scandals aside it’s cool to see how much they’ve developed in the make up world.
Completely, I absolutely love learning about how they got to where they got to
@@underskinYT I’m literally on a binge on your page! You’re so informative! Thank you for your content!!! 🫶🏽
I'm already in love with this channel! It's so well written and put together! We can really see the researches and all the work you put in this video. You are doing an amazing job!

@@underskinYT of course! I geniunly hope your channel will grow more! You definitely deserve it!
Really thank you, I put so much effort into my videos, I worried that these wouldnt resonate with anyway, but its so heartwarming to hear they have
Good analysis.
You summed it up so perfectly 👏👏👏
I still have my Quickie Chronicles pallette! The blusher in the Temptress is still the nicest shade I've ever found. I actually didn't realise Too Faced was still around
Yeah, it’s a real shame when brands that we enjoy fall off so much
They aren’t, but their brand name is😉
It was also a dumb part on Nikki to accept that contract with NDA probably because she had not seen such a huge amount of money offered to her yet, probably also lacked legal advice, and only learned later what she could have made more money for her following on RUclips and how much this palette sold and made for TooFaced.
Dumb for Nikki? Is that was you always say to victims of manipulative people? 🤔
Yeah, I think a lot of their initial audience has grown up, while their target audience hasn’t changed with it
Loving the content . It’s been interesting to see people like yourself take on some of this modern pop culture / sub culture topics . I would love to hear your take on the fall of the beauty community and beauty influencer culture on RUclips . Keep it coming. ❤
That was such a wild ride it could easily be a video all of its own
They were fire when they were new, granted there weren’t a ton of options outside of MAC and Nars back then.
Oh no thats such a shame
I remember Tati saying how Too-Faced really was two faced and while I only bought high end makeup sometimes, I would always avoid them cuz I already had that impression of them. The founder really did screw up their image and I can’t believe that lady went after Nikki like that!
For a woman that is well known, or supposedly well known, for being out of drama, she is often mentioned in those stories ijs
@@underskinYT who?
@@JDUCSUDMU38948 Tati, when dramageddon happened it was the narrative that she was never in drama, but she does often come up, so I think it was just that she was less drama in comparison 🤣
@@underskinYT Oh yes. In fact I refuse to follow Tati again because she always says holy things about herself while behaving pretty average.
@@underskinYT Before the whole Shane James thing she only had one "drama" incident with Emily Noel cuz Tati didn't like her palette and Emily's fans came after her pretty terribly, but She's been on RUclips like years and never had drama prior. Idk I still watch her videos cuz everyone deserves a second chance, and she seems like she's in a totally different place now.
This is my favorite brand, because of the unique packaging and the scented products, especially the eyeshadow pallets :-) and I’m definitely not in my 20s!
Same here
Do you like peach smell or the chocolate? Or a third option?
@@underskinYT I have the original chocolate bar palette, and I love that one… I also have the tutti-frutti blush and peach and pomegranate… And I love the smell of both of those the peach and that one is wonderful… But recently got the peach eyeshadow palette and that smell was not the same as the one in the blush. Didn’t like it very much it was very artificial smelling. Most of the sense that they use if they are food related are pretty good… But there are some that are just a complete miss…
Cringe
I remember coveting and eventually getting my hands on Ooh & Ahh eyeshadow duo. Truly an iconic product at the time.
Do you still have the packaging?

@@tangerinetangerine4400 omg yes!! I wore that eyeshadow every single day in 2008-09. It was my absolute favorite!
Oh, I don’t know this brand, I’ll check it out. Thank you so much for subscribing that means a lot to me 🫰
I worked at the mall when Too Faced hit Sephora and the Balm display sat right next to it. I thought they were the same brand. However, vintage pinups had quite a cultural moment in the early aughts and both brands were jumping the same train together. Blue Q products are the first that I remember seeing set this trend.
Yes it looks similar to The Balm, and Benefit also has a similar packaging
I cant even remember the last time they came out with something I was remotely interested in.
And yet they still get a lot of online traction, its so interesting. Id bet theyre ripe for a rebranding
@@underskinYT I think you are on to something. I bet you are right. 🤔 They are due.
ugh I remember my first piece of makeup, it was a little Too Faced value sampler thing.
Thats such a lovely memory you have with their goods, honestly it's so touching to hear. I bet youll be really happy if/when you find it
LOVE my semi sweet chocolate bar pallet. Wish it wasn’t discontinued
They discontinued far too much
I actually still really love Too Faced eyeshadows. I find that the eyeshadows blend really well and are easy for a simple everyday look. I don't really use any of their other products though.

They had so many iconic packagings
I love their born this way concealer, it lasts sooo long! I also love their chocolate bronzer but their products are way too expensive for me 🫣
I wonder if they will change their pricing strategy in the future, I doubt it, but it would be interesting to see
I just want to say I was a counter manager for Chanel 1998/97.

Chanel in this era with Avedon omg, so so so damn GOOD
I miss the old packaging pre 2016 sooo much!!

Every girl and make up guy in my school was ADDICTED to that stuff, despite us all being lip-less brits
Wellll DONE on this content, loving it already. Can’t wait for longer videos, thank you for this!! 🥰✨
Every time I read ELC I think of the Early Learning Centre and I do a double take 😂😂 i think they couldve recovered better from Jarred if they had made more of a statement and changes based on his actions
awesome content! and loved the way the narrative flows.. didn't even realize this was a smaller channel, you have my sub!!!!

Oh my gosh, if you haven’t used it all since 2017, I should hope it all away, that has got to be passed its sell by date really bad 🤣😂🤣
Also, the BTS mascara, for a second I fully thought you were talking about BTS the brand and I thought I missed something really funny
honestly, i believe they will indeed be very succesful in the years to come.
too faced is currently in the very rare and fortunate situation where they have an entire demographic, basically throwing themselves at them and their products due to their branding.
if they only play their cards right and continue releasing products in their signature aesthetic i believe they will expand rapidly for at least a year or two.
I’m 33 and I JUST discovered Two Faced this week. My daughter forced me into a Sephora and their designs pulled me in. I loved the packaging. I tried their lip plumper and adored it.

That better than sex mascara was the best selling mascara on the market, it has to be for a reason
Love their concealer 😭 & plump gloss
They have some bangers, shame its so hit or miss
Me too!
Oh..that black/silver eye shadow was the first I ever got..

I wonder if itll be a collectors item one day
@@underskinYT hmm..not sure if any type of old make-up that’s gone stale would attract collectors’ interest.
Oh I’ve never tried it, I usually stick to Mac liners
The brand owner is the reason I stopped buying TF; ignorant, tone deaf & arrogant. They never learned to READ THE ROOM, and consumers got tired of their shenanigans 😐
Seems like that’s the downfall of so many make up brands to be honest
Truly. Revlon is better quality

Yes, I also think they don’t have much time left, or they will be brand, which is the more likely of the two
In regards to those all in one palettes, I know that they werent the first, but that’s the way that they frame it so that’s the way I framed it. I assume they mean a first for the company, or a first in recent years
@@underskinYT Ah, I see. I wondered if that’s was what you were doing. It has been yearsssss but it bugs me when brands like this take credit for an original concept or design that has long been developed by better brands. Nice video, thank you.

It’s just very intriguing how many sales they are having rn and their retail stores are looking emptier each day! My stores are having 50% almost storewide for like a month at this point. I smell a rebranding!
I use the bronzer, foundation, concealer and loose powder from
Too faced. I love it 🥰
I’m glad you found a product you loved
very nice well put together video i hope this channel grows larger
Thank you so much, me too 😂
I'm a sucker for a TooFaced pallet! I own far too many and I love them all
You have a favourite scent?
@@underskinYT Chocolate 🍫 obviously, but their Life’s a Festival palette smells incredible! Not actually sure if it’s supposed to, but it’s really gorgeous
The scents give me a headache tbh so Im jealous you get to enjoy them. The peach collection is the least headache inducing, but its hard to buy into for me bcs of it
As a black woman I use DAILY their Matte foundation in -CHAI. I LOVE it!!!
It’s so nice to find a product that really works, you just have to hope they don’t discontinue it 🙃
I think they will regain attention if they remake the palettes with fairies and glitter concepts. Right now their like is too boring, but they amazing products (new concealer, born this way, better than sex, lip injection, primed and poreless powder , but their palettes are kinda boring lately )
Palettes really are the face of make up for so many companies that they are silly to ignore their impact on the brands public perception 🤷🏼♂️
I wish the fairy fantasy palettes would come back too!! Any brand really!
Lol yeah I was like WHAT
Too Faced Chocolate bronzer is a holy grail! They have had some amazing products. I have hope they can come back. We all have a chance for redemption. Just NEVER take away that bronzer. EVER! 😘
I fee like if they did a FULL overhaul it is possible. But itd certainly take a lot of work
Ok but i still love their Chocolate Soleil matte bronzer though
If its in stock 🙊
such a good video, I really enjoyed it. Glad YT showed it to me. You have a new subscriber! I hope 2023 will be your year in terms of blowing up on YT ;)
Thank you so much, Im so glad you enjoyed ^^
I actually own ALL of their BEST packaging gorgeous most beautiful palettes plus extras per box set in the world! I display them under my glass top vanity table...seen under the glass during one of the latest Too Faced Colletion I show in a video shared on my Instagram & RUclips cosmetics post. I'll share the link on my next comment.
Thats so cute 💕
When Too Faced was brand new, no one could touch them. Sephora and QVC brought them to the masses. In my opinion, they could bring the entire brand back if they go back to the original logos, products and packaging. Tired of my makeup smelling like sugar.
Best products were the home base cream eyeshadow and the loose glitter you could dab on, I had it in the shade “pussy galore”. Makeup was better in 2001 ❤😂
That og logo was not my taste at all, but they 100% could do with a rebrand. They could easily come back with one I think. Change the font, change the colouring a tad, come back stronger than ever
@@underskinYT ok not the OG logo but the one with the eyes in too faced, that era. Not 1998 for sure I agree with your taste on that.
@@DreamQueenScream oh yeah that was super cute, very of its time, but I still like the playfullness nonetheless
@@underskinYT these retro 50s pallets look like Benefit
Were you saying their mixed palette in the 2000’s was the first for the company or first ever seen in the makeup industry that combines shadow, lippie and blush? It sounded like you were saying first in the industry.
Well, the weather, the brand likes to describe it they make it sound like it’s the first in the world, obviously that’s not true, but I thought it was interesting that that’s how they frame it so I left it in
Im looking forward to more videos please keep it up❤️❤️❤️
Oh thank you so much! The next one is being scripted now 😇
Too Faced’s Peach Perfect foundation is the best foundation I’ve ever used, and I’m old. They discontinued it. I’m on my last tube, and I have not found anything that compares. 😢 first world problem, I know.
Thats so annoying though, uts really frustrating to have the thing you relied on removed
GREAT well done documentary! Super interesting and factual. Loved it ❤
Thank you so much 🙌
Omg if anything happens to the Chocolate Soleil bronzer 😬🥺
😂🤣
the thing that I think still remains a big slay is their born this way foundation, my first high end foundation, and it remained as such over the years. But I do wanna say, as someone with deep tan shade, their products aren’t very brown skin friendly and their eyeshadows are horrible
Seemingly, it’s all the old formulas that are still doing well, but, that’s of course a depleting amount because they keep discontinuing them
I love the eyeshadow palettes and the way they smell
Whats your favourite?
This is so well done, really enjoyed it ❤
Thank you so much!! 🥰
This is such a well made video absolutely great job! Looking forward to see more of your analysis of other makeup brands
Thank you so much, who are you interested in seeing?
I'm still mad they named my skin shade marshmallow 🤣
Omg stop thats so funny 🤣🤣
I do love their packaging but the lip liner I bought doesn’t cover well or show up really 😢
Yeah, the products aren’t exactly consistent
I love your voice. Sounds like the narrating voice for a children movie.
That’s so kind of you to say, I’m actually so self-conscious about my voice, so that’s really kind
@@underskinYT Your voice is utterly remarkable. I happened to stumble upon this video...the first I have ever viewed on your channel. I am so taken with the sound and quality of your voice, its tone, timbre, uniqueness, and overall loveliness. Do you do voiceover work on a commercially professional level? If not, you certainly should.
I never bought anything from them but I’ve seen and heard the CEOs are problematic and full of shit
Its amazing how a reputation can ruin a business so much really
I love their packaging..whats inside not so much. I do use lip venom solely because it reminds me of lip dew from way way back in the day, it is a nostalgia thing for me.
its a shame really
Post more!! I’m obsessed
Im working on it I swear 🥰
I think their products are amazing. They created one of the most perfectly performing mascara (Damn girl) a range of high quality formula eyeshadow palettes and lipglosses (lip plumper)
It’s a shame it’s just not consistent across the board
I love Too Faced!!!! I even have a small makeup cabinet for Too Faced makeup.
That’s so adorable, I love that
They have my favourite foundation, concealer (the born this way line) and pressed foundation powder ❤ I love them 😍 makes me feel posh and oh so pretty
Im so glad you found something you love
My sister loved their face. Gifted it to her and to this day, she still goes back to too faced
Thats so sweet, and i bet she thinks of you when she puts it on too
Their concealer is great! I still use it.
They have some really good products for sure
This video was really good and informative I really liked it and it certainly kept my attention subscribed
Im so so glad! Thank you for subscribing 💕
I actually have the soleil bronzer for 6 years and it still works 😄
Omg isnt that passed its use by date 😂
@@underskinYT you know it probably is, but it still works just fine and smells like chocolate 😁
You didn’t mention their collab woth Jackie aina to expand foundation shades lol
Thats because it came after the success of Fenty. It’s great that we have a wider range, but it wasnt innovative or interesting enough to make the cut 🤷🏼♂️
(Though i loooovejackie aina, so glad she returned to YT)
Side note you do not need to be young to love n' appreciate cutesy packaging🙄🤦 I am 33 and still love that kind of packaging which is why Sugar Pill has had my support since they first started up around when I was 21 and now Trixie Cosmetics also has my support... So if you don't like cutesy packaging anymore because you feel like you are too old for that kinda stuff then just admit you are a stick in the mid point blank period end of story🤷
I adoooooore Trixie’s packaging so much, she really understood her brand so well
@@underskinYT oh ok because I defiantly took what you said the wrong way I can admit that. In regards to Too Faced because of saud scandals they definitely lost my respect & support.. Possibly make a video on MORPHE now that's a hot subject hehehe
