This thing is so close to having everything that I need. I only wish it had an effects loop so I could run my phaser, delay and reverb after the SGT cranked amp sounds but still benefit from the cab sim.
Kai plays so tight and has a great sound! I'd love to see a series where every bass player on your channel presents his own favourite basses (that were demo'ed on this channel?), pedals and maybe their live rig :-). Keep it up!

Recently I bought a Sansamp VT-DI that I’m in love with. But this is giving me serious gas!
As soon as I saw the thumbnail I thought "if this can do SVT and B15, it's going to be a hit".
Impressive features! Bass isn’t my main instrument, so I’ve been looking for a good all-in-one solution for some time in order to avoid accumulating bass gear. This could be it.

The only suggestion I can think of would be a FX loop. But could the Preamp Out / Aux In connections function as a FX loop, I wonder?
Yup. The AmpegTV guys tried this in real time during a livestream. It works! But the Aux Input is after the cabsim. You can also connect the Thru to the Aux Input and use it as a dry blend.
I think it sounds ok. I did like the tones of the SVT- SGT combined.
I think I see the Yamaha (owns Ampeg) influence, nice package!
As do they own Line 6 which is why the Ampeg stuff is actually called out by name on the HX Stomp/ Helix and sounds so good to me!
The IR loader means the signal's converted to digital at some point right, but if you bypass the cab sim is it analog all the way through?
I imagine the signal gets split somewhere, the through signal going to the bass amp wouldn’t need the cab sim so the xlr and maybe the phones amp would be the only things that need it 🤷♂️

Maybe Ampeg got pissed with all these pedal/preamps trying to emulate their amps and decided to break the competition once and for all with that. Both B15 and SVT, classic cabinets, drive and very connections. well done
Thanks to all of those companies emulating The SVT, Ampeg can no longer hold back their Analog/SS technology.
It's just dumb to think that music technology hasn't advanced past 1969. Yet these small boutique brands and Darkglass come out of nowhere and emulated it and exceeded it perfectly in a small footprint 👣.

Showed up at the house today via Sweetwater but the wife had a migraine so tomorrow...Yeah, I know headphones but that's not why I bought it, just an added use. Edit, several months have passed and I am less than thrilled with this. My Ampeg SVP pro preamp sounds real to me though I do not want to lug the power amp along to gig. I believe I will sell this Ampeg box as its just not measuring up to the real thing for me. Anything can sound good alone but when in a mix the wrong sound gets lost.
What about comparing to the VY Bass DI?
HX stomps gets close to SVT tone as well has having massively morr features in a smaller box 🤷🏻♂️

aguilar rules,EBS rules swr rules but definitely NOT ampeg. i am for 35 years session bass player and they are not so good. if someone wants high end sound and diversity,they are the last in line
I agree in one sense: Musicman stingray always sounds similar-ish no matter what amp/ preamp you’re using. The Yamaha or any precision Jazzbass style Bass sound very different with various amps. Ampeg is either Stax Motown or 60s tone or a rock sound. If that’s not your thing obviously other amps are more to your liking. But Ampeg is definitely a standard and by many considered THE bass amp (me included).
Is the cab SIM only through the DI? .....can you use with the jack output (straight into a Amp)
