I fished the Ohio River on April 29th, 2022, i caught so many big sauger, striper, hybrids, white bass, crappies, and skips. I was amazed about how many species i caught in a 3 hour period after work. I didnt want to leave, but the bite finally turned off. I love fishing the Ohio River. Such a beautiful fisherie.
The spillway at Taylorsville lake ,guest creek, markland dam in the spring, and that dam in Frankfort is only good in the spring and fall not as many sauger there as there used to be but there are a ton of dams along ky river if you can get to them
I'm up north here in the upper river valley below Pittsburgh where the river starts with the Monongahela and Allegheny coming together. It's narrow up here. 1/4 mile wide.
You guys have some flat heads up that way been thinking of fishing Pittsburgh area next bengals steelers game, I’m an nfl fan and love the afc north division, could fish and watch the game it would be awsome
@@RiverBloodfishing Oh yea, saw a fellow pull out a 45 pounder last fall at the mouth of Wheeling creek where it dumps into the Ohio. Also below pike island damn on the WV side is great Sauger, walleye and saugeye
I was raised in carroll county was so blessed with the ohio river and Kentucky river and even the little Kentucky river. My biggest fish ever came out of the ohio river on the corner of a tributary and the ohio. However, I still to this day think the Kentucky river has a monster lurking I couldn't tell you how many stories from friends and family of people's rods being snapped and fish dragging people. I also heard stories of markland dam divers seeing fish big enough to eat a teenager.
I plan on making a few trips to ky river this spring for catfish and multi species fishing, I haven’t done great there but I’m sure if I put the time in I can get on some good fish and thank you for commenting hope to see you out fishing one day
Sauger and white bass spawn when water temps reach 54 degrees and typically migrate together up to the dams, white bass feed heavy at dusk, and that tells me there was plenty of bait there, sauger feed at night in the shallows, just have to wait on them to move in
Great video brother... That looks like a nice lil honey hole! Keep up the great work bro maybe 1 day we run into each other... I love hunting down crappie too.
Is that state route 52 behind ya in the beginning? Id love to try this creek mouth for cats in the spring; that is if youre willing to share where it is
I grew up fishing the Ohio. unfortunately for me back in those days, 60,s and 70,s that river so polluted mostly catfish and carp was the only thing you could catch. Not much else could survive in that mess of steel mill and plating plant chemical dumping. So nice to see how well it has been cleaned up. I'm still a little leary about eating from there. the amount of wildlife in the river now is amazing. Birds, eagles especially and all the ducks and geese is a very welcome sight. thank God for regulations. Please KEEP them and vote to keep them. Wildlife is important to us also. what if we had to depend on that food. we should be able to.
I also love conservation and protecting the river I have tried to eat the fish from the river a few times but they still have that oily river taste, but any thing I could do to help protect and conserve this great fishery I’m all in. And thanks for watching

It’s gets better in may if this water will ever stable
Any spots you’d recommend besides the falls of the Ohio? Ky afield did a show in Frankfort for sauger. Looking for more spots

it kinda looks like the mouth of fallen run creek or silver creek
It’s just below markland dam only a good spot in early may or the fall around late November early December it’s about 6 foot deep in that entire area
I think I know that spot lol are you by a boat ramp????
Yes by a boat ramp, that spot haven’t produced yet this year still waiting but did catch some big fish about a mile up stream the other day

Hey Jamie I finally found you. This is Sarah Warsaw, good video 💕❤️
Hey Sarah glad you found me, It’s always nice to see you out fishing, see ya soon
Curious, never have sauger fished yet, why does catching little white bass mean sauger will show up closer to dark?

I could explain better if I just made a video about it

Its 1 mile below markland dam, log lick creek on indiana side, I did catch a 40 pound blue here last fall, in the spring the skips are here heavy
upon further thinking if youre near markland youre nowhere near where im thinking and this is prolly indi/ky section of the river

I live in Owensboro. You got me wanting to go fish the river now!!
@@zmcdole heck yes, if you can find the fish it can be a good time
