Beautiful pendants, and beautiful technique! Thank you! 😊💕👍 Tip: The longer the initial cure time, the more buckled the surface gets with UV resin, because that type of resin gets super hot very quickly, and doesn't have time to even itself out before curing. I have found that to achieve a smooth surface with UV resin (regardless of brand, but I use only JDiction), I have to do 2 or 3 *very* short curings (no more than 10-30 seconds at a time!), cooling the resin completely before hitting it with the lights again, depending on the depth of resin. A shallow (doming or leveling) pour can buckle very fast, so 10-second cures seem to work best. ~~~After about a minute or two of curing, if it's still sticky, place the item in a clear glass if water and hit it with another couple minutes of UV light. The reason UV resin can remain sticky is because not enough oxygen deprivation occurs, so the "water bath" does the trick. Just wipe dry with a soft cloth, no alcohol needed.
Thanks for the tips! I have done some 2" oval pieces, which are a bit large for UV resin, but I like to experiment. 1st layer usually goes fine. 2nd layer, I sometimes get a concave effect, so curing less time may solve that. I use a piece of clear plastic (overhead projector kind), then glue on a paint skin, then resin.
Just love this! I painted rocks with the northern lights and did trees, so can’t wait to try this in resin. You are a great teacher! JDiction high velocity UV resin has changed the quality of my work, it is all I use for finishing.
I use eye shadow some times I heard u can use food colouring gitter but not overload because it wil stick out in th resin and u will have to sand it sometimes a little is good depending what y0u making I made keyring and threw some glitter I with my fingers and it looked great😅
I am just getting into resin so I watch LOADS of videos and these pendants are by far the most beautiful I've seen. I'm so, so in love with them! Subscribed so I can check out what else you've done.
Hmmm. I didn’t. I was making a whole bunch all at once so maybe the one I put the hardware through wasn’t the exact one I was showing earlier but otherwise not sure why you think it’s all together different? 🤷🏻♀️ I rarely make these so did a bunch at once for this tutorial and that’s it. Anyway - the whole point is to show others how so…
@@bouncingoffthewallsresinart oh ok that makes sense, i just wondered if somehow that one you were working on didn't work out or something. thank you, they are so gorgeous!
Wow , these are stunning ! Resin scares me . Ive tried some before and it never hardened properly. It also scares me because of the health precautions you need to take while working with it .
Beautiful pendants, and beautiful technique! Thank you! 😊💕👍

So pretty! But I am kind of wondering why you showed a completely different finished piece at the end.
Hmmm. I didn’t. Thank you! I love this! What do you use to make the stars?
I use white spray paint and just push down very lightly on the cap!
Can I ask what is the tool you're using when you're spreading/blending the resin? the flat tipped plastic looking thingy?
Love this pendant. Where could I find the mould that you used. I didn’t see it in your store front.
Thank you! Here is the link to the mold: a.co/d/9gAJ9RU

I never heard of wooden sticks adding air…interesting
It's actually well known. After using them once, the wood is sealed and can't release any more microbubbles.
Beautiful
