- Welcome all skill levels to my Battlefield 2042 Guide to Haven, The new season 7 map. I saw that some of you guys struggled to find some fun on the latest 2042 map. The main complaint was staying alive was difficult. The map is way more tactical than you may think. I learned the hard way when i first played Haven. So let me pass on to you some tips and tricks i've picked up along the way. Hopefull our paths will cross during the new season and i'll see you on the Battlefield..

So cute😂 I'm really pee'd off that I have to grind to unlock the AK5 C. I thought it would be unlocked from the start fs.
I think opinions over this map fall into three categories. Those who love it, those who dislike it for legitimate reasons, and those who are trashing it because they still have a weird obsessive hate over the game. Any kind of hate seems to be irrelevant at this point, as the game is over 2 years old now, and to actively play something they dislike or trash talk it for that amount of time is more of a reflection on that person than the game itself.
As an average casual player, I'm surprised that so many are struggling with this map to be honest. I really like it, and don't find that difficult to stay alive. It just promotes good teamwork, which is what Battlefield should be about.
Guys, remember there's a reason why Obi-Wan won. He had the high ground.

(OC I've seen the Original trilogy and I know how it ends, it was just the first thing that popped in my head the moment squid started explaining the buildings in c1)
You can definitely tell the people who have played the older BF games on this map and the newer players to the franchise…..The amount of times a see people running straight into fire in the open. Flank people!

Battlefield 2 is where I learned the importance of flanking around your enemy and hitting them from behind. I mained the special forces kit with c4 and the g36c .
I don‘t know… Haven feels like a CoD 2019 Map. Campy, 100 Windows, 300 Corner and 200 Headglitches Gameplay

I tried playing as Dozer on this map, i die faster than any other specialists. But I love the map so much fun. Is full with few sweaty but that's because it's new.

As a very tactical player, this video makes me very proud of squid. The levels of coordination and teamwork were good in the latter half of the video. Especially with moments like you blocking the stairs while you're squadmate was reviving.
Honestly the community would benefit from more videos like this. Maybe you can do stuff like so people how and when to provide cover fire or how cross and open field without getting shot.

As someone whose been playing since 2142, this is whar the hell ive been wanting for, this is the best kind of maps. Chaotically large and highly destructive
Spot on with the smoke. Not even 1% of ppl know how to use it. I used smoke on every map throughout the years and it can decide the entire game win for your team when you can breach the front...

Thank you for this video! I haven’t decided on loving or hating the map yet but do have the issue of spawning on a teammate and dying almost instantly. Definitely will be using some of your tactics but gotta find a good squad. It’s hard finding people who want to actually play as a squad instead of doing their own thing
I really struggled with this map yesterday, to the point I did have to take a breath and turn it off. Thanks for the guide to remind me of the basics, I’ll give it another try later with more patience and more smokes ❤

This is BF3 Sienne Crossing, all the way. Everything is a grind to gain ground.

Definitely has a BFBC2 vibe.. including holding a building tactics ... use RPG's to get rid of buildings from a distance ... love this map

I got adapted to the map pretty quickly but did take notice to a lot of spawn camping being more affective than it should be for a new map. Not like I’m getting killed by them but they’re affective at pinning me down while looking for an exit as infantry and a tank are approaching. Also a lack of medics and the ones that are just run past you. Also the pbx is even more OP now.
The problem with this map is it's not well designed for 64 players and vehicles. I'm going to create a 24/7, 32 player, infantry only Haven in Portal w/ full XP. Look for Phats Haven in Portal this weekend.

I created it last night and when you remove the vehicles, XP is restricted. Meaning no weapon or Battle Pass progression.... Lame. It is way better though, but not going to unlock shit. So I created another 32 player Haven w/ vehicles. That one is full XP minus tier 1 progression, which is normal. Here are the codes so you can all host them yourselves.....
Phats Haven 32 player w/vehicles Full XP: ABPR3T
Phats Haven 32 player Infantry Only Restricted XP: ABPR3G
I'll give this another chance as long as they fix the issues when playing on Xbox
I love the new small machine gun from season 7. I’m Already at tier 1 skin with it.
Main difference between this and Bad Company 2 is this map has 2x the amount of players. No wonder you get beamed so much quicker. Kinda wish this was 32 players as well.

tbf this map is almost perfect tbf, good verticality like the new bf42 maps and good close quaters and old school feel like bf4 /3 ect

Honestly I could deal w all the head glitches and angles but the new visual recoil is throwing me off as well as my lack of map knowledge. Granted I've only had time to play 1 round so far and though I didnt go full on negative I still did REALLY bad compared to normal lmao. I dont think theres any denying that its a good map but theres a bit of a learning curve to it especially with some of the other changed made this season.
I would say run the outside of the map and then make your way in carefully
After playing haven no problem 2 weeks later, I keep going on conquest and it doesn't play haven. Why can't I find haven now?

You can't run out in the open, be like a rat and run along the walls :P Like you mentioned this map requires you running as a cooperative squad
I love this map. I always do pretty good on this map. I don't care what people say. Battlefield 2042 is a good game. I've gotten my money out of it

This map forces you to strategize rather than just run and gun. The SVK is fun on this map.

Tust me I get 30+ kills a game cause of this. Use any sniper and place a spawner in a bush.preferably the stairs by C1 and use any infantry and the smart balls that reveal location + the drone with thermal. I guarantee a win and many kills

It’s a love-hate relationship with this map
The size is the only thing I like . I’m always flanking around and hitting people from behind . Blasco comes very handy in those situations
The map is OK, but I'm really waiting for a good urban map without small houses with a million windows and without sand.
It is autoaim console paradize. With their no recoil, auto-aiming, and shorter TTK, this map is simply unplayable if you play alone. Or be ok to be instantly and weirdly killed many times.
Squid is playing on PC. They update the recoil, and it's not a beam shooting at all. You have to control the recoil even on console.
You have to be super skilled on console even with aim assist at max
@@GSorinYT I wouldn't necessarily call it super skilled, but undoubtedly skilled. There's no denying that. However, I've found Close Quarters Combat (CQB) quite challenging. Particularly in face-to-face encounters, PC players are facing a disadvantage. Not to mention random behind-the-wall kills by tanks controlled by console players. It's not about blaming console players but rather expressing concerns about the current game dynamics.
@@marakony for cqb I use dozer because it gives me a slight edge. When I say super skilled I'm saying that on console is very difficult to beam people >60 meters with ARs because visually you're bouncing all over the place with your sight and it's not easy at all to compensate it using a joystick. Most people which are noobs or average will stick to camping for this reason, unfortunately
@@chriscollins550 Squid's videos differ from his live streams, and you must admit it. Also, I'm not talking about long-range fights, but mid and close-range ones where console players dominate, especially in team deathmatch games. Playing against console players in close combat can feel frustrating, similar to facing cheaters. I'm not attacking console players personally, just highlighting the gameplay imbalance. This map isn't ideal for PC players because of it. On a side note, why do you guys have bananas next to your nicknames?

The visual recoil change for consoles turned me from a noob shooter to the worst shooter. Plus the map promotes heavy camping. Guess the devs aren't interested anyway so it is what it is. Just wished they added an ability to choose the map you want to play but EA doesn't care
That's better than the COD style of run and gunning, hoping to be faster than the next player. It's not really camping. It's more realistic that you wouldn't just run around shooting in a real war zone.
@@chriscollins550other maps aren't realistic in terms of game play vs a real modern war. No one runs around like a headless chicken. That's not my point. Yes I can play slow with smokes take my time aka more tactically but that's not really fun it's just waiting for someone to cross your line of sight to beam them, advance a little with smoke. Rinse and repeat. I think most players can adapt to that but it ain't fun imo
@GSorinYT just around is not fun, pushing forward slowly working as a team is fun, moving from building to building is fun and playing tactical is fun. And the other map's do work the same if you can get a team that wants to and that's a guarantee way of winning every time on any map then just moving point to point hoping to beat another player at being fadmster.
