Holy crap I always play as Falk and I didn’t know this either. Now the seemingly random XP I’d get while downed makes sense - it was teammates running over the needles on the ground.
Saw him do that the first time and thought it was a broken animation. Then he kept doing it and I was like 😮 😂 I’ve probably wasted HOURS holding interact to shoot a stim into my arm. Thanks Jack for supplying us with insight even after 250+ hours I’m still learning something from him. 👍🏽
Im gonna repeat what someone else said in the comments but it is very true. You have the uncanny ability to make any video game seem fun. BF2042 is amazing now. I hope it maintains its numbers.
Idk if it’s me but 6:57 with the tank just speeding by and firing a missile feels like yet another “only in battlefield” moment. And the parachuting through the ice caps was so damn cool. Felt like the MC elytra flying courses but way more cinematic
I just got into Cod again, and the game just feels goofy. Now the battlefield moments are pretty goofy at times, but it just fits, it just feels so good to play battlefield compared to cod.
I always gravitated towards support roles like handing out medkits and ammo, don't know why players avoid them, if you're in the thick of it, you're gonna get kills no matter your class. Happy they made an attempt to assign specialists specific class roles.
Yeah, they’ve all been really good besides manifest. Manifest it’s a decent map rework, and I think we just got 2 left of the original maps to get reworked.

Following the recent class update, I feel confident to give the game another try. Previously, the objective of individual soldiers seemed somewhat vague, but now, it's clear what actions to take based on your role as a medic, engineer, or the like. As a result, you can methodically progress towards the objective. It's difficult to articulate what I mean, but...yeah. I might return to BF and the thought feels comforting and fluffy.
@@fulstaak When it first came out I tried making classes work by building typical medic support recon classes but the game still sucked because if you didn’t bring a med pack or ammo NO ONE was going to give you any. I couldn’t get it to feel like Battlefield for example tanks drove away when I tried to repair them, people skipped my revivable body, team wouldn’t capture any objectives there was only one contested objective people would fight for the whole game because all everyone ever wanted was kills.
@@oldkid820 I feel that around then there probably were a lot that came over from COD too, because of it being similar in a way. They seem to be after kills etc more then other stuff

I just recently decided to finally get 2042 after absolutely hating the beta because of your videos and I’ve been having so much fun. For better or worse, no game quite has that same feeling as Battlefield. I love being able to have games where I just passenger gunner a tank for the round, others where I just heal and revive people and barely fire a shot, or a round where I’m just completely focused on taking out helicopters. No matter what you do it really feels like it’s making a difference. So glad I have it another chance.
Loved the video Jack, so many you tubers think there special when all they show is either a full video of quick scoping sniper action or trashing everyone from a tank/chopper, you however have just shown that when you play your role in a team its just as fun. The map looks good but the rounds I played on Breakthrough where terribly one sided, defence got stomped 98%. Hopefully it's because a lot of people were adjusting and it doesn't become a worse Discarded map

Meta is most likely still gonna be Mackay. Best agility and maneuverability. You have the single med pen for extreme situations where if you don’t heal in that moment you’re gonna die. You can carry c5 for anti vehicle/infantry. With an assault rifle you now have 3 extra mags as assault so ammo is less of an issue. And then you can run smokes to cover pushes, revives, etc. The ultimate jack of all trades/1 man army build.

My fav part of BF games was being a team player and running medic for heals/revives or support for ammo, so I like watching that kind of teamplay. It's also partly why I could never get into 2042 before since it seemed everyone could do everything. Now with these roles more or less back, I may have to try this game again

Played this morning. The classes are a godsend. Battlefield is finally back. I've already switched between various classes/specialists this morning from having to change strategies and I've been playing with ONLY Angel before this update.
This update feels nice. Don't like how you have to hold Y or whatever for the plus menu, but at least throwables are back on left bumpwr or whatevee, again.
There was a change in the button layout, at least on Xbox. It was a minor one, but it was with how you used the plus system. I found myself getting healed much more now, which I like, and the teams seemed more cohesive too.
@@garretisla5282 you can switch it back, you have to edit the button mapping in game and use custom scheme, it's only 2 buttons you have to change, I put my class gadget back to up on the D-Pad and LB for my load out wheel

One thing that really needs to be updated is the minimap enemy markers. I can't tell you the amount of times that I've been looking for an enemy not knowing if they're above, below, or on the same level as me since the soldier dot never changes.
I just don't get it. Is it because thermal sight is rare in BF games or what? I played with exact this thermal scope in MW2019 and WZ1 in Verdansk days. What is soo special about this can you explain for an outsider?

I’ve always played medic and one thing I’ve found useful for reviving is pinging downed friendlies. That way they know I’m coming to revive them and don’t bleed out immediately
This feels great! I played all day yesterday on breakthrough heck i got all weekly challenges within two games, its the most fun the game has been since launch by far. Still waiting to see if the vehicles will get other armaments like the Vtol with rocket pods or 40mm GLs or even new planes, like a Vtol type for Rus and a dogfighter for the US.
Bought this out of a bargain bin for £8 when 3.2 came out and have loved it every minute of it. This game has really turned around and good job to the community for giving it the chance and coming back to it.
Got 2042 right after they put out the new update, only complaints are the grind to get new weapons/weapon mods and the fact that an smg can engage a sniper at 200+ meters. Other than that it seems pretty fun.
The 50ish GB update downloaded incredibly fast on my starlink connection and ran really well. I didn’t notice the FPS numbers, but it felt really smooth, and I’m normally 90-120 FPS. I got injured for no reason when jumping from the cliff right after the jump, and navigating the edge of the new oil terminal was really clunky and caused me to fall. I’m a bit bummed I can’t play with the same gadgets I had before, but whatev.
watching gameplay on the manifest rework kinda reminds me of the snow maps from BF4, operation whiteout specifically I meant breakaway but it was 4AM and I was tired so laugh at me
I played a few matches today, just enough too get through the weekly missions for the BP. I didn't take the time to unlock any of the new stuff, so it was just to play around with the classes. Honestly, it doesn't feel very different. Sure, if i want a certain piece of equipment or gadget, I have to pick a certain character, but aside from that the mechanics feel exactly the same. I did take the Javelin for a walk, it feels a bit weaker than it should be. Three rockets into a tank didn't destroy it. It may have gotten some repairs, but there wasn't much time between shots, so it couldn't have been that much.

Yeah it's pretty useful when you attack a bottleneck and you know enemies are aiming the entrance you're about to attack

from what i've read in the patch notes it seems like thermals can't see through player-generated smoke so they're not gonna be AS busted i hope

Yeah I keep forgetting and stand out in the open for 5 mins trying to set up gun after continuously trying to press lb 🫣
I am not happy they changed the buttons after I have muscle memory for original layout.

Thermals need more distortion, there is almost no disadvantage to using over a regular scope while having massive advantage.

Try to play bf 2042 on ps4 with crossplay off, getting into lobbies with 2 people and the rest bots if u even het into a match
PC was the same until I turned crossplay back on, I don't think the pool of players with CP off is very large

Got 2042 right after they put out the new update, only complaints are the grind to get new weapons/weapon mods and the fact that an smg can engage a sniper at 200+ meters. Other than that it seems pretty fun.
The 50ish GB update downloaded incredibly fast on my starlink connection and ran really well. I didn’t notice the FPS numbers, but it felt really smooth, and I’m normally 90-120 FPS. I got injured for no reason when jumping from the cliff right after the jump, and navigating the edge of the new oil terminal was really clunky and caused me to fall. I’m a bit bummed I can’t play with the same gadgets I had before, but whatev.
This update got me back into BF loving it so far
I've started to enjoy watching your videos more than actually playing the game.

what's ironic is that at SHOT SHOW Vegas last week, Holosun introduced real thermal rifle sights just like this to the civilian market.
Rocked my MTAR again today and it really felt like BF to me!!
I played a few matches today, just enough too get through the weekly missions for the BP. I didn't take the time to unlock any of the new stuff, so it was just to play around with the classes. Honestly, it doesn't feel very different. Sure, if i want a certain piece of equipment or gadget, I have to pick a certain character, but aside from that the mechanics feel exactly the same. I did take the Javelin for a walk, it feels a bit weaker than it should be. Three rockets into a tank didn't destroy it. It may have gotten some repairs, but there wasn't much time between shots, so it couldn't have been that much.

I miss bf4 buildings blowing up thermal mortars and a throwable drone there’s a lot more but those were just the basics
