There was a soul attached to that ball. It's Clay's now.
Oh, please. There were two guys other than Mathews, one of which barely touched him. They weren't holding him, either, they were pushing him back to the ground in order to tackle him. Mathews just made one hell of a play by coming up behind him and quickly ripping it out. Peterson has owned the Pack a fair few times, time to admit when it happens to him.
True. But it's likely that in 2022 it would have been ruled Minnesota ball.
Look at the play in the first half of the Colts-Vikings game when Chandon Sullivan stripped the football and ran it into the end zone. The Indy receiver was struggling to break free but it was ruled that his forward progress has been stopped.
Probably the correct ruling but I dislike the rule.

Whether it takes 4 guys or all 11, having the ball stripped THAT cleanly out of your hands for a sudden touchdown (hell, I bet some people didn't even see the ball was fumbled) the other way qualifies for some kind of ownage. It's not exactly THE MUST SEE season highlight, but it's a damn fine play against a normally solid back in Adrian Peterson.
Your forward progress has to be completely stopped and you have to be stood straight up to get them to whistle on forward progress. Since Peterson was going to the ground, the only way to end the play is to reach the ground and be tackled.

Whatever AD killed the packers defense this year and all you packer fans gotta admit it. I admit that we lost our first and last game fair and square but even with a pretty good packers defense AD was able to ram the packers defense to the ground with over 500 yards in 3 games.

Yeah. Peterson's good. And I'm a Packer fan. That said, a good running game will help, but look at Green Bay. They had no run game at the end of last season. Starks made an appearance in the playoffs and proved himself, but he wasn't used much in the SuperBowl. Only 11-12 run plays the entire game for Green Bay if I remember right.
