      And what about Roger Williams Park? It's the largest city park in North America and was designed by the same firm that designed Central Park in New York City.
      And then there is Blackstone Boulevard. Simply gorgeous.

    Great video of Providence every time I see videos or pictures of Rhode Island almost brings tears to my eyes cause I cherish the memories I made in Rhode Island in 2020 when I visited for my birthday. I miss Rhode Island a lot and will never forget the time I spent there ❤️ i have often thought about moving to Rhode Island but the cost of living is high on the east coast I would love to return some day again.

    I dated a guy who worked at Ladd Observatory on Brown University campus as an Astronomers assistant (not sure if he's still working there still) but he showed me around a lot of those places that the guy in this video was showing, just amazing and beautiful architecture of old buildings. Good video 😊

    Great video. As someone born and raised in RI, I have tons of memories going into Providence and exploring the different sites there with my family and classmates. You covered a good portion of what there is to do and see, but also left out a lot. There's PPAC, Roger Williams Park/Zoo/University, Providence Place Mall, Thayer Street, and so much more with different events happening throughout the year like water fire and the Providence Children's Film Festival's various showings. And that's also not including other things RI has to offer from the ghost tours in different locations, Newports' mansions and beaches, various farms and breweries, and historical reenactments/tours.

    Great video JP well done! This is one of the best videos about Providence I found on RUclips and you nailed it. I love the fact that every site is within 20 min walking distance from the train station. I'm traveling to Boston by train later this month and will visit Providence on the way for only 4 hrs, though I will definitely check out the State House and hopefully do a self-guided tour there. Do you have any other recommendations?

    • @ProjectGaiaTravel
      @ProjectGaiaTravel  Год назад

      Hi ED, Thanks for watching and the support. Yes everything is very close and within walking distance in the video. The train station is right in the center and drops you off adjacent to the Rhode Island State House. If you're there on a summer night check out Water fire on the river where fire shoots out of the water, and definitely have dinner and check out the nightlife in Providence's Little Italy, Federal Hill. I really enjoy the Pedestrian bridge next to the river walk too. It's a beautiful city and a lot of it can be seen in a full day if you do it at an aggressive pace. I will likely be visiting Boston this month too, so check out the video for that! Stay tuned!

    • @chriseidam7319

      You definitely have to get a meal on Federal Hill as he recommended. It's about a mile west of the train station.
      Additionally, that RISD museum is a treat. My parents were art teachers. I've lived in different parts of the country as well as being born and living in Providence. I consider the RISD Museum the best art museum experience that I've seen in the country, and I've been through many of the very best art art museums in the country.
      As you can see in his video, there's almost nobody in any of the rooms at the museum. Unless you go on a Sunday when it's free, you could walk into the rooms full of Impressionist paintings and step back 20 ft to view it without anybody walking in front of you. That is the way you're supposed to view Impressist paintings. Try doing that in New York City, Boston or Washington DC. It's not going to happen.
      It has the 11th largest fine art collection in the United States.
      That state house is really cool too. I think it's one of the two prettiest state capital buildings that I visited, the other being in Wisconsin. I rank it above the Wisconsin State House because the grounds of the Rhode Island State House are prettier and the setting is prettier.
      It's right next to the train station.
      It has the fourth largest unsupported marble dome in the world. It has writings of founder Roger Williams.
      Roger Williams was the founder of absolute religious freedom worldwide. If you were a Satanist, you could safely practice your occult religion in Rhode Island. That is how far Rhode Island took religious freedom. You couldn't do that anywhere else in the world. As a result, Rhode Island attracted a lot of outsiders and free thinkers. So independent thinking and critical thinking are in the bloodstream of native Rhode Islanders.
      Williams is the reason we have a Bill of Rights. In fact, Rhode Island refused to join the United States unless a bill of rights was added to the Constitution. That's why we were the 13th state and not the first state, even though we were the first colony to declare independence.
      For the life me I can't understand who I nobody has made a movie about Roger Williams. Not for nothing, he is arguably one of the most influential people in world history. His story is full of drama and action. He was an exceptional human being with an exceptional mind and exceptional character. If I ever win the lottery....

    Thank you for this fantastic tour. I had no idea that Providence had so much to see, and you are an amazing tour guide- you can give me a tour any day haha. Quick question, how is the parking in the area? And can all these sights be seen on foot, or did you drive to each location? I’m looking to plan a day trip this Spring.

    • @ProjectGaiaTravel
      @ProjectGaiaTravel  Год назад +1

      I'm glad you enjoyed the tour, and I'm all over exploring new areas and making content for you guys, but mainly based in New York City, so if you're ever in the area I'd be glad to give you a tour.
      So parking in the area varies by location. Street parking in Downtown Providence and Federal Hill can be difficult, but I found parking in the College Hill area to be OK.
      Also, I did not park myself- I took the train, which drops you off right next to the Rhode Island State House. During the tour, however, walked to every location- it is a very compact city. I am an avid walker though- it might be hard for people who have difficulty walking.

    You did not mention any information about a 2nd college located in downtown and I went to there after High School. That school is Johnson and Wales College school of business and has a vast Campus in other parts of Providence .along with their recently acquired campuses. It is a very popular Culinary School World renowned and a has a many different ethnic students enrolled there. Also it would be nice to see you travel through some neighborhood that is located close to Roger Williams Park . Question! Whatever happened to the elevated roadway in Doyle Square and traveled above Point Street , Eddy Street, and Allens Avenue by the Griggs and Brown exterminators, The Tip Top Bakery, Narragansett Electric Buildings and a Merit Gasoline station and near the Hurricane Barrier?

      This is probably about 3-4 miles. It isn't that bad, if walking is easy for you I did the entire tour on foot as I took the train here, and still was done in time for dinner in Federal Hill (Little Italy). I think you did an excellent job as a layperson making this video, but I think you need to do it in the summer, and I think you could make it a little tighter on the editing
      There is so much more history to be added to the narration, too.
