Amazing the locksmith is still there on 2ed St. When you got to the corner of Union St & 7th, the very spot I proposed to my wife during a "7th Heaven street fair" a band was playing there, when they finished a tune I asked if I could make an announcement, they were happy to oblige. She said yes, there were hundreds of cameras clicking, I never seen any of the photos. I gave her a $10 ring that I bought at one of the venders, she wore it till the day she died in 2023.

I've been there, never knew the area had a name. A retired trucker, I've been pretty much everywhere. Most of the area isn't as bad as what he's showing, but still rundown.

Regarding the 1990s Woodstock festivals. 1994 was by far the closest to the actual Woodstock, held nine miles away in Saugerties. It had an eclectic variety of music along with the contemporaneous acts of the 90's. It got a bit out of control when 300k people showed up but the vibe was still good overall and we had a good time. The 1999 festival was held two hours northwest at a former air force base in Rome, NY and devolved into a real mess, culminating in a riot. People can google for specifics. I'm glad I passed that one up.

You just saw the best part a few franchises on a highway. New London ct still has 300 year old buildings in use. City is full of mom and pops and very vital all downtown is filled with open stores. It is the city of Amistad..

i absolutely love York and the area around the city, my ancestors come from Seven Oaks in Kent when i visited there I really felt like I was coming come such a weird feeling.
