We have blue note in ct will have to check it out. Gonna look for the total wine one too
The blue notes are usually really well priced too!
Keep it down on the juke joint!!! SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
JUKE JOINT IS NO GOOD STAY AWAY!
The regular devils River bourbon is absolutely atrocious. I’d feel bad for the charcoal that I would pour over it to use it as lighter fluid.
That’s what I’ve heard. I hope I specified enough that it is in fact the barrel strength single barrels!
Trevs an underrated bourbon
I’m so overrated dad
I’m so overrated dad
@@TheBourbonWrench thats a filthy lie. Go to your room
Okay, Trev....Traverse City Whiskey Barrel Proof against Tumblin' Dice ANYDAY ! LOL
I’ll test it myself! I’m all for finding the best whiskey!
What is the source of the Blue Note stock? Is it actually distilled in Memphis?
I actually think it’s theirs!
That blue note Juke Joint I have 3 store picks and hope to pick up some more they are incredible
I need to go get me a couple more! So dang good man
Hurry up and tell me...I neeeeeeed to know!
It’s your whiskey and you need it NOW!
Super nice video, Trev! Loooove Still Austin cask strength 😊🥃🥃
It’s so dang good!!!
@@TheBourbonWrench It’s in my top two or three favorites this year!😁🥃 Cheers, brother!
Great list bro 🇺🇸🥃👏
Heck yeah! Now do push-ups!!
@@TheBourbonWrench I actually found a bottle of Devil's River a couple years ago and I thought it was really good after opened up. Grains to glass operation, underrated and underrepresented. I was happy to see it make your list
Jeppson is mgp sourced incase no one has mentioned
That is correct! Thought I mentioned it in the video, but who knows! I hit record and just talk so a lot of stuff can be left out! Cheers!
Nice, I just asked about the Tumbling Dive yesterday at my go to store and he has it for 60.00 going tomorrow after lunch to buy it! Hope I’m in agreement on the taste and quality!
I first purchased Juke Joint in Memphis, but we do have it in local southeast Texas liquor stores. I like it a lot! I'd love to find Tumblin' Dice and Jeppson's and try those.
Trev I found Devils River at my Total Wine. I will have some tonight and let you know what I think!
I cannot get enough of my Obtainium light whiskey. 13 year single barrel and it is the perfect dessert pour. Great video wrench!
You need to check out those picks we have coming out from them. Incredibly different from a normal light whiskey I’ve had from them or anyone else. 15 year old, I think it actually got some get amount of oak which is crazy for a light whiskey. Cheers man!
@@TheBourbonWrench I will definitely go for that! Cheers
That's a big if lol
Hahahah BIG if! But not gonna lie either, 5 of the 6 of these I got on my travels outside the state. I love looking for bottles when I’m traveling that I can’t get around here
Still Austin Cask-Strength I compared it to a 2009 9 year Knob Creek. Good stuff
Love Still Austin. I have some single barrel cask strength picks that are fantastic. One is 2.5 years old and one is 4.4 years old. New bottles show "Aged at least 4 years" on the back instead of the 2 years. But the 2.5 year old stuff is still amazing.
Well if this bottle says 2, I can’t imagine what the 4 year tastes like! They are killing it!
Another Texas Bottle you need to try is the single barrel Rebecca Creek Double Barrel Store Pick. Too delicious not to know about.
Anthony! Thanks for letting me know, I’ll try it!!! If I can find it…or, WHEN I find it
When you said Texas, and then set things up for 30-45 seconds, I was saying to myself, "Surely he's talking about Still Austin..." I tried a few Balcones and Garrison Brothers bottles and samples before, and those aren't for me. The Milam & Greene Triple Cask was the first Texas bottle (and it is only 1/3 Texan) that I enjoyed...until I had Still Austin. And the regular bottle, that uses slow water reduction for proofing, is solid as well. Single barrel picks are showing up as well. Their all-rye gin is delicious, as is their new 100% rye rye. It is a fun tour and tasting room (with like a huge yard) as well. Also...hard to find a better value for a store pick than those Juke Joint Survivor Barrels.
The survivor pick is phenomenal, but the regular pick my state got was exceptional as well!
Also, I’m right there with you about balcony and garrison bros. Some of those other offerings are TEXAS and still Austin is redefining that definition to me. Sooo good!
Glad to see you are still enjoying that tumbling dice! Love that bottle
You got me one banger of a pick!
Strange question - How do you like your shelves? Do you remember where you got them?
HSH shelf off of Amazon believe it or not. They were more expensive than most Amazon crap, but they are real wood. I attached them to the walls with a tilt safety and I love them. Might actually need another one!
@@TheBourbonWrench Awesome, thanks! I have gone down several rabbit holes looking for stable but good-looking shelves, but I couldn't really decide just based on looks and reviews.
I’d really just stick with real wood or some sort, especially sticking tons of bottles on them. I’d hate to trust my bottles to particle board
@@TheBourbonWrench Totally. I found the solid wood option that has 120 lbs capacity per shelf, as opposed to the manufactured wood that is only rated to 100 lbs. Thanks for the tip!
Cat's Eye is quite possibly the best MGP out there
We’ve made quite the relationship with Gene at cats eye, we have like 3 barrel picks coming from them lol. They are so dang good, and the people there are amazing.
@@TheBourbonWrench looking forward to the picks
@@RonMcClarin be sure to hydrate before them hahaha
I have had 5/6 of those and they are all great!
The Tumbling Dice is no joke. I have a couple bottles of the small batch, as well as a single barrel pick. Both are great pours. Awesome content. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
Absolutely! So glad I got one!!
I have one that tastes like bacon and maple syrup
I'm have a tumbling dice store pick that tastes like bacon and maple syrup. I've never had a blue note SiB, but I like the regular small batch
Well you’d love it as cask strength! Also, bacon and maple syrup doesn’t sound half bad hahaha
#ScrewTopGang
Screw tops need to come back into fashion
Light whisky...... Vodka with oak staves floating in a barrel. And we all know, that Vodka sucks unless it's used as a hand sanitizer ......
As someone who doesn’t pass up a good vodka drink, I’m telling you right now some light whiskey out there is amazing.
Quit giving out all our Texas secrets! But, if you see TX bourbon barrel strength or a 9 Banded cask strength...buy those no questions asked. Cheers!
You Texans have been killing it!
None available in Ohio.
Sup TREV! I was shocked by the Jeppson's that I bought on your recommendation. So good and unexpected. Cheers!!!
The clawwwww! It’s the screw top 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for the booze news . Going to have to put Those bottles on My Shopping List You have all the fun.🥃👍⚾️🔨🔨
Cheers brother! Let me know what you think of them when you get any of them!
Totally agree on th Tumbling Dice. Stupid name and label, but unreal juice for the price!
Just hiding in plain sight!
Love the Still Austin - love the Blue Note - haven't seen the others here in AZ, but I'll keep my eyes open for them. Great video!
Cheers buddy!!
Can't get any of these bottles in mass but would love to get all of them hands down . awesome video thanks for bringing them to light.
Cheers man! Just be on the lookout in your travels!
I just took a trip to Louisville, didn’t do a ton of hunting but went a few places hoping to find a Blue Note Juke Joint pick and struck out unfortunately. Been wanting to try one for a bit now. Cheers
Hopefully you can find one soon! Fantastic price on them too!
Great video buddy! Those Blue Note SiBs are crazy good, they are automatic buys for me if i see them. The Tumbling Dice is a new one for me, I'll have to track one down.
When you get one, lemme know what you think!!
Those blue note uncut bottles are absolutely incredible, and the survivor barrel story is crazy. I've been picking up any store picks I can because it's a 4 year bourbon and the Rick house collapsed in 2019, we are reaching the end of the survivor barrels
Are ALL of those picks part of the survivor? One of my picks has a sticker that definitely talks about being a survivor, and the other one is just a state pick which has no mention of it.
@@TheBourbonWrench looks like my last comment with the link was deleted, but the blue note website claims that all uncut bottles currently out are survivor bottles from the 2019 collapse. Honestly I don't know why more people are not jumping on these bottles, good juice and a story, how can you beat that.
@@joelacourse305 well dangit, I’m gonna go snag some more! Hey, more for us! Hahaha
Maryland just started carrying Still Austin. Picked up the Cask Strength to give it a try
Really think you’re going to enjoy it! Such a solid pour!
Last time I bought Juke Joint Uncut, it was $40 out the door. At that price, I'm surprised it took so long to sell out.
Same here!!! Which is STUPID good
The 1st time I tried the Obtainium it reminded me of an Old Carter.
As much as I love the carters, I’ve had some Obtainiums that are equally if not better. People have to realize that price doesn’t always equal greatness and that name Holds a lot of weight.
Our 15 year old obtainium is going to cost $69 and I’d personally put it up against the old carters I’ve had. 15 years, $69. I don’t know what else to tell people other than name = $$$
Tx for heads up on Devils River, can find much info, my Total Wine rep was pushing it for $49 last week, just came in, might pull the trigger based on your assessment ?
Is it the cask strength stuff?? I’ve heard people not like their regular offerings
Yes cask strength?
Just cracked open my Blue Note single barrel and Tumblin Dice single barrel. Both store picks from my local spot. The BN was an easy buy for 115proof at $41. They’re both pretty good for price
Cheers brother! Glad you at least enjoyed them!!!
@@TheBourbonWrench i got a lot of cinnamon and dark chocolate off of my Still Austin cask strength.
Tried three out of six and agree completely! Nice job wrench
Which ones have you tried??
@@TheBourbonWrench blue note, jeppsons, and tumblin dice. The blue note being my favorite of the three. Still Austin is on my list if I see it.
I had a 15 year 150 plus proof Obtainum light whiskey at a tasting and it surprisingly good. Good pick!
I really like the Blue Note.
Shoot I like pretty much all of their offerings I’ve tried!
Nice one! Watched this and decided to grab a Devils River store pick from my local. Picking it up on the weekend, can't wait to try it.
Had to report back. The Devils River barrel strength store picks are legit. Not sure I could find anything better for $40.
I haven't found a Tumblin Dice I like that much yet. They're dropping all around the area lately, our local club released a pick, another area club released theirs, and I've tried 2 others from last year and none of them are that great to me. Thankfully lots of other choices :)
Dang man! Maybe I just got a special bottle! Or our palates are just different on that bottle!
But the most logical reason is that you’re probably broken 😉 cheers Paul!
@@TheBourbonWrench oh im definitely broken lol
