I honestly cannot put into words how phenomenal this finale and, frankly, this entire show have been. This show is the best Marvel Studios has ever given us since Endgame! *PEAK MARVEL MEDIA!*

Bastion honestly became one of my favourite X-Men/Marvel villains after watching this show and this epic finale. Bro, the number of cameos in this series is INSANE! Cyclops and Jean saying goodbye to Cable/Nathan honestly has me in tears🥺.
YO THAT END CREDITS SCENE TEASING APOCALYSE FOR SEASON 2 AND HE'LL DEFINITELY BRING GAMIT BACK AS HIS HORESMAN OF DEATH! I can imagine how heartbroken Rogue will be when she is forced to fight the man she loves.

When Apocalypse pulled Gambit's card from the ashes and said Death that was a hint that Gambit will be resurrected as his Death version which is terrifying.

You should definitely watch the original series. This series has 76 episodes. So when you watch an episode every week, maybe you are finished when season 2 starts. 😂
Bastion was a fantastic villain.
He had a tragic backstory and how he ended up wasn’t his fault. Or wait, was it, because he seemed to be human-ish and capable of reason… so he chose to be what he became? Except he describes the Sentinel programming whispering to him, so was he doomed from the start and became a victim? Except he seemed to really enjoy his work…
Between his one-liners, ambiguous motivations and that sweet looking dark metal angel of death upgrade, just 👌
If the writing, scripting and story boarding stays this good in season 2, I can’t wait to see what they do with Apocalypse (the closest thing the original series had to a big bad, and man did he think big).

X-Men 97 overall is sheer excellence and it is the best modern animated series that I’ve ever seen in my life. The way Season 1 ended definitely makes me look forward to season 2 and to finally see Young Cable bond with his mother and father due to all this epic awesomeness

Gambit will be back as death. Even though Magneto and Rogue are married an have a kid in the alternative universe Age of Apocalypse, he and Rogue are happily married in the main comics.
Scott was Xavier's first student. Before that he was an orphan who was endlessly bulled by everyone around him. Xavier was a father to him and seeing a death certificate would be hard on anyone who almost had their parent assassinated and then just a few hours later was swooped away from him never to be seen again, regardless of whether they knew that parent would be alive in another galaxy. Cyclops is an awesome character. But too many hack writers rely on too many bad writers who have run him dirty going back to 1986 that not many people know how to write for him anymore. X-Men '97, thankfully, gets it right.
Bishop is a natural time traveler. It's been back and forth through around 5 different timelines going back to the original series.
In the comics, the consciousness of Scott and Jean are willed 2000 years into the future where they raise Nathan for 12 years under the guise of two people named "Slym" and "Redd." This takes place during the miniseries "The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix." They raise Nathan who will one day battle Apocalypse, which is the En Sabah Nur character the other X-Men discovered in the past. Meanwhile, without the X-Men in the present timeline, Apocalypse will be rebuilding his forces...

That post-credits scene definitely gave us some clues as to what we can expect when season 2 is happening. I'll let you know when season 2 is gonna start. As for now, I recommend the new season of Doctor Who that's still ongoing.
Magneto was not "buying time"... Come on, I 100% agree that Magneto makes some outstanding points but he literally intended for the earth 's magnetic filed to collapse which would have been devastating for the entire planet. As frustrating as Charles can be, he is the strategic mind that saved the day. He shut down Magneto to save the magnetic field, then his students shut down Bastion's sentinels, then he rehabilitates Magneto so that he can prevent the asteroid from hitting the planet. Charles is the man.

Kinda surprised Suzy didn't catch the Peter and MJ cameo. Though Peter is a little unassuming in animated form without the Spidey suit.
Fun fact: The X-Men and Spiderman series from the 90s are in the same universe and crossover twice in the latter show.

Apocalypse, once known as En Saba Nur, will raise Gambit as his Horseman of Death. Apocalypse is in all three time periods now

I’m glad they’re not going the way many thought it would. I haven’t read the comics so was interested to see the whole fuss about the big merge… but from those who read it, sounds like it’s just a big action filler.
This series from the original is always about hope and the rough journey to get there. Unlike many other crazy variations I’ve heard about in the comics.
So looks like we may be seeing what “he” meant when he said “I know more of this world than you can even dream. That is why I must destroy it!”

2:00 Yep, YT's algorithm doesn't work predictably for many things but you can bet money on being spoiled if you make the mistake of coming here 0,1s after a new episode drops. Thankfully most serious channels don't use thumbnails that give away THAT ONE SPECIFIC EVENT you'd want to experience fully, so whenever I make that mistake I usually still have the chance of leaving and only coming back after I watch it. 😅

I enjoy your reactions to X-Men '97! Even when your opinions differ from mine about the various characters or perspectives or factoids. You two are doing great and at least you get to watch an engrossing series.
My criticism, as a fan of Nightcrawler, is that he's doing this heart-to-heart routine with each of the characters in his episodes. In the books, he can be more than a just a flirt with the ladies. Maybe he can get a little romantic with an Egyptian priestess or something? One good thing about his therapy sessions with each of the other X-Men is that it's helped to establish a meaningful connection to the team in a short amount of time.
