Imagine how cool a miniature version of Sega's Time Traveler would be if they could somehow reproduce that 3D effect. Probably would cost too much to design but it would be a really neat. I like the idea of these tiny versions of machines and you can have them on a shelf like your own mini arcade.
You can have a mini arcade with these, I built one lol. I have their other games as well as the retro mini arcade mats and change machine that they sell that is also a USB power hub.
@HECTOR MONTALVO I'm 6'3" with fairly large hands, glasses, and I own three of these cabinets. I can assure you they are all extremely playable. Another company called Numbskull makes 1/4 scale games (so far only Namco titles like Pacman and Galaga), and to me theyre too big to sit on your desk. The point is the joy of having the arcade atmosphere chilling in your workspace or game room, to me the gameplay is a novelty that makes them even cooler. I didnt buy mine to have the perfect gameplay experience. I own Street Fighter II in 5 other PC, console, tablet, or handheld options so when I want to be truly competetive, that's where I go. But I love doing arcade runs on my little retrocade, and my expected high scores on games like Tempest are adjusted for the fact that I'm using tiny controls. My business partner and I have a running competition of topping high scores on these machines, so I think they have their own little niche that guests of your lair will appreciate. :)
Spent 100s of dollars at the rod & gun club in Katterbach, West Germany back in 1984. I finally could beat the game on 2 quarter credit after a month. Loved the fun on mah lunch break next to the heliport, yay DSB 2/57 USA.
Backed this in the kickstarter. Cant wait for the shipping notification. Looks like everything I hoped for. The only thing that could make it better is if I somehow get one of the two Don Bluth signed ones they're randomly replacing backer orders with.

I ordered this and despite the fact that I absolutely suck at this game, I am really looking forward to getting it and expanding my mini arcade. This is gonna look awesome next to my Street Fighter II cab.
You'll have it all memorized in no time. Im quite enjoying how manic and random it is. I can instantly see why I never really played it in the arcade. You have to fail over and over to learn your way through all the screens and at 50¢ there were too many other games competing for my little kid quarters back in the day ;)

For those wondering the little metal plate with the sticky pad is used to cover the logo on the coin door if you feel that you don't want to see the Replicade logo.
I saw a review of this and man this thing is cool... and to be honest, the price point is really agreeable for how much detail went into this. Compare this to say the Neo Geo Mini at launch which was a LITTLE less expensive... and what you have there is SO much nicer quality. Yeah, it doesn't have 50 licensed games on it, but it doesn't feel like it was made in China (even if it was). Dragons Lair was such an early arcade game, I'm sure people 10 or more years younger than me don't realize this... but when people were all hyped on their Atari 2600 in the early 80's, this was actually in the arcade... a cartoon you could control playing on a data media that wouldn't be mainstream for almost another decade. I want to say that this arcade came out before anyone even owned a VHS player that wasn't rich. Anyway, every time you'd see this at an arcade you would just stare at it, and pray some kid with a pocket full of quarters that would actually play it. $.50 a credit was a little steep especially considering how fast you could run out of lives. They made a Dragons Lair Saturday morning cartoon at one point too. Also... Daphne... sexiest cartoon that ever was.
So true, in the 80’s i made my 5 bucks last for more than 2 hours which is when it would be time to go home. Always checked if someone would play this but when they actually do they also die right away so i never really learned how to play this game until the 90’s when it was featured in a magazine with sega cd games of the same kind. This game definitely isn’t the greatest but it sure is timeless. Pre-ordered.
Love these games,there was Dragon's lair, Dragon's lair 2 was time warp,there's a part 3,also Space ace,Cliff hanger was the other laser disc game in the arcade,I can hear it saying "jump" in my head 🤣🤣🤣 and also another game I loved that was on the Sega cd was Time gal
I got mine last Saturday and the quality on this cab compared to the previous ones is night and day. The kickstarter they had for this definitely helped them improve the quality and I'm looking forward to future releases. I will add however, that I wish they would have made the Street Fighter 2 cab after Dragon's Lair so that some of that quality would have been implemented on that one as well. Anyway, enjoy your cab and hopefully you get through the 1st loop. After you beat the 1st loop, the game trolls you hard on the 2nd. haha
@@nickharris5231 It needs to have a 4:3 aspect ratio option, something to reduce the slight input lag, and an hdmi output. Everything else about it was fine. Also regarding the DL cab, the dragon's lair stick on the actual cab is stiff so this is somewhat accurate to the original arcade cab.
@@WickedElement fair enough. Im not convinced any of them need HDMI though. All of these games are easy to find in more playable form factors elsewhere if the game on a TV is what youre after. Or I should say, having HDMI is obviously better because it gives consumers more options in how to use them, but I don't miss it when it's not there. So I don't consider it a drawback of the earlier cabinets. Actually if I did have one complaint it's that the power button is in a different place and different style on each cabinet. Dragon's lair has a hard toggle switch low on the back right side, Street Fighter has the click/depress button switch on the top, Temoest has the click and hold button higher on the back left side... It would be nice to have them all uniform so you can go down the line powering them on. I like the button on top like Street fighter - - or the toggle switch on Dragon's Lair is super nice, but too low if you have a few lined up next to each other. At this point I hope they stick with one moving forward.

I love my sf2 game from these guys, but never been a big Dragon's Lair fan. I wouldn't want this at $100+. Hope they keep making more games. Tempest and Asteroids look awesome too.
It's really nice to see this spoting better than the usual shitty TFT you commonly find in things of this type. Even the Numskull Quarter Arcades don't use nice screens like this one.

But there are so many better ways to play street fighter on your TV. Get the 30th Anniversary collection, if has every iteration from street fighter 1 through the Alpha series, and Street Fighter III: Third Strike.

I bet it's to secure the Laser Disc Player replica inside the machine. That way if you carry it with you it's not rattling around in there...that's my guess anyway.
The laser disk goes with the little “laser disk player” that should be included in the packaging which is a replica of the one that was in the actual arcade machines. Check your packaging for it brother. It belongs on the back of the machine. ;) edit: you found it! I assume that’s what the double faces tape is for, to hold the LD Player in the device. Lol 😂
This runs the Daphne Emulator, so hopefully once they release the source code which is part of the GPL imagine the possibilities we can do with this, maybe add games?
Are HDMI ports always 2 directional? (Can I plug in another source and use the arcade machine as a mini monitor?) I know it wouldn't be optimal, but it may be fun.
It actually uses the F2 roms which never used the drawbridge footage on the disc. In fact until a fan created the Dragons Lair Enhanced roms it was never playable in the arcade version. It was used in almost all the home releases. Check out the Dragons Lair Project to learn more.

I just bought mine off eBay for $500 and it was the cheapest I have seen it. What a shame that the start up Kickstarter company who created these did so out of a desire to create something that was almost like collecting the full size machines and they have all been bought up and sold for a 200% markup and priced it out of the collectors who were the target market. Just as a side note the Daphanie and Kim statues sold for around $100 are selling for $999 if you can find them.
Ok, got mine today and IT SUCKS BALLZ! WTH NEW WAVE TOYS? Did anyone QA these? I now have a worthless POS on my hands from China. The game is totally out of flow. For instance, the opening scene is not there, then it jumps to the horse, then to the bats, randomly then to Daphne? WTF, TOTALLY DISSATISFIED AND GOING TO OPEN A CC CLAIM, B.S., WAITED OVER A YEAR FOR THIS CRAP, UNREAL. Anyone else having this issue with theirs? Any customer support? I've been ignored by NWT to this point, sucks...really sucks...$145 paperweight.
At first, I was not really interested in getting these small cabinets. Yes, they're neat but the size and not being able to hook it up to a bigger screen was a huge turn off for me. That appears to be a thing of the past. At current, I have both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 *physical disc version preordered. Let me pick those up at launch and the games I put $5.00 down on...I will then check this out. I didn't pay off the games for the new machines because the entire process was a mess at the time. Now that we know more I'm okay with everything. This holiday is really beginning to heat up. There is so many things my fiancee and I want...for the first time in awhile we're going to have to be a little more selective about what we get. By the time we're done at GameStop from both the 10th and 12th I wouldn't be surprised if we are pushing $1,500 in next generation stuff.

What do you think could be improved on Street Fighter? I actually think the buttons and stick on this one feel super stiff after Street Fighter.

I found out it's to cover the replicade logo on the front of the machine if you didn't like that look.

Did you all notice there’s a flaw in the rom it’s missing the first stage of the drawbridge. I’m hoping there’s a patch later to add that

By the time we're done at GameStop from both the 10th and 12th I wouldn't be surprised if we are pushing $1,500 in next generation stuff.
Again making people pay for an open source emulator.....
Have you even tried this? It's way more than just a copy of Daphne with DL. The build quality here goes above & beyond.
