    These are an absolute steal for $160. The amount of design, manufacturing, printing, assembly, and tooling that goes into making that thing look authentic is mind boggling. But to a person that just buys this stuff, that effort and cost would be lost on you.

    The attention to detail on these 1/6 cabs is really incredible. We live in amazing times that we get to experience these shrunk down replicas, decades after they were originally released.
    As you say, they are not for everyone but they are a dream come true for the people who do appreciate them.
    Thanks for the unboxing Ron. 👍

    Sadly NWT only releases a tiny amount of units before discontinuing them. These often bought NOT by gamers but toy collectors who turnaround and sell them for 5 times the amount. I saw a NWT Centipede unit on ebay $800.

    • @wiredawg2005
      @wiredawg2005 Год назад

      Yep, capitalism at work. I am only willing to pay so much...I missed out on the first few Replicades. I would have loved to have centipede, tempest & Street Fighter II. Really sad about Street Fighter II, though. That one just changed the arcade game forever. I probably put more quarters into this game than any others. But I still have my heart in those classics Pacman, Mrs. Pacman, Galaga (numbskull quarter arcade), another company I just discovered. Really interest in the upcoming Space Invaders release, which is supposed to be in Nov 2023. I did not pre-order, just hoping to see a review and find it available after release at a reasonable price. As far as New Wave, I pre-order the Ghost N Goblins and the recently announced Berserk.

      @@sandy60 You are wrong, and as a matter of fact; most of the units that they produce increase in value dramatically once they stop making them. They are surely worth $160... Not every gamer cares solely about quantity . This is quality... there is a big difference. Perhaps some day you will realize that it is not all about pirating games on a raspberry pi for as little investment as possible..

      @@sandy60 Its for collectors that value the artistic value of having something so close to the original. Unfortunately the current generation does not value the effort put into this by the maker. It is surely worth more than $25. They are meant for collecting, and for display, although I am pretty sure that they can be connected to a TV, and you can use other controllers if you would like to. Stop being haters, and appreciate the effort here to make quality products. this is not for the person that buys a raspberry Pi and just pirates all of the software. It is for the real fan that appreciates the efforts of the creators.

    When asking if it's worth $160 consider what price it would need to be for a generic Chinese knock-off version. Could they ship something of the exact same quality and with the same attention to detail for $99? That could be difficult and the quality might suffer. So maybe try arguing the price could possibly be $120... but then the company wouldn't be making much profit from the product. It's not a mass market product so they can't rely on economy of scale, they have to find some way to profit enough to make limited run releases like this.
