Jungle Train Adventure - Kuala Lipis / Part I
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 8 сен 2024
- This video is the beginning of a Jungle adventure this time by train, this route is known as the Jungle Train or the The East Coast Line.
We started in Kuala Lipis a town 160km north east of Kuala Lumpur.
Kuala Lipis was a gold-mining centre before the British arrived in 1887.
In 1898, it became the capital of Pahang until 1953. During this time, grand colonial buildings, such as the imposing District Offices and the Clifford School, and the Pahang Club were built. The hilltop house of the British Resident is now a hotel and museum.
The town grew and prospered with the coming of the railway in 1924. However, in August 1955, the state capital was shifted to Kuantan, and Kuala Lipis fell into a decline.
We highly recommend spending at least a day there to visit the old town.
Now onto the train journey...
Part II coming soon...
It runs from Tumpat just north of Kota Bharu in Kelantan down to Gemas in Negeri Sembilan where it joins with the west coast line which runs all the way from Singapore to Bangkok via Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur and Penang.
The name 'East Coast Line' is rather misleading - once the train leaves Tumpat it goes nowhere near the sea. Perhaps it is so-called because it links the east coast state of Kelantan to the rest of Malaysia's rail network. Jungle Railway is a more accurate description because it passes through the sparsely populated and heavily forested interior of Peninsula Malaysia and skirts the Taman Negara and Kenong Rimba national parks.

not nice hello
Malaysians are so nice. We’ve had the same experience many times before - when you go to pay and the shopkeeper refuses! We usually drop the money in the counter and run too, lol! Good video
Yeah they are too nice 😄
Thanks guys 😉😉😉
This channel really open our mind about rural areas of Malaysia which not many tourist came to. As Malaysians we truly appreciate your journey dscovering the land and the ppl. Thanksss for your vlog. Keep it coming. Stay safe and have funnnnnnnn
Aww thanks so much, we really like being in rural areas because it’s still very unique there. 😁😁😄
Our next vlogs will be in even more rural parts of Malaysia so keep tuned for what’s coming next 😉😉😉
Thanks for your kind words and stay safe ☺️
That lime vanilla ice cream you had is every Malaysian Childhood ice cream. 🙂
Hey I from Kuala Lipis. Thank you for making a video about my hometown and encourage people to visit our town. It means a lot to us. Stay safe love 🤗🥰
Thank you 🙏
I clicked your video from RUclips recommendation. Not every tourist/traveller will visit Kuala Lipis. It's underrated place. Good video btw.. take care & have a nice journey 😁🙌
Thank you ☺️
Hope you enjoyed our video and stick around for our next videos 😉😉😁

The weather in Malaysia:
January-March=hot
April-August= very hot
November&December=rain from morning to night
I have never been to Kuala Lipis .. and so your video provided me with a good insight of the town .. the only thing I know about kuala lipis is that it is the hometown of msia's no 1 singer .. Siti Nurhaliza .. as usual I love watching your video .. it is very interesting .. informative and inspiring .. can't wait for part 2 .. please stay safe .. have fun and take care .. ❤
Kuala Lipis is worth a visit and it’s so close to KL it makes it a perfect weekend trip for people living there 😁
Thank you for your support and hope you enjoy our next video ahah 😁😁
Ex pm najib razak was born here.
When i was 24, I joined a Co building the semi highway linking Kuala lipis to border of kelantan. Those days, there were ppl living on the bamboo raft plying the river, similar to hk boat ppl. Nothing much tourists can explore as there was no Internet, GPS
Well come to Malaysia. I worked in Kuala Lipis in 1991 till 1993. Those days the town was not so we'll developed compare to today. It is a beautiful town. Every 2 or 3 years, I go to visit the place. My journey to K. Lipis is around 4 hours by car. Portugal is very beautiful country. I have been there 5 years back.
Wooow hope you enjoyed Portugal 🇵🇹 our country 😃😃😃
@Travelgramers You were in Turkey recently, really loved your videos on Turkey, and I travelled to Turkey last year. Also, I was born in Kuala Lipis, my birthplace and here you are in Malaysia. What a coincidence!
Traveling in Asia, always remember to wake up early, to catch the activities of locals, then go back to hotel or hostel to nap in the noon or afternoon time 2pm 4pm or 1-3pm, have a cool shower, then come out again to have a walk around and enjoy dinner.
Really...no words can express enough how amazing is to see that the Universe is totally with you since the very very beginning! You are following your Hearts, and the World is following with you... Big hug from Portugal! So proud!
Muito muito obrigada 😊

KB is full of surprise on how many delicious food you can find over there, such as Nasi Dagang, Nasi Berlauk (either gulai ayam (chicken) or ikan (fish), Sup Belut (eel soup), ayam perchik and many more, and for Terengganu, if you plan to go there, never miss Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Redang or Pulau Lang Tengah, it is a hidden gem waiting for you and the water is really Crystal clear....make sure you don't miss out
Thank you for the tips, we won’t be visiting any islands on the side this time but we will keep all the recommendations in mind 😁😁
Beautiful city, one of my favorite memories. That room is huge! Most are about 1 foot wider than the bed.
my hometown. tq guys!
Welcome to East Coast, come to Kuala Terengganu if you can
We might go there, still don’t have a plan after KB 😉😉
Cool, as a Malaysian myself i have not been to kuala lipis. Is a real adventure, as I normally just see big cities in Malaysia, i need to open my eyes wider for rural location 😊😊😊😊
Please come. Try pulut (glutinous rice) with rendang hitam (beef rendang). Visit the old buildings and meet the people.
3:59 love that ice cream. Nice hotel.
Can’t go wrong with those 😄😄😝

We did very much 😄😃
@@Travelgramers hehexx next time invite me I join with u😂
Ok. now i felt weird.. I followed (and subscribed of course) both of you since early Malaysia visit, then langkawi, then stuck on lockdown, then now.. you just arrived to Kuala Lipis, my HOMETOWN. Lol.
In it's glorious day, many tourist come there to go to Kenong Rimba Park. And K. Lipis do act as 2nd main drop point to Taman Negara (after jerantut). Kenong rimba park previously a well known places for jungle lover, somehow sadly as we known it has been damaged now.. due to illegal & legal logging activities .
If you not have much plan, after gua musang, you can go back a little bit to Merapoh. There's another entrance to Taman Negara (probably the 3rd or 4th entrance - each are different experience and area attraction) however im not sure it still close or open for now.
Wow thanks so much for your support and recommendations, we have no idea where to go now so we might consider Merapoh 😃😃😉
@@Travelgramers Merapoh wasn't have much to do, its just a common rural residential area. But the nature tour into Taman Negara is another wonder story. They got waterfalls, boating thru caves, kelah (a rare type of local fish) sanctuary, and so on.
Here's from local newspaper www.nst.com.my/lifestyle/jom/2020/07/612726/natural-wonder-merapoh
The contact number is there, too. Im not sure walk-in the packages availability or by reservation only because it may include 4 x 4 adventure to reach the destination. But for whom love nature, this might be 1 of the best. :)
Wow thanks so much for all the info we will look into it 😉😉😉😉
Welcome to my mother's hometown! My late grandfather and great grandfather was a school teacher in this district back days. Kuala Lipis just like many other town in Malaysia, multiraces, peaceful and harmony. This town actually divided into two parts, the new and old. There's a lot of colonial era building surrounding this town that you can explore actually, as well a gate to State Park and National Park.
However without a doubt jungle train is the best experience that you can enjoy in Kuala Lipis. Journey to the most rural part in the Peninsular. The best part they have train-stop in every village. Back days, train station is the most busiest place in town. People used to carry stocks from their farm to this town. Imagine siting next to cage of chicken and your uncle carrying a riffle to go hunting trip. That's extremely cool. I missed early 80's.
What a nice place. 2 week before mco i was there. Kuala lipis. 👍 . My father was born at kuala lipis. So we 1 family only when there for memories my father.
Thanks for ur wonderful videos. Great material. Great job! Enjoy msia
Thanks a lot 😁
The fun thing...and really surprise me is the hotel old type tv.
Ahahah you don’t get to see them very often now a days 🤣
@@Travelgramers i still have it in my house, i still do not change to the new ones.. 😊
Hi guys, nice video. Once you get to Gua Musang, stop a while at the railway station and admire the view from the right of the station - beautiful mountainous scenery. Once upon a time the "Jungle Railway" train was called the Golden Blowpipe.
We just came from Gua Musang, beautiful place 😁😁😁
A lot more colonial buildings at Bukit Bius, Kuala Lipis. There are also 2 tombs of colonial times, besides Lipis Center Point building. The slowly and steady Kuala Lipis.
i live & work in kl city more than 12 years but k.lipis is my hometown.I alwys go back to lipis twice in a month.Just 2 an half hours drive from kl.njoy ur trips & b safe!
We really enjoyed Kuala Lipis 😁😁😁

Love Kuala Lipis.
Dont forget to try 'Black Rendang/Rendang Hitam', only in lipis.
Kuala Lipis is the first capital city of Malaysia before moved to Kuala Lumpur .
We didn’t try unfortunately 😅
Lovely thank you.
OMG!! MY HOMETOWN and i also in kuala lipis!! the jungle train time is 5.10am early in the morning(sometime will delay). have fun yooo
7:22 kuala lipis (0) , the place must to take photo, the first (0) in malaysia
There’s later trains throughout the day we didn’t have to wake up that early 🙃🙃🙃😁
Been following both of you on your travels for few months.. this vlog loved the way both of you explored and filmed esp all the old buildings and esp the details in the Chinese temple too.i find budget hotels in smaller quiet towns or less popular with international tourist prices not as cheap as compared to popular places or even KL budget hotels can be cheaper than small towns.. hawker prices can be cheaper or around same price .. stay safe, take precautions and enjoy your life ok.. thanks for sharing so many of your travel tips and journey with us..
Thank you so much, glad that you find our videos interesting and keep following our journey 😁

You are so fortunate to have an opportunity to experience the east coast railway. In few years this railway will be demolish to give way for double electric railway. I as malaysiaan also never has opportunity to experience this
We heard they are keeping this track and just building the electric one but we are not sure 🤔

This is a malaysia culture to welcome a foreign visit here ( provide a free drink ) , the best not to reject but do a good video to advertise its shop n the food or drink
Aww that was a really nice gesture but we wouldn’t feel comfortable not paying for our drink so we left the money on the counter and said thank you to the lady like a thousand time before we left
@@Travelgramers hope you can enjoy malaysian culture
We are enjoying it very much 😁
@@Travelgramers Malaysian like foreign to exchange culture, a tip for you each time you visit a food , first introduce yourself as a you tuder want to introduce for your viewer than you might get a special treatment , like free payment or extrafood
We wouldn’t feel comfortable doing that, we usually go to very small local business to eat, we don’t say that would never accept anything for free in exchange for a video but not from these type of business, plus we don’t make videos to have free stuff we just make videos to mainly share our travels 😉😁😁
