This is a vee bottom boat, the best wave splitting styled hull. Being on the ocean all my life commercial fishing through the winter off the northern coast of Maine. I only have vee bottom boats. Just bought a 23 ultra lx and can't wait to start skipping swells with it. The characteristics of vee bottom are many. Walk to one side and the other will hit you in th back of the head. If it's not properly loaded and not under power it's unstable. Properly driven it will take a wave better than a boat twice it's size. It will use more fuel especially at lower speeds. You will dust the competition in most every water condition. Large catamarans are strong competition at high speed offshore conditions. Those things fly over the water very well until you stuff it. A vee always splits it. This review is very good for showing people how not to use a vee bottom without even seeing him in action. People like this should have flat water boats. Gas mileage, really. You want to play with at the top then you can expect to pay at the top. The reality is that a 300 hp boat will easily use over 30 gallons per hour or more. This thing uses 24 gph. It's economical by performance standards. You don't buy a ski like this to put around in a puddle. It's made to fly at sea.
It’s clear this ski is not for you. I’ve been riding a Kawasaki 300 for years out here in So Cal and it’s by far the best Ocean Boat made. Can’t wait to get the new 23’ version. You have to buy a Ski that meats your style and your needs. The FX is a great fuel efficient cruiser and the GP is fast as H..l. Haven’t owned a Sea Doo yet and once I do I’ll go over my thoughts on that as well . 👍23’ Ultra’s
Thanks for the review - I bought two of these at Christmas and looking forward to getting them in the water here in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully the mpg does improve the more the machine is ridden. 1/2 tank gas is pretty bad for a break in purposes! Good video !
My 2023 310 LX gets on average of 80 miles a tank of fuel. The leaning problem is probably the foot wells having alot of water on one side. Throws off the balance especially at low speeds. My FX SVHO took more water over the bow than my 310 Ultra. The deflectors work great. I had to drive half the bow into the water for the water to run over the deflectors. The Ultra does have its flaws but performance is not one of them.
Did you do any research before buying this ski? The gas consumption of any SC ski is worse than the NA ski you had. It is narrower than the SD you had and deeper V hull so it would naturally be "tippy" in comparison. Water in foot well?? That is what the trigger on the right side handlebar is for.
Mpg improves the more you ride it. However, this ski burns gas it is a hp beast! The lean is likely the waterbox. Not sure if it was moved in the redesigned. But this is normal. Choppy water and low speed will have water over the bow. Increase speed to get the bow out of the water. Its a ski, intended for riding it like a normal ski. The trophy is meant for fishing and is made to be more stable.
I’m a Yamaha and seadoo guy but you just straight being bias .. you can’t compare a basic big fishing ski to a sport ski . It’s obvious you to big for a sport Aki . You should get the Yamaha suv ski that’s would fit you very well ..
A deep V hull on a ski won’t stabilise at low speed and trim won’t do anything until you get going. Like any new engine, they will be terrible on fuel until fully run in. Water in the footwells seems annoying though.
Good video, Who gets a full day in the water with a supercharged Kawi, or who buys a supercharged model expecting spark consumption? Wait for the 2024 Ultra LX.
@@riverwalktalesofterror8045160 @ full open throttle is around 11.5gph. A lot less on a daily ride style, 30 to 40 mph. Vs 310 24gph.... yes it's a lot less, same 1500cc as always.
Is it possible that you have the the trim control set that pushes the front down is why you have lots of water coming up over the front of your ski? Just a thought.
I have two 310x Traded txt 300 and gp1800 Kawasaki is the best in the Ocean fiberglass Gelcoat it flies through the waves It does get you wet and eats gas and it doesn’t have a brake like the Sea-Doo don’t accidentally Touch the reverse lever when you’re going fast I learned the hard way it’s in the manual
I have the 2021 310X, the gas mileage sucks. However I didn't buy it for the gas economy, I wanted the supercharged power. I usually get about 1.5 hrs ride time on a tank. Still love it though, would not have bought anything else.
😂. It's not a Fish Pro type ski.... it's a sport model not a cruiser. Can't even compare the 2 and I've never met anyone who buys a PWC of any kind for MPG 😅
It’s not. This JetSki is one of the best Hulls for rough water, and it’s a sporty ride if you want it to be. MPG is what it is. I’ve had an Ultra since 2012, with a new 2022, and won’t change. 👍
I have a 2019 Ultra LX non turbo and its great on fuel. Im not beating anyone in a race on flat water, but go out in some chop and they're having a much harder time.
It’s like this guy knows nothing about the Kawasaki jet skis. These are all knows characteristics. Comparing a supercharged ski to a non supercharged ski for fuel consumption is idiotic. This guy is obviously a beginner and shouldn’t be giving reviews, doesn’t have enough experience.
It’s kinda important. It’s not great to have to stay close to a gas station all the time. if one is even close. Usually they are well inside of an idle zone. So to have to head back in for a $90 fill up every hour or so would ruin almost any day on the water. I have a supercharged Yamaha and can get around 3.5 hrs with an 18.5 gallon tank. These Kawis take 21 gallons. They seem pretty nice otherwise tho.
Reviews of products should be done only by people whonusedbthe product at least a year. Anything else is useless . I use a product inlear features and sweet spots only after months of use. No way anyone jumping on a jet ski will make a meaningful and contributing review of a 25,000$ product packed with improvements honed by years of customer feedback. I happen to own this jet ski. I have it a month. Still learning it. I am not near reviewing it. Its very good jet ski but i need to get way more experience on it.
Appreciate the review and time that took. But, It sounds like you bought a Formula 1 race car as a daily driver. PWCs have evolved to the point they can have very specific uses. If you like the Kawi go down to the Ultra 160, if you still like your old Sea Doo, try the GTI or GTX models, and of course, Yamaha has the FX Cruiser. Best of luck.

That fact that is proven the Kawasaki has better handling than any other brand on rough makes this guy sounds bias ..

How do you like them?
Sea doo break in is first 10 hours. How much fuel does that take 2-3 tanks

Wow thx for the review. I’ll get a paddle board instead. Easier on the wallet.

Will the 2024 have much better fuel efficiency?

So how is you fuel consumption after break in?

Use dots and commas, boss.

At low speeds it becomes a very tippy machine for some reason my ultra lx does the same thing

The 310 is the worst at gads consumption of any ski made. Most reviews skip that. Its horrible.
This is not true you can rip it from the start
Wet ride? Um sir this is a jet ski...
