It's strange how when a song is played at a funeral that song is forever changed, differently, inside your own mind, whenever you hear it. And you always remember it. RIP Kevin.
This song always gonna be deep for me. I had my oldest daughter 4 months before I lost my Mom. We knew my Mom had limited time. I named my oldest daughter after her. She's the only grandchild my Mom met. She would have 6 grandbabies now 💜
@@Cynnas no one knew what a placenta was until we heard it fall to the floor in the song and the next day in school e everyone was talking about what a placenta was!! Epic time to be alive in the 90s as a HS student in America
@@Cynnas wish I had the pleasure of attending one of their concerts ..even tho this was in my time..I didn't go to a real concert until a few years ago..not that I didn't want to just cuz I didn't have the opportunity..I love their music and would've loved to see them live
When I think of Live I also think of Collective Soul, when I’m in that mood I throw on a mix of Collective Souls self-titled album, Disciplined Breakdown, and Throwing Copper.
I'm always proud to say the guys from Live are from my small city in Pa. They're very down to earth. Hanging out at the local bars and restaurants, like no big. They've invested alot into the local community. They're really cool guys.
It was actually about a high school classmate dying. The guys were just out of high school age/ early 20's when the wrote this. They weren't parents yet.
Loved your reaction, Ms. India. Please if you could try another one by them, Live "I Alone" from the same album. It really shows off the singers voice too. Thank you!
Thank you for this reaction. This song was written about a girl that went to high school with Ed Kowalczyk (lead singer). She'd been in a collision with a drunk driver fleeing an armed robbery. She was an organ donor. He saw this as the circle of life. In a symbolic reincarnation, he described Barb's blue eyes and confusion being given to the newborn down the hall as she passes. It's an interesting take to think that we no longer own our confusion once we've passed away. It's a spiritual, connected-to-everyone spin on dying. I prefer it. He's got such an amazing voice. I was in love with this singer as a teen when this song came out. I'm over it now but he still holds a special past-crush place in my heart. New subscriber!! ❤️ Much love!!
Live is one of my favorite bands...they are so phenomenal in concert and their songs are full of heart and meaning. Ed has one of the most amazing voices in rock and the band is equal to his talents. Love this reaction video. I feel the emotions come through.
LIVE, One of the most underrated bands of the 90’s. Throwing Copper was a gemstone of an album from beginning to end. Great reaction sweetie. Thank you 🙏🏻 your so real I love watching you.
I love to watch your reactions and how you get the music. This song came out around the time my first child was born. It still gives me chills. Love you!
I fell in love with this guy (Ed) the first time I saw him in the way backs on MTV, he had a powerhouse voice and always gave 110. He is still a great singer/songwriter but has mellowed from his wildman days.
The placenta would definitely go on the floor if someone didn't catch it. The nurses are usually ready for it. lol Anyway, I always interpreted this to be that the "old mother's" soul went into the new "baby down the hall." I love, love, love this song. Once when a local radio disc jockey said on the air that it was a depressing song about abortion (the placenta line had confused him), I HAD to call him and explain it is not at all about that...that it's about reincarnation. "Forces pulling from the earth again....I can feel it, coming back again." This is a profound, and in a way joyful, song. Thank you for reacting to it.
My favorite band of all time, this is one of the best to be introduced to their themes. LIVE is amazing, more people need to know that they had other incredible albums beyond this one.
Beautiful song. Saw these guys in concert. They were actually pretty good. How fragile life is...and how short our time. All gone...in a flash of light.
They won't be. They're planning a new tour and Ed is actually coming back as lead singer. Course now with this stinkin pandemic who knows when it will be able to start.

American radio stations would not play this song when it was originally released. MTV did air the music video for the song, and this was the reason why the song became a modest success here in the US.
Thank you for that reaction India. Fantastic song from one of the best bands of the 90’s. The song was written by Ed Kowalczyk (lead singer), and dedicated by the band to a high school friend that had been killed by a drunk driver. It’s about the cycle of life and death. It’s a song close to my heart.
Love that you reacted to my favorite song of all time. Yes this song is about resurrection, no life is wasted, if you are worthy you will be a wonderful person again.
It sounds nice, but i gotta ask this.....what is it all for then?....why must we continue to live this hell on earth time after time, where birth is the happiest it will ever be? sounds like a big tease to me
What this song means to me is we only see the beauty in the birth of a new life but death is just as beautiful....the whole of the circle is beautiful❤
This is one of the most emotional songs ever, it's really hard to keep your eyes dry when listening to it... great choice! I can suggest another emotional song to react to: "Into The Light" by In This Moment.
You put up this video 1 month and 4 days before my husband died, I just noticed that. This song has always torn me up, more so now of course. Ed K's voice is amazing and you should check out their albums. You hear in Ed's voice the wild pain that comes over you with the death of someone you love. Thank you for sharing your reaction.
This band is from York, Pennsylvania. The lead singers father was my youngest sons teacher in Jr. High school. He got this CD autographed by the band. They are a very underrated band, they have a good catalog of music.
I used to listen to this on a cassette walkman while running through a cementary. Powerful imagery. Gosh, these musicians are probably old now. Where did the time go?
I’ve always interpreted this song as the mother and child dies in the beginning and down the hall the mother and child thrive. The crushing pain that some get thrown and yet life blesses birth to others seemingly at random. The confusion, the pain, the love, the hope. Life is never clear cut and can deliver beauty and pain in a flash of lighting and one should understand the magnitude
Song is about the cycle of life and death in a hospital. Was also dedicated to a friend of the band who was killed by a getaway car during a robbery around the time of this release. A lot of people think the video shows a mother dying during childbirth but this is not the case.
She came into the video all happy, 10 secs into the song a huge change in mood. I love this song, my buddies an I used to listen to it back in highschool
As a young teen I hear this song from my older brothers and it brings so much memories! Thank you Live! I can say I love just almost every song of Throwing Copper. Still listening to Live today!
This song really gets me emotional. It’s been 2 years since I lost my grandma & it still feels fresh, now just last week one of my sisters announced she’s pregnant so we’re all pretty excited especially our mom :) it’s her first grand baby
Wow! You nailed it first time too I might add. It is about the cycle of life. As the one dies, just down the hall in another room a new life begins. That took me several times to pick up on this circle of life theme addressed in this song but you got it right off the bat! I stand amazed. 👍
Good reaction. I saw this as a cycle of life thing. The new mother cries, the placenta hits the floor. Then the old woman dies, her intentions hit the floor. The confusion that was her's, now belongs to the baby down the hall.
I love "Live"! All of their songs are awesome and Ed can sing wow, I love "Pillar of Davidson", "Turn my Head," "Selling the Drama," "The Distance," but I think my all-time favourite besides "Lightning Crashes" (because it makes me cry every, damned time) is "Waitress," not that it's to everyone's taste and he curses in it, but I LOVE the music and the message because yes, we are all worth some effing change!!
Absolutely loved this I know this is older. You’re the first reaction I’ve seen that actually got the meaning of the song straight off the bat. Loved it 💛✨✨
Ed Kowelczyk, the singer, is a very interesting character. Has always been deep into religion, mysticism, philosophy, poetry etc... give “They Stood up for Love” a listen... very good song.
This song always makes me cry I lost my fiancée the year before it was released. For 4 years that girl was my everything. From the moment we started dating till the day she was killed we were connected at the hip. When i had to go identify her body I aske the M.E. to keep her face covered because I didn't want to remember her this way. I saw that the police and M.E. were a little puzzled. I just looked at them and said when you spend every moment for the last four years, with someone, you dont need to see their face to have to identify them.
This song grabs you by the soul & DOESN'T LET GO.
This song gets me every damn time. Sweaty eyes.
my eyes do the same
😢 yep me too , I don't even have kids
Yes...
I swear I was cutting onions

You’re mother is with all of you, and you will all see her again.
THAT's what the song is suppose to be about. New life in the shadow of death. Having recently lost my dad I do feel sorry for your loss.
Deep tune circle of life
I’m sorry but happy she got to meet your first daughter.
My Dad died on my Mom's birthday and I gave birth to my daughter 2 months later on his birthday. Life is weird

They were great live too. Saw them in the mid 90s, 95? One of the best concerts I've been to.
