Thanks a lot for you working. I don't impose but ЦИАТИМ-221 or ВНИИ НП-290 is most suitable for all soviet lenses. These ones are included in soviet standarts of optical greases and have "silicon base". Also suitable greases are ОКБ-122-7; ВНИИ НП-299 and possibly Helimax XP and Molykote 33 Light. Циатим-201 is very cheap and have no advantages to be used. I hope it makes your working result better.
Nice and easy to follow video, but maybe it would be better if the old grease was cleaned out with some lighter fluid, and then lube it again. Just a note. Keep up the job :-)
Well, of course it is better to clean it up completely. But it is too difficult for average user to perform, so i opted for a 'light' cleaning tutorial. it helps in 80-85% of cases
I was waiting for your video, i knew you would upload, i am so grateful that you help us, i am thankful that there are still great persons like you who keep their promises. I have this lens and i love it as it is a great portrait lens which i use on my M4/3 system. I have some questions before disassembling, aperture blades sometimes gets stuck and not closes fully to f 16 i need to move the ring back and forth to make it all closed, do you recommend disassembling/cleaning it all just for this issue? and can i use ''Castrol'' car engine oil or olive oil? or WD 40? i am having a difficulty on oil choice as i have no access to the oil you mentioned. And brother do you recommend buying 44-2 version after owning this lens? will it have any other extra difference? i have Jupiter 37 A in my mind to buy, and last question what is the widest angle soviet lens you would recommend to use on M4/3 system? i know about Industar 69 but is there more wider soviet lens for landscape shots? Вам большое спасибо брат!
Hi! You can't use whatever oil to lubricate it. you use oil i've mentionned, it can be found in every hunting store, they are widespread. Ultimately you can use liquid oil for sewing machine, but it is not really recommended. Or you can use ciatim-201, this grease was created for such purposes, but in this case you need to fully disassemble focus mechanism, clean up old grease and apply a new one. Do not use WD-40, it is not a grease. Aperture blades a bit stuck-i have a video on my channel explaining how to fix this, please check up. I do not recommend 44-2 after 77m-4, because 77m-4 is better in all senses. For m4/3 i think industar-69 is best, because it was made for half frame camera, so on your crop-factor m43 system it will give 28 mm of focal approximately. There is also a very nice mir-20m, 3.5/20mm, but it is for full frame bodies and expensive, on your system, it will make 45-50 mm of focal. Just get a good copy of industar-69, adjust infinity following my tutorial and i think you'll be happy with your landscapes
It depends of factory-manufacturer. In generall i think it will be the same. Just try to open lens and compare to what i had in my tutorial. Simply as a pie.

Retro Foto House Yeah, that's true, it's not an easy job for many people maybe it's a too delicate to fix those old lenses.
Cheers
Kenneth
Maybe is better grease instead that oil
My focusing ring is loose and doesn’t work. It turns easily but there is no focusing action. Any ideas? Thanks.
yes, the little screws inside, holding external and internal rings are loose and do not hold them together.

Is the helios 44m-5 similar to this lens? Can I do it the same way? Thank you very much for this detailed tutorial!

Thank you for the quick reply!
