Do you have a recommendation on a metal cake stand and, related, do you feel like it's worth the splurge when I'm not sure how many cakes I'll make? I know my daughter hates our super cheap stuff when she tries to buttercream a cake, so you've made it pretty clear that it isn't just her being a whiny teenager. ;)

It is absolutely worth every penny splurging on the metal tools, it is so much easier to clean and the way the metal turn table turns is smoother then the plastic ones. (You can also use them as a cake stand for display) The plastic ones do wear over time, the silicone on them starts chipping away. Hope this helps! And have so much fun making your cakes!
