I agree. Times were much better even though I wasn't even around then, it seems that things are just better when they are simpler in most cases. Simpler times man
Your opinion but 73 is pass seniors years also the young are dying faster these years in terms of violence more so than older people. RIP Olivia Hussey
My dad is in his 70s (I was born late) and this is just so upsetting to see. I have Olivia’s book and I’m such an admirer of both her and her daughter India. She was so active online as well, my sister got so excited one day when she replied to her. She was Always posting about animals and she was just so vibrant and was focused on healthy living. She took great care of her health after her scare with breast cancer (60s chain smoking and drinking as a school girl was so normalized then)…I’m so gutted. She really was my muse for every stage of life, she was a timeless beauty and whip smart.
She was the most beautiful actress as Juliet and will be forever missed. I adored her. Saw the film when I was 13. I had the LP, the paperback, knew all the lines. My first intro to Shakespeare. 💐💐💐💐
Olivia Hussey was so perfect for that role as Juliet, yet she was not director Zeffirelli's first choice. As he recounts in his autobiography he wanted another girl with beautiful long hair for the part but when she showed up for rehearsal she had cut her lovely hair for the unisex look at the time. He knew a wig would not work so he settled for second choice Olivia, and, as he realized, it turned out wonderfully. So he points out that directors like him are only instruments of God.
@@PatricisSeverson Oh and she was also in the horror movie Black Christmas and Stephen King’s It miniseries. She was also the mother of India Eisley who was from Underworld: Awakening.
I saw this movie in 1969 aged 12 years. It had a profound affect on me. I cried for 3 days. I was inconsolable. Must have been hormonal. The beauty of the production, the story and the script was simply overwhelming. I was so impressed by William Shakespeare I was in awe. How could anyone write something so intertwining, intrigueing and beautiful?
Olivia Hussey was a great soul, she was an amazing and beautiful actress. I recognised her role as Mother Mary in the 1977 Miniseries "Jesus of Nazareth", and Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet". She had loved animals so dearly and loved art and spiritually. Sad that she passed. RIP Olivia 🕊️ 💜
I first became aware of her when I was a freshman in high school. We were shown the Franco Zefferelli's version of Romeo and Juliet in our school auditorium and needless to say...I feel in love. A beautiful woman whose acting talent was incredible.
In 6th grade we watched a performance, then read the play, getting spoonfed great literature. We got to see Romeo and Juliet with Olivia Hussey! Her enchanting acting made Shakespeare feel modern and relatable. She will always be an iconic Juliet💖
Poor lady. I remember seeing her for the first time in Romeo and Juliette. I always thought of her since then from time to time because of how incredibly beautiful she was. Amazing
Sad to hear. I haven't watched Black Christmas yet this year (I usually do around Christmas), I'll have to do that. R.I.P., Olivia, you will be fondly remembered.
I remember watching her for the first time in the movie Romeo and Juliet back in 2006 middle school 9th grade , i was left stunned after seeing her , she was incredibly beautiful and hot . For me in terms of beauty she is right up there with monica bellauci , this is such a sad news
Oh no, gut punch! Lifelong fan here. I'm barely younger than her. The most beautiful Juliet possible. She had a lovely personality in interviews. My heart goes out to her children and husband. And to Len Whiting, her Romeo.
R.I.P. Olivia Hussey. 1968 (my birth year) version of Romeo & Juliet was the greatest version for me hands down. It made me a lover of Shakespeare and words in general.
One of those news stories that has a tiny shock factor in that it reminds you how much time has passed and how young you yourself no longer are. Romeo and Juliet is the only film I ever saw her in so she was forever young in my mind - and then she's 73 and gone.
I remembered back in Freshman year, our English teacher put on the movie for the whole class to see... I'm pretty sure all of us were stunned of Olivia Hussey's beauty... May she R.I.P.
This is so sad. I was 13 when the movie came out, and for many of us it was our introduction to Romeo & Juliet. Suddenly a bunch of seventh graders were reading Shakespeare! Much of this can be attributed to Olivia's beautiful portrayal of Juliet. She was a real teenager, just like us. RIP lovely Olivia. +
Oh wow!!! I honestly don't know what to say, but can you imagine that today after a long time of having "Jesus of Nazareth (1977)" film on my PC, I decided to watch the film and as I was watching it, I researched the prominent casts and found out that this beautiful female actress had passed away only two(2) days ago? This is remarkable. I hope she gives her life to Christ as she knows better from acting the role of his mother. 🙏🏿❤️
I saw Romeo & Juliet after I read the play in my 9th grade English class. It changed my life. Got to meet Olivia at a couple of autograph shows, one time with Leonard. This one really hurts😢.
I was saddened to hear of Ms. Hussey's passing. In my opinion, she will forever be the best Juliet. Thank you for your performance in Romeo and Juliet.
My 8th grade English teacher made us watch that version over a week. I wasn't interested at first but the performances and production, giving some credit to Shakespeare of course, drew me in and I've always had a great admiration for it. May the Sun of her Juliet always shine.
RIP one of the most beautiful iconic actress of my generation. I saw Romeo and Juliet in 1968 at the Stanton theater which is no longer around the movie was so beautiful from a way different time of life. RIP our forever Juliet
Dang, 73 is still young by today's standard. She's literally the most beautiful Juliet.
I agree. Times were much better even though I wasn't even around then, it seems that things are just better when they are simpler in most cases. Simpler times man
Yes, it is younger. People living to 100 and more is becoming more common.

Idk, I’ve been seeing ppl die a lot more in their 70s lately. Not just on the internet, but in my personal life too.

Star quality all the way. Thank you, Olivia. I won't cry today. I'll smile because your talent, caring, and intelligence enriched this world.
I remember seeing the 1968 adaptation of Romeo and Juliet back in 2012. Hussey did a phenomenal job portraying Juliet.
