To anyone who has ever lost anyone to a drug overdose seeing George's brother david pleading for George's life was so emotional to me and it made me shed tears .. I can relate to that unfortunately , I made my pleas for my son to late and we lost him 6/27/17. I'm so thankful that george got the help that he needed .. he is a beautiful soul that we get to enjoy in this world for more time .. love ya george ❤
Dear Anna, I can relate in some ways to the pain you must have felt because of similar personal circumstances. I hope time has helped somewhat with healing. You’ve got an angel waiting for you on the other side, ready to wrap his arms around you.
Going on the Telly and the rest of the media was unnecessary and attention seeking,not to mention obnoxious.

To be honest back then I wasn’t a Boy George fan. No,not bc of coz his sexuality i couldn’t care. I’m 1/2 Brit female,now 62 yrs old.But the genre of pop- tunes just didn’t appeal to me @ my heavy metal loving music friends!

I dated a musician for a number of years way back then n i remember going to these kinds of meetings. Its always the same they tell you they love you, its amazing and its the same finger snapping and clapping and free drinks n the whole thing...then two days later ...oh im sorry but its not for us right now. jajajaja

Straight 63 year old bloke from Aussie here. I bought the album in 83 and it sat proudly with along side other albums none of them pop records. Brilliant tunes and lyrics and optimism. You are a good man George and best wishes.

I think it's incredible how he overcame his heroin addiction and has been sober, now, for a decade. He seems happier than ever and I love it. 💖 He's truly such an inspiration.
I don't know if its the right thing to say, but despite his drug addiction, he was at the top of his creative best (the Martyr Mantras album) while addicted ... he was that rare functioning addict, strangely ..

Boy George was more accepting back then than people are now. You dont really appreciate being accepting until you are the one not being accepted at some point.

Boy George!!! My girlfriend liked him right off. He’s a very fine wine. I do admire him so much for following his own path. There is so much more to him than the hype. I truly admire the ability to grow and become who he finds himself to be. He is one to emulate. Honest, sincere, loving, vulnerable, up front real and always chasing the dream which is being who he is for himself. I found Boy George so very real in this clip. Someone I’d want to have around, someone I’d want to be upfront honest with, someone to trust always, someone to love as he is, someone willing to be himself and accepting of what my reality is with him in my life. The wonderful ability to be patient with whoever we are at the moment. Real, very real, accepting of yourself and of himself. How wonderfully, open to what is and loving of that person.
