It's interesting to hear your thoughts on using different wet-dry techniques. I also like to keep my pencil sketch visible while I work, so I sometimes start with very thin gouache to block out shapes and colors. Hooray for underpainting! I feel more confident building opacity afterward, plus the blocking prevents me from second-guessing and changing the color palette 20 times per painting lmao. Rambling over- this painting is super cute! Love the contrast between the warm dress/flowers and the cool shadows.

I am yet to try blocking out shapes and colours for my underpainting. I’ve only done the one solid colour and I’m keen to try it for sure! 😃 and thank you so much! 🥰❤️
