Farewell, listeners! Being able to talk movies and hear back from you guys has been fantastic. We're sure we'll all meet again... in other LMG videos... or maybe LTX... ooor..??
Love all of ya!
Gonna miss listening to you guys when I'm working
you guys are the best.. i'll miss these
This is the only thing from LMG I still watch. Miss you guys. Miss Sarah. Miss the guests. It's been real.
I hope you return in the future... with a better name :D but you can return maybe one a month :D
It's done?! L
Why did I discover this podcast right when it ends 😩
Honestly this is one of the best movie podcasts I’ve ever seen. The structure of the show is so entertaining, The lighting and set look great, and the chemistry of the hosts is wonderful. I loved listening to so many unique and interesting opinions here. You guys should be proud of the amazing archive you’ve left behind… And if you ever decide to revive the pod we won’t be mad 😄
daddy loves you
Same here
It was 2 years ago when I first discovered this podcast while working a menial summer job, and I can truthfully say it’s been a highlight of my week ever since then. I’ll never forget the excitement of finally watching another movie y’all had covered and “unlocking” another backlog episode I could listen to. I want to thank all three of you for letting us share your time of discussion, joking, and (sometimes) arguing for an hour every week for all these years. My love for movies grew so much with the new movies I was exposed to by this podcast, and I’m happy to say I’ll be continuing my journey through film for many years into this future just as I’m sure you all will continue yours off camera. Best wishes with what comes to you next, farewell TJM.
Time for They're Just Movies and Channel Super Fun to see their light of the day
I know it’s probably too late, but if you guys ever decide to revisit this podcast, I and a lot of others wouldn’t mind an episode something like once a month or once every few months so you guys don’t feel as burned out and out of time.
I hope so
Thanks everyone! This has been a lot of fun. Would love to see this back even 1 or 2 times per year for big movies!
I wasn't ready for this day, almost didn't want to watch it yet because I don't want it to be over. This was the favorite extra channel I found after find LTT a few years ago. I have enjoyed so much listening to your opinions and thoughts on so many great movies and so great listening to episodes on older shows and movies that i grew up with. Listening to you guys has been like sitting and reminiscing with good friends, good show fellas, good show.
I haven't been able to bring myself to watch the past few episodes. This is the show I look forward most to watching each week. I was upset when I found out TJM was ending, but now that it's over I'm just glad it was here at all. Thanks for all the amazing conversations, crazy arguments, and personal stories that made Carpool Critics and They're Just Movies great.
yeah same, think im gonna start watching every single movie of every episode i havent heard yet (around 40 maybe) and thenn ill come around to these last fews :(
I'm right there with you, Taylor. I don't know how many times I've commented to my wife over these past few weeks how bummed I am at TJM's ending. I hope these guys doing something again in the future.
Feels like I was just broken up with. Going to miss this podcast a lot.
Nothing Lasts... But Nothing Is Lost
this is literally the best movie podcast ever created maybe because of your background as part of LMG, we've known a little bit of your personalities from here and there. i hope you make episodes again in the future, though you don't need to rush, if you're busy then we're just going to have what you're going to give us.
That was a fun ride, guys and gals! Thank you for all the efforts and time you put on this show, I had a blast hearing (watching) you! Best of luck on your future projects, love you all!
(1:08:39) a keystone of LMG? Probably not, but you were never supposed to be. This show is a petroglyph, the gilded engravings and adornments of LMG. Not necessary for structural integrity, but appreciated and valued for its artistic expression. LMG is still an awe inspiring creation, but now it's more of a vestige of its former self, having been robbed of the treasures within. This is heartbreaking for all of us. We love you guys.
Thank you guys for this amazing show. Extremely sad this podcast is over, huge part of my life, you guys got me through lots of dark times, hope you come back one day.
i’m late to comment on this, but you guys have really encapsulated the experience of sharing movies with friends. I’m not young anymore but i’ve built up friendships that have lasted until now, all starting from our collective love of movies and discussing what we love about them. I wish you guys the best and even though I feel a huge loss with the end of this podcast, I wish you all well and hope that you can go back to enjoying this hobby of ours. See you later guys, you’ve given us quite a ride.
Hey! That was me! All the best guys in the future.
From carpool critics to they're just movies to nothing, so sad but happy I found these guys
Thanks team, it's been a pleasure watching your takes on various movies. Only 'found' the channel towards the end, but at times it was a source of if I should watch a movie or not.
I can’t believe Linus canceled this. What a “monster.” 😀
Listened to you guys and gals talk as I biked to the hospital every day for the last year, and I gotta say you guys have a chemistry that works so f**kin well; hope I get to see more David on-screen, besides behind-the-scenes stuff :)
Does anyone have the link to David's page? Really want to listen to his podcast. Also, David should totally have Riley and James on as guests from time to time.
Looking for this also
Dude! Why did yall stop dojng this podcast?? Its one of the best movie podcasts out there! Whyyyyy????
Hopefully it will come back some day in the future, it was a great show gonna miss y’all
Missing this podcast a lot right now. Would love to be hearing your thoughts on the new Spiderverse movie. Hope you all are doing well
Sad to see this podcast go away.. But thank you guys for a wonderful time every time
This podcast helped me learn how to watch movies in a more analytical and enjoyable way. I've definitely leaned back more into playing games and watching fewer movies since the podcast has ended. I'm going to see the Mario movie today, and I can't help but wonder what they would think about it.
im surprised no 1 mentioned how funny it was when joker started pronouncing murray like murr-AY as his contempt escalated. I'm super sad to see the show end, but since i only discovered it last year, i feel comfort knowing there's a huge back catalog of movies to watch just so i can watch this afterwards, thanks guys
Please find a way to continue. I'd love an audio only version. There are so many exciting movies on the horizon. Thank you for the laughs and insight.
Yall helped me get more into cinema. thank you guys for all the work that yall put into this. there will always be a BIG part of me that is waiting for the next upload. thanks again and blessings to everyone💜🛐🙏
I don't see many people talking about the fact that by having 16:10 aspect ratio instead of a more theatrics wide aspect we are so much closer to the action the whole time. And the more the movie goes on the closer in to the Jokers face we get. It makes it so much more unsettling.
I just discovered this podcast last week 😢
Looking forward to seeing what’s next for all three of you. Hopefully we get some random TJM shows around big releases. I’m definitely here for it
I personally like the idea of the 15-episode playlist of what you guys deem to be the best of TJM! Thanks for all the hours of entertainment. I truly enjoyed every episode. Thanks, - Jordan
Standing round of applause for all of you. Thank you so much for a great podcast. I will miss the show a lot, and I wish you all the best.
Really gonna miss listening to you guys, you have been my favourite podcast to listen to for the past few years and every new episode enhanced my day
Thank you to all three of you for sharing your time, knowledge, passion, and personalities. As you mentioned in the podcast, I feel like I know you guys from listening to your conversations and thoughts, and I have definitely become more exploratory and analytical about films in general as a result of this podcast. Best of luck, and can't wait to see you guys in other projects in the future.
I want to thank you guys for all those podcasts! 2 years in the row you were my no.1 podcast. Hopefully from time to time you will come back to talk movies.
I was never a tweeter, more of a youtuber...but once again, thank you all for the content. Besides RedLetterMedia, this was my only movie/TV show content that I watched, and now I will probably have to look for another which makes me kinda sad because I just like your personalities. I'll check out David's channel but I'm sure I will miss the dynamic between you three.
Come back for Oppenheimer
Will miss you guys. This was great while it lasted.
Thanks!
Loved the podcast while it lasted, looked forward to the episode every week. Anyone able to direct me to the channel David uses for the podcast he mentioned they are starting at the end?
You guys provided so much entertainment on my drives to and from work, gonna miss listening! Thanks for every episode 👍
I miss this podcast so much
Thanks for the ride y'all. I will miss this! You made my favorite content to ever come from any LTT channel!
Thanks for everything guys, looking forward to working though your backcatalog!
Thank you for all the memories from Carpool critics to They're just movies. Gonna miss all the banter between you three and all the other guest that have arrive as well!
Thanks for all the entertainment these last couple years fellas. RIP to my favorite podcast. hope to see ya'll shooting the shit again soon on a one off ep or something. Long live CC/TJM
18:00 oh david, people can be terrible. Not that I suffered this sort of shit, but I know some who got it worse than this character for no reason at all . Arthur's experiences are not so rare.
edit the podcast was a nice company during the pandemic, thanks for the ride, you guys are great.
It's been great watching this podcast! It'll be weird not being able to listen to you guys but I'm happy I was here for the ride!
Gonna miss your show!!! It would be cool if you could take over this show as a hobby, but it is what it is. Enjoyed listening to your podcast and I've listened to many of your episodes.
so sad to see this go. you three were amazing to listen to! hopefully you guys will be able to make it work again someday in the future :(
Loved all the podcast episodes and how James, Reily and David always brought something new! Hope the future is awesome for you guys, Thank you for all the good memories, laughs and knowledge =) They're Just Movies (Carpool Critics) Will be missed! SPOILER ALERRRT!
Gonna miss this show.
There was a guy in Tokyo wearing a Joker outfit that stabbed people and started a fire on the train. When he was caught the guy smoking a cigarette and just sitting there on the train.
Will keep rewatching my favorite episodes, thanks for all the time shared with us
Hey guys, I wish you guys could still do some episodes maybe once a month or smtg just for a hobby. I really enjoy you guys talking about movies...
Miss you already
Enjoyed you guys a lot. I wound up missing episodes because I hadn't watched what you were reviewing yet, but the episodes I watched were so enjoyable; like a glass of ice cold water after a full day in the sun.
Ps. Love the book end ending 💛
Just like all of you, we were also sad that they stopped this podcast. So we made our own movie podcast.
RIP They're Just Movies 😩😭😢
Favorite episodes in no particular order ( Except #1) :
Event Horizon: the movie itself is okay, but some of the stuff in it is just cool. Honorary carpool critic Sarah joins and everyone just seems to have a great time. Everyone wanted this movie to be good and liked some parts of it. Overall just a fun episode to listen to them go back and forth on.
Arrival : The highest average score they give to any movie (I think). The genuine love they feel for the movie is palpable. It made me go watch it again and now it's in my top 3 movies.
LOTR series : Listening to them talk about the all the moments in the trilogy has me feeling a certain way. Plus these were some of the longer episodes, so I fell asleep to them quite often.
Dune: A lot of the older epsidoes James mentions this coming out, and the movie was really good. Nice to hear David's non reader view since I read and love all the Frank Herbert books.
The rise of skywalker: Riley losing hope in Star Wars in real time is sad, but funny to listen to.
And some without a write ups
Don't look up
Cats
Kill Bill
Inside
Licorice pizza
Scott Pilgrim
Mortal Kombat
Prisoners
Inglorious Basetards
The Departed
Hereditary
Thank you James, David and Riley for the a wonderful podcast. Looking forward to potential new episodes!
Maybe it's just the city I grew up in but the kids beating up the dude and taking the sign was legit. In middle school and high school I was in 4 shootings, one kid brought in a can of lighter fluid and beat the crap out of another kid then doused him in the lighter fluid and set him on fire, and saw a teacher get stabbed multiple times for calling a students parents. It seems like ya'll may be coming from a point of view that doesn't believe violence exist to the degree it actually it does. That violence is what creates the attitude that the woman had of "Stop messing with my kid" cause she doesn't know this person or what they're capable of or what they're going to do cause bad people half the time don't approach you in a mean or bad way, they act friendly to get close then attack. Maybe it's different in canada but a quick flight to some certain US cities might give you a different perspective.
Just wanted to say thank you to the three of you, and the crew who made CPC/TJM happen. Sad to see it go, but I really enjoyed the thoughtful breakdowns, even if I disagreed with the ratings. The podcast allowed for another perspective, and I enjoyed that not all had the same feelings for each review. I would love to see this brought back in the future, fingers crossed, but I am okay the chapter of TJM closing. Its similar to Quentin Tarantino saying he would rather go out on a high note, than to be known for burning out in the industry.
From the original Joker episode on Floatplane
James: The working title for this podcast is Retcon1
David: We can always go back and change the title
Sad day, really enjoyed this podcast. Was one of my regular podcasts that I listened to. Hope it can continue at some point in the future. it was like hanging out with friends. I feel it even brought me closer to the ltt company/community. If it went to flowplane I would consider subscribing! Wishing you and your families all the best.
Uh yeah why the H did it end? It was great I always came back here to hear you guys. Rip one of the best movie podcasts
Come on boys ,this cant be the end .
Thank God TJM aka CPC wasn't affected by the security breach.
They missed the goldmine.
Bring the show back, please
No way :( TJM forever!
Anybody know the names of Riley's and David's personal channels?
Thanks to you guys I have a newfound appreciation for cinematic art and a new hobby. Thanks for everything guys, I've really come to love you guys and I wish you all the best, happy new year!
Aww 😢
Fare-the-well, gentlemen! (all-the-best!)
Can someone link me to David's channel? Please.
Are you back yet?
HEY, NOW THAT LINUS IS STEPPING DOWN, CAN THIS CHANEL BE BACK?
Is it too late to ask for a movie making book recommendation? I'm after a " movie making for dummies" kind of book that goes through movie tropes, why a scene is shot in a certain way, what a colour means in a shot, all that kind of stuff.
I'm going to really miss your show, been a regular listener for about 3 years now
Wait a minute, what's David's Letterboxd? I need to know 😂😂
I remember him going to find it in one episode but never actually did
What is your channel David?
Have u ever heard about.... Sardar udham.... Movie??????
After listening to the whole thing...
I became fan of the podcast cuz it's high quality..I don't care for fluff, hooks and presentation.. it's thought out opinions on movies we love..
Wish you guys had continued for 3-4 more years and gotten a sit down with rogan as well.. before shutting the door...
I listen to your podcast when I do 3-4 hour long cardio and stuff..
But hey.. all good things must come to an end I guess..
OutRAAAAAAGE. I need more TJM!
Hi community!
I dont understand. 😔This podcast is beloved. Why would you guys stop? Other priorities? Budget reasons?
The great 'Incel' fear of 2019 never played out because 90% of the film makes it very clear what a loser and how sad his life is.
Same with mass shooter mentality, they want to be remember for the final act and seen as powerful to COVER UP how miserable their life was but in the film his 'power' only comes at the very end. Therefore anyone tying themselves to this mythos runs the risk of being remembered as 90% a loser and that is the last thing they want.
If it was the other way around and he was a loser at the start and then was powerful for most of the film like a Fight Club then you might have an issue.
Ultimately I believe this is 100% a Joker movie the same way as Pattison's Batman film is for Batman.
It is about him becoming a larger than life symbol within Gotham for Chaos and Anarchy the same way as Batman becomes a symbol for Hope and Justice.
Imma miss you guys 🥲🫡
RIP
BRING IT BACK
Why the last episode? Channel going to delete? Whats going on
I appreciate this being really the only place where lmg is open about getting enhanced. I wonder if anyone there has ever wanted to review something like the puffco or similar
Man this sucks... and right when you nailed the perfect desk setup - farewell boyos
This is beyond sad.
😢
i am inconsolable. why have you done this to me
Why is the show ending?! 😭
Hey guys! Love your videos, they never get recommended to me though, glad I saw this one for once!
Come back :(
So for the last episode, we get what we fucking deserve!
sad when the news of this ending came out awhile back. and now that we're here, it just feels too surreal for me. was always a neat site to see a new episode pop up in my feed.
thanks for the fun times.
i do hope you all do indulge the audience with some "one-off" podcasts whenever you lot feel up to it.
i'll be staying subscribed in the off chance a "one-off" gets put out.
cheers. 🍻
😭
Just found channel now learned channel is over
Thank you for all the entertainment you've provided us with, it has been great.
