was fortunate to meet the Edge a couple of times on the Vertigo tour, and was as he is...polite, funny, genuinely interested in your conversation - such a down to earth bloke. and a guitar legend
I was in the Vancouver audience the night the Edge fell off the stage. It was very concerning to the fans, and everyone had to wait for a while to find out if he had been badly injured. Fortunately the later news came out that he was OK, but it definitely could have been much worse.
Never understood how Mercy ended up on the floor the first time. Really happy with the collection of songs they’ve finally released. The music is great, but they sound really good too.
On the northside of Dublin, we were always under the impression he got his nickname from Edge's Hardware Store in Fairview. 🤷♀ In the late 80's I was working on the southside in Monkstown. Lovely pub there we used to go to called Goggins. He lived in the area and came in frequently. He used to wave over to us and say hello. Cool guy 😎
maybe make them stages a foot to 2 lower to the ground & put a bright pink or lime green line on the outside so the artists can c when their close to the edge(no pun intended)
Edge fell of the....uhhh....uuhhhh.....side of the stage. You know, off the surface that precedes a open space. The last surface before airspace. If only there was a term for that...
On behalf of 50+ year olds everywhere, who fall and trip and injure ourselves…thanks for sharing this! Good to know it happens even the pros, and I do consider this man to be a pro!
I LOVE U2
When I worked as a stagehand people would fall off the stage all the time. It's a really common thing because stages aren't that big, and there's no railing to let you know where the edge is. So, you always had to be mindful of where the edge of the stage was with whatever you were doing. Falling off a stage with one level isn't that big of a deal. But falling off a stage with 2 or 3 levels. That's really scary. That can be really high up.
@ Highly doubt it. But if he does, can you pick me up a couple when you’re on your morning break? You still get the employee 10 percent discount, right?
No supposed about it-- read/listen to any interview. He and Bono are both extremely intelligent. I would have grown bored with them as a teenager 30+ years ago instead of being a hardcore devotee. It's Smart Art.
@@alexisdvorkin6611 Well, the issue was the nickname. He could be the smartest person on the planet and his nickname could still refer to some other quality of his.
What nonsense. Songs of Innocence is one of my favourite u2 albums and it was released in 2014. The song Winter would be hailed as an all-time classic if it was released by a new band and that was released in 2009. Sounds like you really have no clue about u2 post 2000.

Props to him for still cordially answering 'How did you get your name?' nearly 50 years into his career.
To be fair, if you call yourself The Edge, expect to get questions about it. Not everyone knows U2 late 70s history.
I thought the same thing!

@@TC2290-wh5cb This is a good point. I’m sure that the broadcaster knew, but she had to ask it, for the viewers who aren’t fans.
When I see an interview with the Edge I click on it. Have never been disappointed

Great I met the edge and Adam many years ago
I met Bono tomorrow, top lad.

How’s he doing after his surgery? Did you tell him we need him on an album soon?
I heard somewhere Larry has one condition to return for a new album

Some of these comments are so funny!
Love Edge!
Still great guy!

U2 the best

It's said he was interested in studying medicine before he joined the band... wanted to become a doc..
