This is really nuts. I do wonder if this is intended or indicative of a bug. I'm hoping it's more on the intended side, but it's hard to imagine how a team like Man U could drop so low. I'd love to see a deep dive into some of these teams to see how it went wrong for them.
To be fair, big teams failing over 2 or 3 decades is very common. If you look at english football before the united and liverpool wins, it puts things into perspective. So in 100 years it does make sense things change so much. But, it is definitely insane that top clubs drop out of existence within 30 or 40 years itself
0:23 It's funny how you didn't flinch as Sheffield is 5th in the PL ponferrada were 3rd in la la liga and Spezia winning the seria A with Crotone qualifying for the UCL and Cittedella being that high as well. Spezia winning is crazy though, Seria A in that sim is a madness
Spezia always seem to get promoted and immediately get European football in my save with Milan. They got promoted in the 2027/2028 season and immediately got 5th then 3rd.
It's obvious that@@TomFM knows little about football outside the UK or some of the top European leagues. You can really see that he has never heard of some of the clubs that should be well known to a seasoned FM player. For example, when he says that AIK is from Malmö or when he refers to Sedan as Ardennes.
@@TomFM Has to be some odd beta bug no? I'm in the first season and there's so many 'bad' teams doing really well and good teams doing really bad... It's like every team no matter what quality of players always are just on even ground (This is how it looks on my save)
I love the fact that when you checked the UECL, I saw Châteauroux winning the title once while the team is currently in the 3rd division and is a semi-pro team 🙃
It could be fun to see these simulations but on other continents. Also, I'm really surprised that Monza (Brianza) and Napoli (Parthenope) are unlicensed.
I mean i've had some crazy promotions and relegations in FM22 but this is mental. Maybe a bit too much. Looks like teams just rise/fall way too fast, seeing how quickly you get these crazy UEL and UECL winners. I mean as a longterm player this really makes every save unique but maybe tone it done just a little bit.
Can't really confirm this. Simmed to 2050 now and everthing looks fine. Maybe this depends on how your game is set up. The most oulandish european cup winner is FC zurich winning the conference league in 2043. Which i'm totally ok with. CL winners are your usual suspects.
I actually gotta say, "I like the unpredictability of the game now," it will make every save feel more unique and in all honesty it would be boring to just play against Man City and Man United and Liverpool in the Champions League, I want to see smaller teams in there creating their own dynasties because realistically Liverpool, Man United and Man City, Arsenal and Tottenham will not always be top tier English premier league teams with all of them coming in the 1st-6th positions all the time.
Honestly I like all the change, however this is probably too mental, also hoping someone creates a databse where the CL Format doesn't change cus for sure I'll be using that
Would be nice if you can look at the player records. Was there a newgen legend that won 10 Ballon d'ors for instance? I assume that there could have been one at Newcastle in their dominant years. And what did his attributes look like? I hope you do a second video of this experiment.
My club, SC Bastia, won the Conference League in 2119/20 (timestamp 10:40) are in the 2122/23 Europa League (timestamp 12:25) all the while not being in the 2122/23 Ligue 1 (timestamp 8:52)!
I wasn't born when we played against Ajax in the European Cup Final back on 1970-71 but I hope that I'll be able to see my team Panathinaikos to a Champions League final one day and hopefully win it as well ☘️☘️☘️
As a Bristol Rovers fan it's amazing to see them win a Europa Conference League title, and make Champions League and Europa League finals, and also reaching 2nd in the Premier League. Although it did take about 90 years haha
Great video Tom, but sends alarm bellls for the game that this could happen. Maybe 2 or 3 shock teams in the prem, but wtf, its completely different Costa Rica winning a world cup too? The game is possibly broke
I’ve seen other videos with the same procedure and whats really interesting is that St. Pauli always seem to develop pretty good and always settle in the Bundesliga while dominating it for quite some time. Wonder why this happens or why FM thinks St. Pauli is going to be that good in the future.
Union Berlin in the 3rd division of Germany 4 seasons after winning the title in the top division . The game gets a bit mad after 100 years this year it seems
How is Holstein Kiel II in the third division while Holstein Kiel is in the second? In German football the reserves and the first team have to have at least one league between them
I just realised Tom you do likely have serie C loaded but it's 3 different divisions below what's normally serie C as Serie C overall is more a playoff thing / battle between those that qualify from serie C/A C/B and C/C
As a Villa fan it seems nothing changes. I've watched loads of these kinds of videos over the years and while all sorts of random teams win stuff, Villa sink without trace usually getting relegated and never coming back. That being said, this is the lowest I've seen FM sink them yet.
What i don’t like about FM when simulating a lot of seasons, is how the teams from the big cities fall off dramatically. I think it’s nice to see some cinderella stories, like Wrexham winning the CL, or a changing of the guard, but it’s highly unrealistic that no team from Milan is even in Serie A, that Napoli or Roma suck, but Cittadella can win the CL, or that Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, Bayern and Real Madrid (the King’s team) are all in disarray. Also, total domination by one side is no fun (Man City, Monza/Brianza, Newcastle). I hope someday they can mitigate this tendency
Please do the same experiment but with Brasileirão and argentina league (or include them whenever you do these), would be very nice to see it too being from Brazil.
German teams did amazing in this video! Even though - and I love that as a German - it is NOT Bayern or Dortmund! There were multiple international titles, divided between tams like Kaiserslautern, Eintracht Braunschweig, 1. FC Heidenheim, several finals reached by Fortuna Düsseldorf, VfL Osnabrück, FC Ingolstadt, 1860 Munich... And I also love the (at least little) rise of the Polish Ekstraklasa!
Tom! You probably had Serie C loaded, you just got confused by the old Serie C screen. If you kept going you would've found the 3 current Serie C leagues.
That Polish team Rakow are actually an interesting story only being in the top league for the third year now coming in runners up and winning the Polish cup two years running. Their manager is wanted for some of the biggest jobs in polish football, but is considering leaving the get altogether in a few years
Union Berlin went from winning the league in 2119/20 to being in the 3rd tier 4 years later! Wow!
Almost opposite of What theyre doing rn
This is really nuts. I do wonder if this is intended or indicative of a bug. I'm hoping it's more on the intended side, but it's hard to imagine how a team like Man U could drop so low. I'd love to see a deep dive into some of these teams to see how it went wrong for them.
I feel like maybe because the match engine is a bit more "chaotic" lower end teams can topple bigger teams easier, slowly rising above them.
I really hope it's intended. Makes a game way more interesting later on when you're challenging new teams
To be fair, big teams failing over 2 or 3 decades is very common. If you look at english football before the united and liverpool wins, it puts things into perspective. So in 100 years it does make sense things change so much.
But, it is definitely insane that top clubs drop out of existence within 30 or 40 years itself
@@aries666dc it’s impossible today because of the financial dominance of these teams
@Dragon Of The West I checked but 1922 still had Liverpool, Newcastle, Everton, Aston Villa, Man City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea in it.
This is crazy, it’s not been out for a couple of days
only takes a few hours to do this though
0:23 It's funny how you didn't flinch as Sheffield is 5th in the PL ponferrada were 3rd in la la liga and Spezia winning the seria A with Crotone qualifying for the UCL and Cittedella being that high as well. Spezia winning is crazy though, Seria A in that sim is a madness
Spezia just a class club in my mind clearly 😂
Spezia always seem to get promoted and immediately get European football in my save with Milan. They got promoted in the 2027/2028 season and immediately got 5th then 3rd.
It's obvious that@@TomFM knows little about football outside the UK or some of the top European leagues. Oh man I hope this means there’s at least some more randomisation across different saves, instead of the top clubs staying at the top mostly 😮❤
Fingers crossed that is the case and not some odd beta bug!
@@TomFM Has to be some odd beta bug no? I'm in the first season and there's so many 'bad' teams doing really well and good teams doing really bad... It's like every team no matter what quality of players always are just on even ground (This is how it looks on my save)

I think the Italian clubs have exclusive licences with other companies, I think Konami for eFootball

I mean the massive clubs stayed massive for 50 years, before starting to fall off. It’s not too bad, we just expect the norm of the current world
@@rileypassias2549 Doing a sim myself and so far and around 2040 it looks okay. Most major clubs are still major.

Hartlepool winning the Champions League. I wish Jeff Stelling by some miracle managed to stay alive all that time to see it.
22/23 is the best season for the north east, Gateshead winning europa league and Newcastle winning the champions league. scenes on Tyneside

Shut up christiano irish league is class
I would love to see uruguayan league
You can sim it yourself, takes a few hours though

Well, I would need FM 23 and a computer capable of running it
Benfica's curse continues, 4 or 5 more finals and lost every single one
These experiments are really fun to watch! Can you maybe put the Dutch league in your videos as well?
Good to see St. Pauli winning something, even if it's only in FM.
7:46 the stats there have bugged out, apparently no one had scored a goal in the bundesliga after 4 gameweeks
