Ceramic coating will not adhere to contaminated paint so every stage is important if the durability of the product is to last. This is detailing as opposed to washing which is insufficient for those bonded contaminants to be removed otherwise. The less you touch the paint the fewer swirls, which would be more evident once a wax or especially ceramic was used. Swirls on older bike can be reduced, filled or removed with the correct compound or techniques. Safer by hand, I use a 1" pad on a Rotary machine polisher. Nice tutorial plus result, thanks for your help from #customspraymods.
I stupidly pressed real hard with a microfiber, using my nail which I turned long way, and created a couple long scratches along the headlight. I was losing light fast and wanted the big residue gone. Couldn't clay or use a paint cleaner. I know you never press hard with anything, even the plushest microfiber, but I was stubborn. I haven't tested if they disappear when wet, but I'm still sure they are clear coat only. Any suggestions on how to correct without compounding? They are very faint and need to be real close to see. Perhaps a good filler? Or maybe a wax would safffice.
Probably mentioned already, but stuffing the muffler with the dirty rags and getting them wet is definitely not gonna prevent water getting in. Quite the contrary, they'll just get wet and drip water directly into the exhaust. Maybe plug them with something less permeable.
It's protected from rain now (it will just run off), and as he said, after ceramic coating it, don't take it out on wet days for about a week, many bikers never go out unless it's dry, I'm not a fair weather rider myself.

Everyone's saying clean a dirty bike next time. You don't wait til the bike is noticeably dirty to clean it. I mean, do you only shower when your clearly physically filthy?
Mother of god, guys! Water + soap and a soft ish brush + a cloth Finish with putting abit of WD40 on a cloth, and wiping metal parts (not brakes) you are good to go! Repeat every few weeks to have a bike looking new. Once every few months give your paint a polish.
@@joshmcaloon6998 I mean... Yes brush. No to dirty hard brush! You will never be able to get gunk off a bike without some form of brush or spunge... I prefer brushes as they dont tend to hold onto the dirt particles, anything thats made of cloth will hang on to dirt much better, thus rubbing it all over your bike.
I ride a lot. I have gotten my bike this clean at times but it always get dirty again, that is just how it is. It is more fun to just ride all the time and not obsess about keeping it clean. All of these products that are manufactured for detailing are not as magical as they would have you believe. Dirt sticks to anything.
Nice Vid! i personally prefer to use 2 bucket method by : dip into soap > onto vehicle > then into plain water to get dirt off , wring it out, before going back into soapy bucket to keep that bucket perfectly clean!
All you haters this is how to detail a bike. Not just wash it. No one said you had to do it like this. For ceramic coating to adhere you must clean the paint to this level.
Realistically you shouldn't use a pressure washer as it can ram dirt into bearings that are not normally exposed to water at high pressure and wash grease out. I wouldn't use a pressure washer on mine. Sponge method I think is better as you get close to your bike and are more likely to see if parts such as break pads are being worn down or any other serviceable parts need looking at.
I am not a expert, but when you hit the anchors pulling up in the beginning the front forks pogo up and down. I think the preload could be a little soft
Jeremy John all these products can be used many times. But after doing this it's going to be easier to clean your bike. So all the chemicals may not be needed in the future
This is coming from experience, do not use iron removers or strong degreasers on your bike in general. It eats at uncoated paint and can possibly stain it, dries out rubber hoses, penetrates rubber seals holding grease, and bad for brakes. Soap and elbow grease is safer take your time hitting the spot, don’t be lazy by making chemicals do it for you.
elbow grease is worse for the paint it damages it know your products don't use the acidic or alkaline ones a lot of companies now do very good ph balanced products that wont damage the bare metallic parts and rubbers etc use with respect and no issues
You can’t wash out embedded iron particles. Under a microscope they are jagged and embed in A motorcycle is not far different from car detailing Iron removers are fine periodically. As it’s kinda necessary in the detailing world as nothing will remove them What everyone should do is a proper decontamination wash. Polish. Then coating the bike as most every surface can be coated. Then maintenance washes
So I've never detailed or washed a bike. I'm kinda worried about the the engine and seat, im assuming they can handle some water but I don't wanna damage or have the seat completely soaked. Can I get some tips?? Also, can I used a pressure washer so should I use a spay nozzle on a garden hose?? Thanks.
So genius me was running out of sunlight and there was bug residue on the front of my bike. I didn't have enough light left to Clay so I just decided let me press my nail into the microfiber and then up scratching my paint. I know never apply Force the microfiber but some people just don't learn 😫
I’ve seen so many guys use an air gun to dry their bike, all your doing is forcing water into electronics. Doing that causes misfires and check engine lights. Do you grease the chain again since you de-greased it?
I've got to say this, with the microfiber towels RIP off the Tag, it will prevent scratching, dont wear rings, jewelry, belts or Jean's or button down shirts, clothing like sweatpants and a t shirt are best

I use snow foam and use it as a shampoo also after the initial soaking, I protect bare metal with ACF-50. You can get a load of snow foam really cheap, I got some two years ago and still have plenty left. ACF-50 seems expensive, but if used with a micro fibre cloth, it lasts well, you only really need to apply before and after winter but I do it after each clean to be sure.
Why would you use the iron fallout remover before you have cleaned the bike? It makes no sense as the iron fallout remover will work better on a bike which has been washed. You will have been better off using the fallout remover before using the clay bar, which you should have used the clay bar on all of the paintwork not just on a little area.

Rise bike with water, spray degreaser on the engine, rims, discs, swingarm, chain guards, rinse off degreaser, spray wheelie clean on rims, discs and calipers, wash bike with regular bike soap and sponge doing the rims last, rinse with water, chammy it dry, then use motul shine and go polish with a rag to polish. All up takes you 15 minutes to detail a bike and comes up better thsn this s1000rr
