When I watched this movie, I was looking for a spectacle, but wasn't expecting so much heart 😢. It describes and shows a grim sci-fi future, but the story makes room for silliness in an earnest way. On top of that, the mechanical design is so good across the board - whether scrap or refined. Lastly, it is another example of a great movie where the hero is held back only by his lack of appropriate footwear 😅
There is a lot more movie to see than is shown here, so highly recommend others checking it out even after seeing this. The villain's interactions with other people for instance. Anyway, this reaction was a pleasant surprise!
    SPOILERS
The ending was a lovely gut-punch. The crews' seeming demise, then relief of their survival, followed by the final nail of Tae-ho's last minute connection was its own mini roller-coaster. Reporting the time of exiting orbit in the same manner as time of death took me out 😭

    Put it this way...
If I had to watch either Space Sweepers or Rebel Moon: The Child of Fire, again... I'd watch Space Sweepers, twice.

I watched this film when it very first came out and had low expectations and was blown away by how good it was. For the VFX highlight reel, the white part that you said looks like clay or 3D printing is the ambient occlusion pass of the composite that captures shadow detail.

The chase between Victory and garbage collection planes from various countries is a parody of the competition between tow trucks in Korea. When an accident occurs somewhere, many private tow trucks chase and fight like that in Korea. This is because the car that gets there first can tow the car that is involved in the accident. That is why the chase between Victory and garbage collection planes is a very familiar scene to Koreans. Finally, this article may sound unnatural because it was translated using a machine. Please understand.

I came across this movie because my mom is Korean and basically told me to check it out, since I heard nothing about it, and since then I've been referring it to people because it's such a diamond in the rough, I hate how things get overlooked because people are afraid of subtitles or foreign movies.

Any Recommendation on weather to watch in Original Dialogue or English dub?
I’m a big fan of Anime, so I don’t mind following subtitles, but does it affect the overall feel of the film? (Does subtitles take away from it)

    • @NerdyNightly

Definitely the original language. There’s a lot of English in it already and I don’t know how the dub handles the other languages

Good video you upload! In fact, this movie did not receive good reviews in Korea. If you want a commercial film that received good reviews in Korea, I recommend Exit (2019). That film is a disaster genre mixed with comedy.

I find it interesting how people praise Parasite when there are so many korean films I think trump it. Even The Host which was by the same director was better imo.

I love this movie but i've been a huge fan of South Korean movies since the 90s, you should watch Infernal Affairs the original movie that the Departed is based on, and Sponsored videos are fine if you are upfront about the fact.
