The place in Hawaii Eric was trying to think of is Kualoa Ranch. It's where they shot a lot of the big scenic shots like the Gallimimus scene
Also they pointed this out briefly, but they wait so long to show the raptors and that's what makes them so scary. Just look at how many times they are mentioned and hyped up before we see them.
In the opening scene, we don't see the raptor, but it kills someone.
Dr Grant traumatizes a child by explaining how dangerous raptors are
Dr Grant is suddenly terrified when Dr Wu mentions that they bred raptors
We witness a raptor viciously mauling a cow. We still don't see the raptor.
Muldoon goes on for several minutes about how deadly the raptors are
When the power starts going down, Muldoon immediately asks if the raptor fences are on
Spielberg lets your mind paint the picture, because your imagination can make something way scarier that he can put on the screen.

The raptors in this movie- and the book- are physically based on another dino called deinychus. Michael Criton designed the raptors as scientifically accurate as he could at the time. He called them velociraptor because it sounded more threatening

So, the toilet paper. While you absolutely need extra toilet paper out in the desert, its actually really important in jacketing fossil specimens. You don't want to apply plaster to the exposed bone because you run the risk of damaging the specimen. So, in order to avoid damaging the specimen we often soak toilet paper or paper towels and pack them into the areas of the fossil so there is a buffer. Love your content guys.

Great reaction guys, I love this film so much!! Eric, you made me lol! Jai Courtney was probably a kid when the third Jurassic Park film came out. I believe the guy your thinking of was also Castor Troy's little brother in Face/Off. Another favourite of mine! You guys should react or comment on that film. It has a great (and awesomely farfetched) storyline and a beautiful soundtrack by one of my favourite composers, John Powell.

"But your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could; that they didn't stop to think if they SHOULD. What you call progress, I call the rape of the natural world." My favorite line, and it's probably even more relevant now heading into 2020.

I think that's funny because humans in this movie are basically reviving an extinct animal species, that Mother Nature killed in a massive catastrophe. This ironically should make humans the good guys, and nature the bad guy. I mean everyone has always told me that an extinction is a bad thing and diversity is good. But I guess when nature does it, who cares. 99% of animals that ever lived are dead because of nature, but meh. Tough luck dinosaurs. Should have just adapted better. All you cute baby dinosaurs need to stay dead, because the natural order demands it. Or atleast that's what humans say, because Mother Nature was unavailable to comment. Also, humans are separate from nature and always wrong. Well, can't let those baby dinosaurs go to waste, just because they are unnatural. Feast time!
Seriously though. "Natural world" doesn't care what we think about it lol. It doesn't care if we hate it. And it doesn't care if we start idolizing and worshipping it, which is what's basically happening right now. The whole term is ironically a human invention. Also you can't "rape" nature, because it doesn't have any feelings or self awareness. Nature has suffered ice ages, asteroids bombardments, super volcano eruptions, mass extinctions, etc. Nothing we do ever comes close. Was Natural world self-flagellating or something? Claiming otherwise is arrogant imo, because it makes humans more powerful than we are, and nature weaker than it is.

@@Ghal-ht2um Survival of the fittest. Jeff Goldblum says, "Dinosaurs had their time, and nature selected them for extinction." So their extinction had nothing to do with humanity. Perhaps another species will one day say that about us. Would it be right to bring humanity back? This is one reason why I absolutely loved this movie. The existential questions are unlimited. But to claim that humanity has absolutely no power to affect nature is short-sighted. The things we've done over the last 200 years will definitely have an impact, on a scale that no one can even truly conceive of because the life span of a person is nothing, yet we can see/detect changes within our own lifetime. But a millennia from now?!?🔥🔥🔥🌲🌲🌲🌀🌪️⛈️🌡️

I guess this will be a more running commentary. But yeah, Elmer's glue isn't super useful. Sometimes when you excavate the specimens fall apart. So stronger clear glues are used. And yeah, all "raptors" are feathered, even the big ones.

So, the scavenging thing is a hypothesis in Tyrannosaurus. Albeit poorly supported. The more likely condition is, like most animals they did both.
As far as vision based on movement- while we don't have the brains, we do have the bones that surrounds them! From these braincase we can make endocasts of the area that give us the shape of the brain. Size of brain areas usually correlate to increased function- as they are more developed. In T.rex the optic lobe is super developed and is comparable more to birds- hence why we think they have great vision.
Also, funny enough about the gizzards, you guys are right on the money. But Triceratops and other big ceratopsians likely didn't actually use gastroliths- the rocks. They had these super developed batteries of tightly packed teeth that efficiently grind up the plants. However, early members of the group were small and bipedal- they lacked these teeth but when find gastroliths with them.

Quick correction: Gennaro knew about the dinosaurs. He traveled with Hammond, helped him raise $1B of venture capital, and even hounded scientists on InGen’s behalf with questions like, “What did baby dinosaurs eat?” He just hadn’t imagined how powerful the animals would truly be.

John Hammond was played by Richard Attenborough, so I can understand Eric mixing up the names of the actor and the character, though I'm not sure the 'Dark Disney' analogy works for the movie version. The book version of the character, sure, but not so much the movie version.
