  • hey everyone, today I decided to put a diesel engine on a kids 110cc "Tao Tao" mini quad/ atv, I removed the old 110cc engine and added the diesel with a few adjustments to the frame! If you enjoyed this video be sure to subscribe like and comment! Also if you are new, check out the channel for more projects such as mini bikes, go karts, gas scooters ,motorcycles, and motorized bikes!
    Have a great day!

    I searched the web and glad that it's possible. I'm glad this can help kids achieve their dreams.

      that sprocket hub was clever , Thats the same problem I'm having on my 670 buggy. Cant you flip the jackshaft around on the torque converter? so the sprocket faces inwards

    • @OliverMotorized
      @OliverMotorized  5 лет назад +4

      I originally wanted to flip it so the sprocket came out the other side but then the sprocket would hit the engine and there wasn't enough clearance! I may just redo the whole rear axle with a better system. good luck on the buggy man!

      Not sure about the tapered crank yet.
      What I mean is to get a straight crank, or an adapter , or turn it down in a lathe.
      By a quick eyeball it looks like 7/8 might get enough of the taper out, and 3/4 totally makes it a straight shaft.
      A new crank is 1" i believe.
      I got my engine for free, so if I had to buy a crank it wouldnt be so bad.
      I tore it down already.

    I have watched a few of your vids now. First, let me say you are a creator and a salvage artist. Second, you have some cool ideas. Lastly, your not building structually safe framing on your builds. When you join two pieces of frame tube together you need to be slugging them for strength at the joint. It will help prevent stress cracking in the long run.

    You should replace the suspension with a full-size one. The thing would look hilarious.

    Yeah it made big difference. But u have to turn the fuel up on it. I got my turbo off of eBay. It’s made for 100cc up to 900cc. I will try to find the turbo numbers for u.

    Bad idea with the 3 year old diesel, quick fact diesel attracts dust like a black hole, so most likely had dust going through that thing, but anyways it seemed good, so

    Are there any "Realistic" perks to running a diesel motor on a go cart, mini bike, ext. instead of gas?

    • @OliverMotorized
      @OliverMotorized  5 лет назад

      not really lol. I'd say better fuel economy, and has more torque so you can get away with taller gear ratios I suppose. And they sound cool

    • @andrew753951
      @andrew753951 5 лет назад

      Yeah I figured torque would be a factor

    Would not your driven clutch shaft not slide through the backing plate and mount the sprocket and align it to the existing axel sproket?

    • @OliverMotorized
      @OliverMotorized  5 лет назад

      I didn't really explain it all to well, but the other side of the driven is so close to the engine bock that I couldn't fit a sprocket there!

    Ha-ha! You reminded me of a circus bear on a tricycle with you on a kid's mini-quad like that. You have some pretty innovative ideas and put them into application. This is what draws me to your channel. I do wish, however, you would have worked on the front brake lever before testing out the top speed.

    I think you should put a little turbsky on it, if you do that, she's gonna be torquey as hell 😆😎
