Shooting Nikon since 1975, I have to say, great choice. I had my recurring rants, though (I also shot medium and large format). The Z system has silenced my 2 main rants. The lenses are significantly better, have ~no chromatic aberration and are very much alike in tone (color rendition). They improved in sharpness, but that was less important to me, and in focus breathing, and, and.
I never shot zoom lenses because in the past these were really inferior to primes. While zooms have become better, the Z "S" class zooms are on another level, especially the lenses with the LCD display.
So if you want both a 70..200 and an 85, then consider carefully that Nikon's Z 85/1.8S may be the sharpest lens out there, but their Z 70..200/2.8S is as good as their really good Z "S" class primes. This applies to the Z 24..70/2.8S zoom too (see comparison videos by UK Nikon School trainer Ricci Chera in YT).
While the "S" class zooms took away reasons to avoid them and stick with primes, I didn't buy them because the fixed focal lengths force me to consider viewpoint and perspective better, they are f/1.8 (more than 1 EV faster) and smaller. And, experience, I have n idea which lens gives what angle without looking through the camera - I need (want) to maintain that.
If "sharpness" is your thing, then consider that a Z 6(ii) has a fuzzy filter (*) while Z 7(ii) and Z 9 don't have that. The fuzzy filter missing, means better low light, more dynamic range and better color space. Because of its larger photosites, a "6" can go higher in ISO, though. The point is, to get 2 times the detail resolution of 24MP, the human eye needs 2x linear more: as linearly doubling a sensor of X*Y=MP gives 2X*2Y=4MP, this means that you would need 96MP to perceive mages as 2 times better - ceteris paribus and with lenses that can resolve both. But, removal of the fuzzy filer makes the 46MP better than you would think along these lines. Still, 24MP is only twice as good as 6MP and half as good as 96MP, ceteris paribus. Because MP are an area number. We measure detail resolution in line-pairs per millimeter (a unit of length, i.e. linear).
My 3rd rant was about the 24MP D-Nikon SLR with AA filter that could go into total reflection when shooting backlit. Because it's SLR, you don't see what's happening in the sensor, but I could end up with a bunch of images with a strong magenta color cast from light bouncing around between sensor and fuzzy filter.
Z 7 and Z 7ii can never do that. Fine cameras, but if you need top speed and AF in the absolutely worst light, then you want the Z 9.
There's a video on YT of a guy demonstrating the Z 9's AF in total darkness after he set the camera to "Starlight". My guess is that the camera uses an infrared light that he does not see, but the camera does see. Still, it worked miraculously.
That all said, technically, for most photography, 24MP is enough. Run your image through Topaz's suite (**) and you'll be surprised. If you want a camera in that resolution ballpark, the look at DX (APS-C) cameras because they very likely don't have a fuzzy filter.
(*) Fuzzy filter is my nickname for an Anti-Aliasing or AA filer or low-pass filter. These disperse of the light traveling to photosite [x,y] in the sensor, also to neighbors thereof. This makes raw processing easier: (1) the guessing the missing colors in a raw file where each data element (one per photosite) only has one color an consequently the two missing ones must be guessed and the given one adjusted. Raw processing happens in camera to JPEGs, non-raw movie, eVF and rear display updates. (2) it makes dealing with jagged edges easier, and potentially banding gradation.
With high resolution sensors, the fuzzy filter becomes a Pain In The Anatomy, to the camera's best performance, so Nikon removed it from the D800 in the D800E version. At the same time, processing power needed for raw processing had become strong enough to be able to do away with the fuzzy filter (Moore's Law). Also, having more detail makes raw processing easier.
(**) From Topaz: DeNoise AI. Sharpen AI. Gigapixel AI. Recently expanded with Photo AI. The latter analyzes your image and proposes how to improve it. If the fix is simple, Photo AI can do it. If more work is needed, then 1, 2, or 3 apps are used to improve the image. Note here that most color noise and luminance noise, or detail loss, are failed raw processing in another app. The information and detail are there, generally already.

For years I was one of those photographers that held off on getting the 50 f/1.2. I had the all the focal lengths a wedding photographer could need. I thought the 50 f1/1.4 was good enough. I was so wrong. I finally got my hands on the 50 f1.2 and its the most amazing lens I have ever owned. I thought the 85 f/1.2 was my everything. But the times i didn't have enough room to stand back to use it was a pain. I would revisit the thought of getting that lens. You will not be disappointed.

I never had an issue with EF version but simply amazed at how much better RF lens is. Just bought 50 1.2 and planning to upgrade my 70-200 to RF also. For portraits I love the 70-200. I also use my 70-200 f2.8 for larger venue ceremonies and certain formals. If I was loaded with $$$$ I’d probably sell it all and go with 2 Nikon Z9’s and get 5 Z lenses to cover from 16mm to 200mm.
