"Why would you need Aura Whisper?" Me, a stealth archer camping out above a bandit hideout, barely able to discern between a bandit and a log pole: Where the heck do I aim?
Me going through a dwemer ruin and seeing 3 red dots (falmer) and forgetting that its a dwemer ruin and fighting two guardians a spider and a centurion that wakens mid fight.
I used Aura whisper for that matter, and because it has a farther range. I allow it to reveal where enemies are in the caves and count how many of them are there before dealing with them.
Me: “Nah I won’t get offended, it’s not like my favorite shout will be the first one on this list.” Vid: “Starting off with Aura Whisper-“ Me: “FUUUUUU-“
Don’t know how aura whisper is not used by stealth builds. To me is quite useful, even more if you have lighting mods, making caves dark AF. Not to mention it has a low ass CD.
I use Kyne's Peace to keep it from running when i get in a fight and it also gives it an Aura Whisper effect so if it still runs ill be able to find it
@@gaolioblivion2150 i know, Shadowmare. It still dies, but it respawns after some time. Still I prefer my horse stays where I dismount. Aggressive horses are sometimes worse than skittish ones, when they end up climbing a tower to fight an archer PS: if I need to fast travel to find my horse, why bother having a horse
Personally, Clear Skies sounds like it would be useful to get rid of clouds, therefore letting you see your surroundings easier with a bright, sunny day instead of a dim, cloudy day. Plus, it's for free because the Greybeards teach you it, so you don't need to use any of your precious dragon souls for it. If you have the fishing creation as well, it may be helpful if you *for some reason* want to get clear day fish instead of rainy fish because it's still raining after you took off your lucky hat.
Meh I think it's stupid how people say that he hasn't played stealth on a high difficulty because he doesn't see much value in the shout but tbh stealth is just so OP on every difficulty that you honestly don't need it.
Aura Whisper is pretty good for Dark Brotherhood quests. You can use it to sort of map a dungeon in 3D, since the distribution of enemies is predictable. It is also handy if you hunt alot. Foxes can be a bit hard to find in the wild. So it's good to get leather and venison, as well as to avoid predators. Or seek them. That feeds into armory, and whatever skill you use to farm prey animals. It preserves magic versus detect life... It's more useful than just that, but I use it perpetually.
ITSecurityNerd I use it to find bunnies to slaughter them. If you look at the combat statistics while in settings while playing your character and you scroll all the way down and look at the bottom statistic you can see how many bunnies you’ve killed
Aura whisper is good for sneaking situations. I sometimes use it when sneaking in to steal, sneak up on targets, get by people without being seen, etc. when on missions like thieves guild or dark brotherhood.
Use clear skies on enemies while in combat - makes enemies flinch like the first word of unrelenting force but takes 5 seconds to recharge. Actually pretty useful for warriors
Fun fact, clear skies will get rid of Alduin's storm call shout when fighting him and the cool down matches up almost perfectly with the duration of dragonrend. Helps a bit when you like to do legendary runs.
The reason Kyne’s Peace is actually one of the best shouts is it practically eliminates the stupid “you cannot fast travel when enemies are nearby” thing
I only use it for hunting souls up to common level. Might try greater and grand if it works on Giants and Mammoths. Now I can stop this stupid shit to. Thanks m8.
Clear skies is an AOE stun when outside. It's like two words of Unrelenting Force in the AOE that it reaches. Like, if it goes 50 ft, it's a 50ft AOE for that stun when outside, on a real low cooldown.
What's actually funny is that Clear Skies is surprisingly overpowered. Because fun fact: the 3-word shout makes an AOE stun effect around you, which you can spam due to Clear Skies having such short cooldown while beating whatever enemy you've now made helpless.
I did the same thing with my parents (non-gamers, but they knew I loved Skyrim, so they humored me). The game's nighttime sky is especially breathtaking and sometimes you've just gotta look up and appreciate it without a shroud of condensation embodying the meaning of the phrase, "You make a better door than a window."
Finally! Someone who gets the whole idea of a sneak build🙌 Yo, reading through the comments and I was beginning to wonder if I was the one playing my sneak character weird by, you know..SNEAKING around
Sneak archers completely trivialize the game which is why I don't play them But I do find aura whisper to be one of the best shouts as any type of character
@@nercopolis99 I think they mean Cidna mine. But it's a very linear quest and you don't have to fight many enemies. Plus you are detected most of the time meaning you can see them on your compass bar
@@nercopolis99 not really. you can make a stealthy character or a thief in which case on early lvls you may be caught. paying gold for it might seem useless if u can just escape. Also escaping is a challange in some way + I believe there is atleast 1 mission in which you have to escape from the prison.
That's actually pretty interesting however I've done the fight about 5 or 6 times now and not once has the meteors actually hit me so it's not really useful unless you have a problem with them
See, the issue with that is it took a mod to make the shout useful more often than not. Therefore, the shout is still useless if you ignore mods since mods could make all of these useless shouts have a better purpose.
@@demodrakkaen0316 clear skies stagger your opponents, like with the first word of unrelenting force, and has lower cooldown, it's actually one of the most useful shouts
@@the_hecaton In my handful of years playing Skyrim, the dozen characters I've made, my friends' half a dozen characters, as well as the plethora of Skyrim let's plays/roleplays I've watched, I have never seen anyone have any need to go out of their way to stagger someone. Now, I assume there are situations you'd need to do that, but they're not prevalent in every possible scenario or even the majority of them. Therefore, it is a situational use and those were ignored due to being useless to a majority of people.
I would argue that clear skies is actually one of the most effective shouts in the game. Using just the first part of the shout staggers enemies 100% of the time, and has like a 3 second cool down. You can essentially stun lock enemies all while smacking them down. That’s how I beat Miraak the first time lmao
I got so mad bc she got stuck on something at the beginning of the dungeon and the boss fucking killed me and the AI was just acting so buggy it’s sucks
Aura whisper is great when you're in a falmer cave and can't see past your nose. It's also great for detecting ambush placements of enemies for stealth and magic characters, runes become more useful for preemptive damage. It can reveal what's trying to jump you in dense forests/rough terrain and where its coming from so you can more easily engage it. It also can reveal where slaughterfish are in rivers so you won't have to spend ridiculous amounts of time wondering why you're in combat with nothing. TLFR; aura whisper lets you use your eyes when your eyes fall flat.
It also is the only way for certain low-end computers to load in grids far beyond their normal capacity, extending one's vision drastically and thus making arrow sniping, frenzy-sniping, and magic sniping possible without possibly fucking up the game with shaky console code manipulation,
Instead of detect life, Aura Whisper shows undead, machines, and daedra. For me shout is better for sneaky character who often goes to Nordic thombs, or Dwemer Ruins.
@@L0b0sc Yea he is wrong on aura whisper. It is obvious he plays bull rush tank characters and assumes everyone else does too which is flat out wrong. The majority of my kills have no idea WHAT killed them.
I remember one time when I was super sleep-deprived and it was dark on the plains of Whiterun. Only time I was ambushed by werewolves, but I seriously yelped like a kicked dog and almost threw my controller. Would've been great if I remembered to use Aura Whisper then to save myself a mini heart attack.
Aura Whisper: detect life that allows you to see undead and automatons. Useful to plan stealth takedowns or infiltration. Kyne's Peace: keeps your horse from either playing hide and seek everytime you get in a fight, or climbing a damn tower to fight an archer Dismay: I agree, the only way to make it useful is to go out of your way to find each word before reaching its effective level. Would have been nice if it were affected by illusion perks Throw Voice: same effect as shooting an arrow to call enemy attention, but you wont be wasting your precious daedric arrows and if all three words are used, it has no cooldown (makes no sense). It would have been better if using more words extended the duration of the distraction and from how far enemies can hear it, follow it up with frenzy when youve attracted enough enemies Clear Skies: removes the meteor shower while fighting Alduin and staggers all humanoid enemies as if using lvl2 Unrelenting Force. Also not everyone plays on pc and even if they do, not everyone uses console commands. Some of us like to roleplay and become immersed, you know. I cant believe you made a list of useless shouts and didnt mention the worst of all. Disarm: same problem as Dismay, requires you to learn the words before reaching the point where its no longer effective, and even when it does affect them, they will instantly pick up and re-equip their weapons or draw another from their inventory. When Draugr use this shout on me my weapon flies all over the place, forcing me to reload my save if i cant find my weapon, making me hate this shout even more because its only useful against the player.
Agreed. I mean, saying "Just use console commands" was very bad. I genually disliked that. But hey, maybe he was just kidding about the "useless shout"... even if he didn't sounded like joking...
I actually think the Clear Skies shout is pretty neat, since when you’re on top of a mountain or out in the wilderness at night or something like that, and you use the shout, you can see the northern lights and the moons. It’s honestly breathtaking every time.
I always use it when there's a snowstorm. I hate the snow going all over the screen, and imagine my character and his follower must be freezing (they're Dunmer, cold is not their thing), so he clears the sky to everyone's enjoyment.
Then I must be one of thoes few that don't I always, always play stealth and arrows cost nothing and everyone has them so it's just easier to send an arrow flying to get them to move. I can't ever recall using the Aura Whisper shout except once.
Also useful to clear sky after storm call. Can’t tell you the number of times I let storm go on and got hit by lightning before I started using clear sky to remove it
funny, aura whisper is one of my favorite shouts in the game. it's amazing for sneak based builds or even just from a tactical stand point. knowing exactly where an enemy is, and more important what type of enemy you're dealing with in advance, can give you quite the tactical advantage and can help you deal with enemies, before they can even know you are there, which, again, makes it incredible useful for builds that want to stay out of sight. guess it's not so useful for an in your face warrior type of playstyle, whose only motto is run in and smash, but for a thief or an assassin? best shout ever. also it's incredible useful when your using lighting mods and want to see in a dungeon or something, without drawing everyones attention towards you, by running around with a torch or a floating light over your head.
so much this - as much as I agree with his other choices, this one is incredibly useful, probably my most used shout on any character that relies on stealth.
I know what your talkin about the aura whisper shout can be used for sneaking past people after you know where there gonna walk that is what I use it for
thechatteringclown funny, my first character ended up being a weird mix between destruction mage, stealth archer and heavy armored warrior/tank, used aura whisper more than Unrelenting Force or Ice Form
and you can shout at guards to stagger them without them getting hostile. "Stop that... shouting" *shouts* "ok ok... I can't do anything to you... ffffffff"
download cheat room and it gives you an alteration spell that allows you to change the weather to whatever you want even sovngarde sky box. it's immersive too cause it counts as a spell you cast and not a console command
The one downside to Aura Whisper was the uptime to downtime ratio got worse with more tiers. I just got the one from the dragon wall near Shor's Stone and left it at that
You said to not get triggered if someones fav shout is on the list. I was like who would get mad over such a stupid thing. *Gets mad after my fav shout is listed first*
One time I actually used clear skies to save my life when I was playing legendary. I was at the college of winterhold and I left one of the areas and a dragon attacked me. I was a low level Mage that was barely wearing any armor and it was snowing so much that I couldn't see the dragon so I used clear skies and murdered that dragon
bluewho 96 the only thing that i'm going to get salty for in this comment section is this cancerous dog filter u put on ur face to hide the fact u r ugly af
Clear Skies dispels Alduin's Meteor shout too, making those fights easier. It's also useful for survival based mods such as Frostfall. You can use Clear Skies to make the weather less harsh, therefore making survival a bit easier.
Stealth is so dead simple once you get any ranks into it that the shout is negligible. There's also very few situations where you don't know where everyone is, and even if you don't, it's not too important because stealth is that easy. Throw voice is also useless because... well... how often do you need to distract enemies to an area? I guess if you don't want to engage, but why not just knock an arrow? Those distract enemies just as well, and don't require points in illusion. The shouts just don't help enough to be necessary.
@@ohno5507 anyone can use whatever they want and I think it's a matter of preference. Right now I'm playing a two-handed orc. @@shibenue2890 well, yeah, anyone can use what they want. The point was that aura whisper and throw voice are incredibly optional, and aren't very useful to a stealth character. Throw voice can be supplemented with arrows (not that distraction is too useful), and aura whisper really just doesn't help much. It doesn't hurt, but it's far from necessary for a stealth build. I mean, you're the one who said you doubt he played a stealth character because he didn't find them useful, as if him not using it made him a bad stealth player; so if anyone needs a talk about player preference, it's you.

Aura whisper: sniper's bff Clear skies: stagger skill with 5 second cooldown Dismay: free hit to enemies (specially useful in legendary) Kyne's peace: remember this, legendary mudcrabs can 1 hit the dragonborn. Now imagine a bear. Throw voice: Hey, melon nose!
I agree with all of those. I would add that Kyne’s peace is useful when wandering the plains and trying to raise your archery skill organically. Killing deer is a bitch, but Kyne’s peace can be a useful tool.
Yeah, I find myself using detect life and even detect dead a surprising amount of the time, except aura whisper also detects dwemer robots iirc. Detect dead is especially useful when a boss you want to loot goes flying off into some dark corner where you can’t find them lmao. That being said I play a mage with cost reduction gear (necklace, ring, archmage robes) and a huge magicka pool that regenerates fast out of combat because of morokei so the cost is negligible.
Yep true, when i rp as a thief or an assassin,as a thief i want to see if i'm cought when i steal from behind and let the victims leave,or as an assassin to cut theyr throats
Yes the Aura Whisper is very useful when doing sneak attacks on bandits out in the open. i love sneaking up on those bastards and slitting their stupid, drunken, murderous necks.
it has one other use. Those with crap monitors or crap eyes (or in my case, both), it it's night time, I can't see a thing. So, it, detect life, and Night eye are super useful.
Clear skies becomes one of THE most lifesaving and best shouts when using the frostfall mod. Was trapped in the snowy tundra between winterhold and dawnstar in a blizzard. Shout literally saved me from becoming a McDonald's frozen yoghurt.
I was about to say this then saw your post. Frostfall changes the game in a dramatic way, really enhancing roleplaying. I have had Clear Skies save my ass from being frozen to the ground, rain-soaked woolen clothes and all, more than once.
that would be a boring and generic dragon fight though, the only thing i found worthwhile in that battle was the epic sky that had meteors falling everywhere, its not like they hit you often anyway you just run around and they miss every time.
@@Gameprojordan thing is, the radius is absolutely massive and it's possible to have non-essential NPCs you want alive killed by the meteors/lightning (works on normal call-storms too)
Aura Whisper is one of my favorite shouts for my stealthy character, especially in dungeons. It helps you to see which Draugers are gonna wake up, and you can stealth kill them.
kind of is if you know how npc's act. it's not normally needed thou i normally play as either a warrior or mage so need it even less i only really play a stealth character if i role play as a theft
I think his definition of "useless" means "not needed". It's fair to say that you never need aura whisper. That said, it's a lot of fun to use, and kicks the snot out of all the "detect x" spells.
In that case, SykoLiu, Armour, Weapons and magic are all useless, right? You can do a naked monk run and just beat everything to death, only ever have to use two shouts in the game (Flame Breath, on Parthurnax when he teaches you it and Clear Skies to get to him)
@Lynton Fleming I appreciate that you're trying to use an absurd example to prove a point (a favourite technique of mine too), but it unfortunately doesn't really work here. Without using aura whisper, you can successfully play as any character archetype you want (e.g., warrior, mage, thief, assassin, etc.). Your monk example is a very specific example. It'd be like me saying, "Of course the fireball spell is useless! My level 56 warrior has never used it any been totally fine!". A specific play style can't be used to make a general statement. It comes down to logical reasoning skills: large scale can inform small scale but usually not the other way around.
Yeah I just like using clear skies. Especially when Serana complains about the weather. It’s like “man yells at cloud” except the cloud goes “understandable, have a nice day” and leaves.
I use the non-shout version personally, not the 'detect life' one but the 'Summon 2 fuckin' Dremora Lords to aggro everything while I sneak and snipe everything' one
That might be a bug then, for me if my summonables or followers have aggro and im unseen I still get my sneak crits, I do however play on PC and use the Unofficial Skyrim Patches so that might have fixed that if it is indeed a bug
Actually he said Kyne’s Peace was the usless one, and used Animal Allegiance as an example of a better version of Kyne’s Peace And if you’re gonna woooosh me, just do it
I know this is super old but I recently started playing again and made a mage trickster using illusion and conjuration and a little destruction (lightening only) and this shout is amazing, 3 mammoths taken out super easily and when you are up north and 2 snow bears and 3 ice wolves come out of nowhere can all be taken as useful companions. If you are an illusionist/conjurer and like to stay out of combat and let other things fight then this shout is a fun one. Honestly 60% of this list he made is just incorrect lol
Aura whisper is awesome. It sounds great too. No need to use and drain magicka and waste one hand. I used it extensively during one of my werewolf playthroughs. Great for dungeon clearing.
I live off aura whisper I'm visually impaired and sometimes telling the people from the background especially in the caves or dungeons is hard as hell but aura whisper lights them up like Christmas trees for me
True, i hate the lv npc of skyrim make frenzy weak asf. Exspecially for those who think sneaky alchemist can poison enemies to make them frenzy. Or illusion spell. I have to never level up for frenzy poison to work. The build was even hard if you doesnt have the lv implant. You cant have poison for every encounter you see. 1 thing i see fun when you dont lv up is hunting. Cast courage on deer and elk then loot thier corpse
I actually like using Clear Skies in conjunction with weather mods that add debuffs if you're caught in a storm or blizzard. That way I can make it sunny on command.
The same reason you would use Antibiotics in Fallout 4's survival mode. Having a ton of stuff you need to keep track of makes the game fun for me. Skyrim is way too easy without having to keep track of enemies, terrain, weather, food and water all at the same time.
Exactly. Clear Skies is a shout I've used quite a bit. With the Frostfall mod (or similar), you'll need to avoid trudging around in cold and wet conditions for long, and so stopping the rain has real utility. Why use such mods? To make the game more challenging, or for immersive roleplaying.
You could say that to balanced shouts, but then we have absolutely beastly shouts like Dragon Aspect and crappy ones like Fire Breath that get worse the higher your level is.
"Just use a console command lul" is by far the worst excuse I've heard to justify calling a shout useless. Just use tgm and tcl then, you're an invincible flying god! Hence, all shouts are useless!!

One thing I love about the Frostfall mod is that it makes Clear Skies a good utility shout. Since rain really makes you colder in that mod, having clear skies makes moving cross country a lot easier.
Even without the mod. It's still objectively really strong since it staggers everything in meele range and has a much shorter cooldown than unrelenting force
hahaha u need clear skies to cancel alduin's shout that's kinda pitiful tbh I play a pure mage wearing clothes (no armour) and meteor shower just tickles me
The Greybeards always seem to be hiding from me whenever I go to High Hrothgar, so that's pretty much the only time I use aura whisper. And because I like the fact that you whisper instead of shout. I collect unique things.
You realize Clear Skies will stagger enemies while you are outside, and has virtually no cool down, right? It's actually top-notch crowd control. Better than Unrelenting Force when you are outdoors.
Donovan Gray - if memory serves, doesn't Clear Skies also work a treat in Sovngarde when Alduin is raining hellfire meteors down upon you? I'm sure I used it to basically purge his storm clouds the moment they formed.
Aura whisper is the only shout I use...lol I'm a stealth Archer, and I like to be able to kill draugr before they get up. And see where everyone is to sneak around. 🤷🏼♂️
I see a lot of people saying that aura whisper is essential for legendary difficulty stealth gameplay which is just bs. I almost always play stealth/illusion characters (always on legendary) and I never used that shout because enemy's are just so loud in this game so you can always detect them that way. Stealth is just so OP in this game that it honestly doesn't matter on what difficulty you play because everything is one shot anyway. You just have to be more careful and actually think before you kill someone.
Aura Whisper: Strictly better detect life that last a long time, has a short cooldown, is easier to acquire, doesn't require switching out your weapon, reveals damn near every enemy in the dungeon with a single button press, and doesn't have the crazy magicka cost. Kyne's Peace: Keeps your horse nearby, also useful when walking into a spriggan lair. Clear Skies: Gameplay isn't everything. Aesthetics are important too. If I don't like the rain, I now don't have to worry about the rain. Meanwhile, Elemental Fury literally doesn't work if your weapon has an enchantment.
Clear Sky: So you don't just get maul by a snow bear you can bearly spot (ba-dum-tss) in a blizzard, more useful in Survimal mode too, remove the one sided vision impalement that somehow does not affect NPC detection rate.
Clear skies is very useful for those of us using Frostfall or other survival mods. That extra clear weather can mean the difference between life and death in some cases. Especially if traveling in the northern areas of the map and higher elevations.
What are you talking about "if you have to mod the game to make it useful it isn't usefull" he is talking about one of the most commonly downloaded mods and 90% of people who still play skyrim don't play vanilla
@@packerman1203 not unless you're standing right next to them - it literally sounds like a whisper. it's so handy for stealth playthroughs I use it constantly
Bro clear skies shout is one of the most useful shouts, the first word staggers and has insane range, combine that with a shield and paralysis enchanted sword and you have a perfect dps build.
This. Just so much this. I've actually favourited the detect life spell for this exact purpose. Also for finding that one last enemy I need to clear out a place. I wish this spell/shout existed in Fallout 4 for when a quest NPC bugged out and was on a house roof with no way to get down.
Me too. The only one I don't use is the Dismay shout, since I don't want to chase my victims across the entire map. I instead use Become Ethereal as an 'invincibility frame' to charge masterspells or the like. It's also really useful for my mage, since when it is active, you don't lose stamina or magica, only regain it. So it's a little faster when you are running to places or need to recharge some Mana.
@@mattynator911 But you would still need to go out of your way to get telekinesis, don't you? Not to mention the glitch itself. For conjuration just buy soul trap from the wizard of Whiterun, kill an animal and spam. Before you even get the Dragonstone you can have 100 Conjuration within the hour. Less magicka use than Muffle too, which is why I say it's faster.
Kyne’s Peace is an amazing shout. You want to know why? Remember every moment you try to fast travel, but there’s that annoying slaughter fish or two that refuse to let you leave. So what do you do? Shout it out and they should be within range for the shout to kick in and allow you to leave.

Alright, I suppose not everyone is a masochist like myself who plays only on Legendary. But the Clear Skies one actually triggered me as it can dispell Alduin's meteor storm.
Illegal Aliens: Well to each their own luck. As far as I'm aware, there are no recorded damage values for the meteors, what I'm trying to point out is that with my setup, getting hit by one of them would be most unfortunate during an intense fight(which in the case of Alduin it kinda is). Both Clear Skyes and Dragonrend have a cooldown of 15 seconds. Clear Skyes lasts a maximum of 60 seconds, while Dragonrend lasts a maximum of 22. While using CS once you may have a 7 second window of time in which Alduin can take to the sky, but keeping him pinned down while having Gormlaith, Hakon and Felldir tank his regular attacks for you is kinda cheap in my opinion and later on you may go on the forums only to see people going like:"Ugh, Alduin is too ez!" I do agree that powerleveling could be seen as a solution, in which you increase your health and then tank the damage, maybe even combine it with some magic resistance, although the damage type isn't specified. I usually complete the main quest after level 40. But powerleveling as a whole? C'mon, we can all agree it breaks immersion and takes the satisfaction away from working hard to become the hero everyone needs.
Nicolas Khan: And I quote:"99.95% useless", end quote. Statistically, you are more correct than he is with your 1% as compared to his 0.05%, but the only utilities he manages to point out are 'muh screenshots' and 'muh Throat of the World convenient fog clearing shout' while completely disregarding its other interactions like stopping Alduin's Meteor Storm, that niche ministun which only works outdoors and makes the game exploitable and the auroras it creates which are suited for a setup like Skyrim and are genuinely breathtaking! Now, while that doesn't necessarily make it the best shout in the game, it's usefulness shouldn't, in my opinion, be ranked as low as "99.95% useless". That is what I am arguing for. Now another interesting interaction would be its use on the Bloodcursed sun achievable through the Dawnguard DLC.I haven't tested it out myself and the UESP Wiki only states that reading the Sun or the Blood Scroll may bring the sky back to its normal state. Wouldn't it have been an interesting turn of events if Harkon got his hands on the bow and the blood of a Daughter of Coldharbour and bolts out the sun at his own leisure? The Dragonborn seeks the help of Paarthurnax to better understand what role Auri-El play in the whole "Aka" dichotomy and you somehow come to the idea of using Clear Skyes to remove the curse and now, Harkon would seek to destroy you and everyone able to use the Thu'um as well as laying his claws on Serana in order to make sure he can use Auriel's Bow whenever he pleases, thus making the whole conflict a lot more personal than the vanilla story of "gotta save the world again"? What do you think?
It can stagger enemies and has a shorter shout cool down than Unrelenting Force. Personally, if I'm not fighting a huge enemy or a Dragon, I use Clear Skies WAYYY more than Unrelenting Force. It's so goddamn helpful when fighting multiple enemies CQC. I stagger them and then just take out all the enemies fairly quickly.
I usually do a bow/stealth build and I love using throw voice to bring groups of enemies that wonder out of site to get where I can shoot them. And it's also fantastic fun to make drahgers*** walk into traps repeatedly until they die "Hey I know we got set on fire 3 times already but I swear to the gods there is someone over there"
draco hunter I agree, I actually use throw voice alot with my stealth/assassin character to basically draw out enemies and set them up for better positioning, especially on legendary. With a CD of just seconds it's awesome.
Throw Voice is worth it just to hear your character shout "Hey, skeever butt!"😂

There is a immortal horse that you can keep on the Dark Brotherhood, plus, every time you fast travel it will be there AND it will fight for you.
@@gaolioblivion2150 i know, Shadowmare. It still dies, but it respawns after some time. Still I prefer my horse stays where I dismount. Aggressive horses are sometimes worse than skittish ones, when they end up climbing a tower to fight an archer

I'm just here to join the defense of Aura Whisper and Clear Skies
Regarding Clear Skies and it's usefulness I only have one word necessary as to why it is an amazing shout ...
Frostfall.
I use Aura Whisper a lot. Especially since I’m pretty jumpy when playing. 😁
Clear Skies saved my life a multitude of times in Survival Mode.
Im glad that everyone is defending Clear Skies and Aura Whisper
Meh I think it's stupid how people say that he hasn't played stealth on a high difficulty because he doesn't see much value in the shout but tbh stealth is just so OP on every difficulty that you honestly don't need it.
Clear Skies is really good for Frostfall or similar survival mods where you can get cold

Clear skies is an AOE stun when outside. It's like two words of Unrelenting Force in the AOE that it reaches. Like, if it goes 50 ft, it's a 50ft AOE for that stun when outside, on a real low cooldown.
Damn You're Good So it pushes them back or stuns them for a bit?

What's actually funny is that Clear Skies is surprisingly overpowered. Because fun fact: the 3-word shout makes an AOE stun effect around you, which you can spam due to Clear Skies having such short cooldown while beating whatever enemy you've now made helpless.

RyanVader5 I would love a PC although my PS3 and PS4 are still great
Aura Whisper: detect life that allows you to see undead and automatons. Useful to plan stealth takedowns or infiltration.
Kyne's Peace: keeps your horse from either playing hide and seek everytime you get in a fight, or climbing a damn tower to fight an archer
Dismay: I agree, the only way to make it useful is to go out of your way to find each word before reaching its effective level. Would have been nice if it were affected by illusion perks
Throw Voice: same effect as shooting an arrow to call enemy attention, but you wont be wasting your precious daedric arrows and if all three words are used, it has no cooldown (makes no sense). It would have been better if using more words extended the duration of the distraction and from how far enemies can hear it, follow it up with frenzy when youve attracted enough enemies
Clear Skies: removes the meteor shower while fighting Alduin and staggers all humanoid enemies as if using lvl2 Unrelenting Force.
When Draugr use this shout on me my weapon flies all over the place, forcing me to reload my save if i cant find my weapon, making me hate this shout even more because its only useful against the player.

funny, aura whisper is one of my favorite shouts in the game. it's amazing for sneak based builds or even just from a tactical stand point. knowing exactly where an enemy is, and more important what type of enemy you're dealing with in advance, can give you quite the tactical advantage and can help you deal with enemies, before they can even know you are there, which, again, makes it incredible useful for builds that want to stay out of sight.
guess it's not so useful for an in your face warrior type of playstyle, whose only motto is run in and smash, but for a thief or an assassin? best shout ever.

"Aura Whisper and Throw Voice are useless." I heard that you said you've played a stealth character but i kinda doubt it...

LITERALLY AT THE START OF THE VIDEO :"aura whisper is useless"
kind of is if you know how npc's act. it's not normally needed thou i normally play as either a warrior or mage so need it even less i only really play a stealth character if i role play as a theft
He plays on Easy, which he forgot to mention.
*a shout with the word whisper in it*
Yep, you don't actually shout when you use this "Shout". It's designed for stealth builds
aaaaaaaaaaaaa.
That's just talking in a stable tone.
Yet it's somehow still useful besides what he said.
I’m wondering why he even bothers with talking about how “shitty” Throw Voice is. The goddamn shout time is, like, 5 seconds

Aura whisper is amazing for stealth characters
I use the non-shout version personally, not the 'detect life' one but the 'Summon 2 fuckin' Dremora Lords to aggro everything while I sneak and snipe everything' one
That might be a bug then, for me if my summonables or followers have aggro and im unseen I still get my sneak crits, I do however play on PC and use the Unofficial Skyrim Patches so that might have fixed that if it is indeed a bug
“Animal allegiance is useless”

@@koencagurangan3256 I would but I don't have a reddit account
I know this is super old but I recently started playing again and made a mage trickster using illusion and conjuration and a little destruction (lightening only) and this shout is amazing, 3 mammoths taken out super easily and when you are up north and 2 snow bears and 3 ice wolves come out of nowhere can all be taken as useful companions. If you are an illusionist/conjurer and like to stay out of combat and let other things fight then this shout is a fun one. Honestly 60% of this list he made is just incorrect lol
Not just mammoths, those god damn bugs in snow elf dungeons get effected too and really makes things easier.

Oh man, those bitches get affected too? I just might consider using Animal Allegiance as a main shout in my next ESV playthrough now-
I personally like Aura Whisper when I play an assassin/sneaky archer but that maybe just me though.
Theo Boyadjiev Same. Easier to sneak when you know where everyone is.
Aura whisper is awesome. It sounds great too. No need to use and drain magicka and waste one hand.
I used it extensively during one of my werewolf playthroughs. Great for dungeon clearing.

I actually like using Clear Skies in conjunction with weather mods that add debuffs if you're caught in a storm or blizzard. That way I can make it sunny on command.
0002niarDneK if you're just going to clear the debuffs with the shout, why have the mod at all
The same reason you would use Antibiotics in Fallout 4's survival mode.
Hmm, yeah the balance between excessive micromanaging and strategic gameplay is a tough one to strike
0002niarDneK i was about to say the same thing lol

“Shouts that are bad if you play on novice difficulty”
Well, knowing where your enemies are is still a huge advantage in a difficulty where each enemy is strong & you really don't want 1 vs many situation.
Throw voice can be useful in cases where you're sniping in stealth & you want enemies in your vision.
Dismay is pretty useless tho. Let’s be honest.
If aura whisper had lower shout recharge then it would be worth it, like 10/15/20seconds
It also has a rather short cooldown.
Clear Sky: So you don't just get maul by a snow bear you can bearly spot (ba-dum-tss) in a blizzard, more useful in Survimal mode too, remove the one sided vision impalement that somehow does not affect NPC detection rate.
Clear Skies also makes it easier to shoot the sun with Auriel's Bow.

In the heat of battle it's easy to press the button for too long, so why risk it when you have a shout with the same functionality, less recharge time, has no possibility of mess-ups and also possibly greatly improves visibility?
Alright, I suppose not everyone is a masochist like myself who plays only on Legendary. But the Clear Skies one actually triggered me as it can dispell Alduin's meteor storm.
Please read the title of the video
Ive literally never been hit by one of Alduins meteors, and (usually) dont die to him. Maybe you should powerlevel or something.
While using CS once you may have a 7 second window of time in which Alduin can take to the sky, but keeping him pinned down while having Gormlaith, Hakon and Felldir tank his regular attacks for you is kinda cheap in my opinion and later on you may go on the forums only to see people going like:"Ugh, Alduin is too ez!"
I do agree that powerleveling could be seen as a solution, in which you increase your health and then tank the damage, maybe even combine it with some magic resistance, although the damage type isn't specified.
And it's also fantastic fun to make drahgers*** walk into traps repeatedly until they die
"Hey I know we got set on fire 3 times already but I swear to the gods there is someone over there"
draco hunter lol I use the shout throw voice and freeze time I sometimes use marked for death but my favorite shout is freeze time
draco hunter I agree, I actually use throw voice alot with my stealth/assassin character to basically draw out enemies and set them up for better positioning, especially on legendary. With a CD of just seconds it's awesome.
