In the wake of recent losses in the blues world over the years, Anson has now ascended to the ranks of true legend-hood. Still a great joy listening to him both talk and play. Thank you.
I saw him back in the 90's at Fitzgerald's in Berwyn, Illinois. I introduced myself and thanked him for all the great music. He seemed genuinely grateful and humbled by my comment. Then him and Sam tore the place up!
Man what a great interview. Awesome job on one of the finest blues guitar players out there. And straight- up gentleman. I was lucky enough to meet Anson when he came down to Australia, some years back.He invited my wife and I back to his room for a chat, and let me play his guitar. Put it right in my hands, and spoke like he had all the time in the world for us.Unbelievable. Kudos to you, sir, for helping keep Anson's name out there. And Thankyou Anson for coming to Australia, with Sam .🙏
One of my favorite guitar solos of all time was played by Anson on the James "Thunderbird" Davis remake of Hello Sundown on the Check Out Time LP that was on Black Top records.

Thanks for this interview. I saw him back in the 90s at Billy Blues in Houston with Sam Myers. Awesome show. I love his style. Good Texas Blues grooves. Great solos.
Thanks for the GREAT interview! Regarding the name of the harmonica player alluded to around 25:25, it's Walter Liniger. I have a tape of Son Thomas with Walter on the harmonica, I think it is on the Rooster label. I haven't listened to it in a long time, though, because I don't have a reliable tape player anymore.

The interviewer is getting an education (e.g. Hammond Scott, King Biscuit Blues Festival). Me too!
