I bought this tent a week ago. First time setting it up was easy, but soon I realised that I would use a “help guy rope” (if that is the word in English) on the pole to keep it up while pitching the rest. Works like a charm. Still have to wait for heavy wind and rain to see how it will perform. Thanks for the video, I like it.
I have the exact same tent. It is tricky to pitch. I'd recommend pegging it loosely all around and then tightening until you get it level. I use it for solo trips but could easily fit 3-4 people if I actually liked camping with people.
Good to see you doing your thing, David. Re the Robens tents - I've had a Robens Klondike for years, it's got great build quality and has weathered many a storm. They make good tents.
Dave’s right, it takes a minute to get familiar with your gear and camp set up. We go every weekend and my family helps me set up the RV in ten minutes or so. Anyway, that’s a pretty sweet little rig. Enjoy your beach vacation brother!
Thank you, my friend for all the things that you have done for us. I have learned so much from your videos, and the enjoyment factor that I have gotten is off the chart. God bless you and your family. John
Looks like it would make a great scouts tent too! Thanks for showing us around brother! Hope you and Iris have a great time at the beach! Best wishes as always from across the pond 👍🏽👍🏽😎
Ì have a Robens Voyager 3 ex tent had it for 5 years and it is a fantastic tent just as good as the so praised Swedish tents it is a three season tent, but in winter it is top , Robens is a very good tent maker.
Dave, I always take a moment to look for a new update, as I subscribe to your channel (don't trust RUclips for notifications - sad when you think about it).No worries Bud, your on my "favourites list" along with Cpl. Kelly and a few other Pathfinder instructors (pardon the Canadian spelling hee hee). Sincerely hope that all is well with you and family, continue moving forward, God Bless!
Looks like a cool tent. Not sure about many tent stakes it takes. If you are camping on a beach (meaning sand) but it looked like more than four. I used to tie rope to a fire wood log and bury the log for the tent stakes. Does a great job when you get high winds that tends to happen on a beach.
I wanted to get a one pole tent, but at the time the only ones available were close to $1k... so I got a Kodiak canvas 2P tent, which I am very happy with!
Seems like a variant of a tepee but sort of like a wedge tent with attached vestibule. Please be sure to review this after you give it a good go, would be interested to hear your thoughts then. Seems like it has some very good airflow features. Thanks for showing it to us! All the best to you and have a great one with the Misses next weekend!
Did we ever get a peek of the inside of the tent itself or did I just miss it somehow? Looks like an awesome tent. I look forward to seeing inside when you're actually using it. Keep up the great work.
Very nice tent. Thanks for sharing the setup. As for notifications, I never relied on email notifications ....just simply went to RUclips and look for notifications there. Your uploads are always savored. I actually like to watch them during a time I know I will have peace and quite. Kind of like savoring that last cookie. God Bless you and yours. BTW...how is the house coming along?
Thanks Dave. I my last video i made a Swiss Arrow. I saw this the first time on this channel ..about 8 years ago. But now the video is deleted... i couldn't it find anymore.
I think this is the first video I’ve ever seen Dave in shorts lol even on dual survivor I can’t remember shorts ever. Btw best Dual Survivor host of them all... show went down hill fast after
OMG! LOL! Yep you're right! Started in 2008 but didn't sign up to Y.T. till 2 years ago or so.Yeah man! 12 years! Gosh it didn't seem that long ago. I thought 9 years maybe. Loved all the vids! It's amazing all the things you, your family, instructors, sponsors, affiliates and friends have brought to us that's quite entertaining and darned if Y'all didn't sneak an 10 C's education in on me too. P.S. That spider shelter ain't as easy as I though it would be. I tried. Learned moderation after that one for sure. And the discount bushcraft kit hooked me for good! Love that thought.
Thanks for the preview, Dave! This reminded me of the prototype Pathfinder tarp/tent you previewed. Did that ever get produced, and if so, where can it be found? Informative and comprehensive as always
Hey Dave what kinda tent advice you got for hot humid weather? Man I hate sleeping on plastic bathtubs in the heat. Love your channel man been watching for a.few.years.now myself.
If you're going beach camping, you're going to want some longer stakes. When you think you've gone long enough, go longer. I use 22 inch long stakes on my Kodiak canvas Strongbow tent when we camp at Cape Lookout.
Dave I consider you the king of outdoors knowledge. I was just wondering why you got a 3 season tent. There are 4 season options that are identical to the one you got. The deluxe matador 4 person tent is the 1 I have been considering. Carry items that have more than 1 use. Your words great words. Not trying to troll you . I still think you are 1 of the best. I just question this decision. That said it does look like a nice tent. Have a great day. Hope everything is going good after your fire. Have not seen any follow up on that. Keep up the great content.
I would have liked to see an inside view of the tent. What kind of ventilation does it have? Is it just the small vent at the top or are there windows? How many doors? Being a lazy American, I would have very much appreciated if you would have listed the dimensions in 'murican units as well as metric. Also, a link to the tent (even with a "non-endorsement" statement) would have been nice.
I like the look of the tent, but I am wondering about the flooring for it and if there is a way to keep animals and insects out when it is closed. Everything else looks nice on it and would be nice to have for camping out if there is a two adults situation and not much equipment to keep in the tent.
I lost power for a week due to storm isaias and watched dual survival on generator power. Mad respect to Dave Canterbury and cauterizing a self inflicted arm laceration with gun powder. Simply badass.
You’d think RUclips doesn’t want to be in business anymore. I don’t get notifications anymore, but I still watch. Robens aren’t they a German company? Nice looking tent!
Question for you Dave or anyone: I stay outdoors constantly. I use a lot of insect repellents, but I just don't feel they are safe, don't like how they feel on the skin. Is there any you prefer or something natural that works great?
Asking everyone for their experience....are bugs a problem when in a floorless tent? Thinking of Northern European climates. Camping bed would also be used probably.
Any single pole tent design relies heavily on the stakes for shape, not just stability. Since you're taking it to the beach, would you mind sharing some tips for staking into soft sand? I'd appreciate that.
Yup, I'm getting notifications via email and through the RUclips app on my phone. Always a pleasure to see what you're up to there Kemosabe. Inktristink looking tent. We're still SAE here in the good ol' US of A... that metric nonsense is just garbledegook to us old timers.
Great to see a review from someone who so clearly knows their stuff; really helped me make a decision on this tent.
Very cool tent. Congrats on 13 years of you wanting to share and just giving away knowledge and know-how. Thanks for everything, Dave!

Been with you for YEARS and I’ll always be watching brother!

Very interesting looks like a good tent, hope you will show some more of the inside space etc. Good to see you again.
Dave , We the people need more good show & tell from you keep on doing your outdoors ventures GOD bless !
I like the randomness of your uploads, Dave. It's a nice surprise every time I see a new video!
Dave’s right, it takes a minute to get familiar with your gear and camp set up. We go every weekend and my family helps me set up the RV in ten minutes or so. Anyway, that’s a pretty sweet little rig. Enjoy your beach vacation brother!

My wife and I own a Robens voyager 3 tent that we use, it’s the best tent we have ever owned. Great overview Dave, thanks.
Man tents have come a long way in the past 15 years.
Thank you, my friend for all the things that you have done for us. I have learned so much from your videos, and the enjoyment factor that I have gotten is off the chart. God bless you and your family. John

Dave... Keep the channel as it is. Your busy brother, heck, we always look for your videos anyway.👍.
2 is 1 and a 4 person tent is a 2 person tent. LOL
Yes. It is

About 12-16 I didn't count
I wanted to get a one pole tent, but at the time the only ones available were close to $1k... so I got a Kodiak canvas 2P tent, which I am very happy with!
Good looking tent. Like the full fly

Looks like an excellent quality tent. I've always liked cone style tents and wanted to own one.
Great video as an intro, hope to see a review later on! You really should try the Swedish Tentipi in canvas and have a fire or a stove for comfort!
OMG! LOL! Yep you're right! Started in 2008 but didn't sign up to Y.T. till 2 years ago or so.Yeah man! 12 years! Gosh it didn't seem that long ago. I thought 9 years maybe. Loved all the vids! Been a while for sure
Thanks for the preview, Dave! This reminded me of the prototype Pathfinder tarp/tent you previewed. Did that ever get produced, and if so, where can it be found?
Informative and comprehensive as always
It was sold and manufactured by Tentsmiths
Lots of old school European army surplus gear being remade by big companies.
This is a modified polish lavvu .
Hey Dave what kinda tent advice you got for hot humid weather? Man I hate sleeping on plastic bathtubs in the heat. Love your channel man been watching for a.few.years.now myself.
I sleep on a klymite inflatable pad.

Dave, you recommend stainless steel cookware over aluminium but what are your thoughts on titanium cookware please?
Looks like a good solid tent. Thanks Dave...
Have to say-thank you for all the inspirations !
Neat tent

I thought I had that footage but...I’ll get some at the beach
I always thought Dave had the life. Kool dude..
Hey Dave did you ever go to fairland schools in proctorville
Dave , how did you find this tent performed on a beach, did you pitch it in the sand?
I like the look of the tent, but I am wondering about the flooring for it and if there is a way to keep animals and insects out when it is closed. Everything else looks nice on it and would be nice to have for camping out if there is a two adults situation and not much equipment to keep in the tent.
Looks like a nice tent, thanks Dave, always learn from and enjoy your videos. Alan Rice.
I lost power for a week due to storm isaias and watched dual survival on generator power. Mad respect to Dave Canterbury and cauterizing a self inflicted arm laceration with gun powder. Simply badass.
Dave do you think your going to come out with more books?
Less weight than I expected. Thanks for sharing

Lol, I was not expecting this, Canterbury UK is a very different place
Grande Dave, obrigado por mais esse video. Thank you!
Cool tent .
Nice video. I know the brand. They make quality products.
Very nice, roomy tent!
You’d think RUclips doesn’t want to be in business anymore. I don’t get notifications anymore, but I still watch. Robens aren’t they a German company? Nice looking tent!
Danish I believe
LOVE YOU DAVE!@!!!!!!!!
Question for you Dave or anyone: I stay outdoors constantly. I use a lot of insect repellents, but I just don't feel they are safe, don't like how they feel on the skin. Is there any you prefer or something natural that works great?
Looks to me like a modern version of a Sibley tent.
Would have like to seen the inside. Be well.
I thought I had that footage but...I’ll get some at the beach
Asking everyone for their experience....are bugs a problem when in a floorless tent? Thinking of Northern European climates. Camping bed would also be used probably.
Looks cool!
Kling fast als wenn Er Moin Guys sagt…
Grüße aus Northern Germany Moin😉💪
Bom dia para todos 💪👀👂
so yo now gunna sell robens ? I have been looking at their tents for years
Cool tent. I love my luxe tepee tent. It’s smaller but very similar 👍
Any single pole tent design relies heavily on the stakes for shape, not just stability. Since you're taking it to the beach, would you mind sharing some tips for staking into soft sand? I'd appreciate that.

Agree on the SAE. It's not our fault the whole world went psycho with the metric system. 👍
Dave man! Love ya, but you have to look into the lense of the camera man! All good awesome tent
Dont use a camera but I am looking at the iPhone when I am shooting, thanks for watching
Thank you for the video.
Is that an Iceman tattoo on your neck?! If so that's awesome! Can you explain your reasoning for getting this tattoo?
Yes it is
Thanks for the video 👍
