  • Hi guys
    I wonder who gave the name to this worm... wonderworm...!
    He was pretty accurate to say the least! This is probably the best all round bait in our area... If you ask me what my favourite bait would be, this would be it. You can catch everything on this worm, Kob, White Steenbras, Galjoen, Hottie, Blacktail, Willdeperd, Belman, Spotted gully sharks and i mean big ones(20kg plus) eagle rays, i even saw some catching a Shad on wonderworm.
    If you're not sure what to target on the day, wonderworm will make it happen. This bait is really hard to get and a lot of trouble and frustration if you're not fimilliar with it. I made this video to the guys who don't know how to start, i hope this helps!
    We collected some worm bait, and then went to the surf and put it to the test.

    Great video Victor. Where in Bettys are you allowed to dig for worm - I see there is a MPA from Stoney point to Jock se baai. Don't want any trouble. Looking forward to the galjoen season!

    awesome video. think one of my favourite bait to use in the surf is the sand clam which u would call the white mussel. caught lot of good fish with that bait. how heavy was ur sinker btw? 5oz? great demo on ur tackle gear btw

    • @saltaholic5235
      @saltaholic5235  Год назад +2

      Thanks a lot. Yeah 5 oz sinker. Rod is rated 2-6ozit mainly just for the water currents.. i want to place and keep my bait exactly at a certain spot. White mussel is a great bait aswell💪

      @@saltaholic5235 i also noticed u only did a lop cast since u were fishing in rocky areas. would u still use 30lb for casting hard with 5oz for long distances or go heavier trace?

    • @saltaholic5235
      @saltaholic5235  Год назад +1

      Yeah 100% 30lb with a FG knot to a .65mm or 70.mm is strong enough to do maximum casts. What we also do sometimes is putting on 1 and a 1/2 rod lengths of 80lb or 100lb Leader braid also with a PR of FG knot and then a meter .70mm mono leader on that..so basically 2 leaders. I normally. Do that in heavy rocky areas, 40 of 50lb going to a 6m 100lb braid leader and that going on to a .70mm. Sometimes i fish 10 to 15 sessions with that one leader i made.
