    The little stir sticks for coffee work great as well, and you can use the black ones. As well, a small bit of air injected into the plastic tip of the worm might help the worm swim nose up.

    Great vid..! For better action try pegging the last line section right in the middle between your last tube and the tail. This will give the front part more action and a better hook up ratio to the front hook. Hope it works for you..! Cheers..!

    Some great content. I especially like the o-ring idea. Now wouldn’t the added weight at the tail end interfere with the action?

    • @WorldsOkayestFisherman
      @WorldsOkayestFisherman  3 года назад +1

      No, not really. The weight is actually a very small amount of weight and it actually can help improve the action because it gives some added resistance to help the tail spring back to its original position.

    the stems are plastic so when you use up a Q tip, cut off the cotton tips and repurpose the plastic stem.

    I’m subscribing just because the Okayest name gives me a 😂. Question: If I use only one hook, why not put it at the tail instead of the head? Also, why not bury the point to reduce snags?

    • @WorldsOkayestFisherman
      @WorldsOkayestFisherman  3 года назад +2

      Glad the name made you chortle 😆. Yes you could use a single hook only and just hook it to the split ring on the tail. I was just showing the traditional way of rigging it as well as the improved way but you can change it up however you like. As far as just skin hooking the hook that would not allow the eye of the hook to line up with the front tube.

    Why not tie another hook to the end of the worm rather than a split ring? I've never caught a fish with a split ring

    • @WorldsOkayestFisherman
      @WorldsOkayestFisherman  3 года назад

      That's exactly why my rig is improved by adding the treble hook. The original rig was simply a split ring to provide something to hold the line in the worm. I agree, why only have a split ring when you can add another hook. If you were to tie another small hook back there though it would pull right out of the worm when you were working it. The split ring provides just enough resistance that it doesn't happen.

  • @darrend11
    @darrend11 3 года назад

    I like the looks of this in the water for sure...But, it seems like a lot of prep work when that worm is probably gonna get shredded with one hookset and fighting the fish - even small fish will ruin it.

    • @WorldsOkayestFisherman
      @WorldsOkayestFisherman  3 года назад +1

      Once you've done a few, it only takes about 2 minutes to set up each one. The benefit is you can set these up on leaders and have several available so if you do shred one you just tie on a new one. I have already caught fish on this rig and the stinger hook was the key to keeping the fish pinned and the worm survived for more fish. The best thing about this is if you are just having a skunk day, maybe this one technique is able to eek out a bite. Thanks for watching and your input!

  • @troyrussell177
    @troyrussell177 5 месяцев назад

    You don’t even need a split ring. You can just tie a big knot, a stick, a piece of the pen you just used.. you just need something that plays an anchor point. Split ring works best ofc but it’s not a must. It can also be another hook instead of a split ring

  • @bigtimfish01

  • @lyellclare9365
    @lyellclare9365 2 года назад

    common sense says that the tubing should be at an angle and not across the worm. This makes the line run through the tubing easily. Basic physics guys.
