Great video, great effort in the editing part too I always was more a Fatal Fury fan than a KOF guy and all this years i was much obligued to only play KOF by the lack of new games so see Fatal Fury back its like a dream come true
The editing on this video was great and the pacing of this video was also easy to follow and digest. This is just me nitpicking here, but during certain sections within the video, the bgm would often overpower your voice, which made the bgm more of a distraction rather than a complementary addition to the video. Other than that, this video was a great watch overall! Keep up the great work Kensou!
Great video I would have had no clue about SNK's developer Oda coming back to work for SNK I feel he's the bridge between Capcom and SNK which is such a good thing for the FGC.
Real Bout Fatal Fury was my first title in the series back then in the 2000's when i still had my PS1, it was surprisignly pretty fun and looked great. Since last year i picked interest in the series again and i've been trying out Fatal Fury Special with similar results. This new entrie in the series might be not only important to SNK since it's their earliest and most classic venture in the genre, but also for the community as a whole, the success of COTW could spark interest in Capcom to revive old fg ip's that have been dormant for decades now.
Much love for the history lesson I learned a lot! It'd be dope if we get network beta to help iron things out. Either way next year can't get here fast enough! I want to play this game already!
as a kof fan more than any other snk series, i can understand why fatal fury is important to snk more than kof. people dont really like stick to the ground fighting games unless its like street fighter that is one on one. most people felt overwhelmed by kof to have to learn 3 characters instead of one. and most who love more characters doesn't find stick to the ground like kof interesting though. they want all the flashy and air battle like mvc or dbz fighterz
Ayo, I can see why this video took a bit. Nice work Kensou. I personally don't if I'd end up playing but given some of the history I've learned here maybe it'd be cool to see a game like this go up against the main FGs now. And the idea of yelling busta wolf in a tournament sounds funny lol.
The quality of this video is superb! instant subscribe! And yes I feel this game is the one that will put SNK back on track! and it will follow with an excellent KOF XVI.
Great Vid definitely has me excited for a new Garou story been waiting for decades for this haven’t brought a fighting game in years but Garou has brought me back to the genre
It's kinda wild SNK made Dramatic Battle on the FIRST GAME. Street Fighter wouldn't even attempt that until Alpha 1 and it was heavily limited. I'd love to see them attempt it again. I think people would have a ton of fun cooping in a fighting game since it's so unusual.
They already mentioned in an interview that it will have rollback netcode and crossplay on release. So that won't be an issue, I just hope they run a PC beta and not just console like they did with XV.
A PC beta might not be ideal due to there being some people that crack the game and play months ahead of release. It's a slippery slope and as someone that really enjoys PC fighting games, it's a bummer to even say this tbh. But I personally want what's best for the company to thrive on release of the title so I'm willing to sacrifice that PC beta for the greater good lol.
@@ShinKensou Trust me I completely understand, I just don't want the game to have big issues on launch like it did for KOF PC version because there was no beta testing for it. I want it to be at least functional on release (have matchmaking, lobbies, etc work out the gate). Any other small issues they can fix as they go.
A someone who doesnt know NOTHING ABOUT SNK thanks for the history lesson cuz I already know this game Im gonna be COOKED ashgfhjakhgasfhf. But Im really digging the artsyle of the game for sure and I really hoped learned their lessons and the matchmaking issue from KOF15 and what you addressed. Also dont think I didnt peep the editing for this video too fam you cooked
Yeah man the artstyle is crazy rn for the game brother! And you know the vibes I'm learning this style of content these days so we cookin cookin now lol! Thx J!
I’ve always loved the SNK roster, I think their characters are badass, but I never really enjoyed the 3v3 aspect of KoF enough to grind it out This game looks really sick and all the mechanics seem to have visual distinctions that add to the gameplay, like the just guards so you can tell what’s happening clearly, I really like that
In the new game I wanna see Duck King, Andy, Tung, Mai, King, Hwai, Raiden, Ryuji, Mary, Kim, Gato, Janet!!. Maybe bring in Kim’s master Gang IL or Jhun
It might be for the best to just merge AoF into FF officially tbh. Like we can just have Ryo be Mr. Karate in this game and age up Robert/Yuri/Kasumi etc. Idk if I would say the same about Last Blade and SamSho though.
Fair enough but bear in mind that the sprite work of KoF13 nearly made SNK go bankrupt due to how much it cost to make said sprites. For what it's worth the game looks very akin to the likes of UMVC3 should it have gotten a proper sequel with it's current visuals. I think the comic book look fits perfectly for the game.
@@ShinKensou how though? They used to crank out multiple sprite based games a year during the NeoGeo, and now they can’t afford 1? And indie’s with much smaller teams, and funds are making killer sprite based games. It’s just drawing and animation. It shouldn’t be a huge difference in cost
@@drowningin sure, but the SNK that produces like 9 games a year doesn't exist like that anymore. They're under a new regime now. And that would be why we're not getting a 2D sprite style game. Now most people really forget that 13s sprites were rotoscoped 3D models that were then broken down into sprites. It took SNK each character about a year and a half to do. With respect to the craftsmanship of the indie genres sprite work, I highly doubt indie devs want to take that approach to their games. If so I feel like we'd have seen that level of detail alot more often no? SNK has already went on to state how expensive and time consuming this process was for 13 so no, they can't just run that same process in 2024 regardless. How people indulge in gaming media today? Nah, I think they're doing just fine lol. Samurai Showdown looked amazing on when it came out with it's lighting and film filter over the game was indeed chefs kiss. This title stands out on its own as it should from every current SNK title as mentioned before. I respect your opinion though and appreciate you sharing your input 🤝
@@ShinKensou right, but they don’t have to break down sprites into 8x8, or 16x16 anymore. They can literally draw each frame whole. The technology actually makes it far easier now
snk has one problem and it's about the names of the titles, many players look at the number next to the title, Fatal Fury has misleading names, just look at the history of games, all games that did not have another number next to the title or were spin-offs sold poorly, there are plenty of examples of tt2, Garou, SF x t, sf3ts(it came out close to Alpha 3) even person i know bought mk11 with console, he thought the number represented the last part, I think they should call the game Fatal Fury with a number without strange additions, like Tekken does this probably part 12? but I guess I'm not sure myself, they should reset the name and call it Fatal Fury, apart from FGC comunity no one remembers this series, 25 years have passed since the last part was released,
Interestingly enough all the FF games ARE numbered save for the SPECIAL versions of the games. Those are revisions of the previous game and serve as a refined/definitive version of the game. But I can sort of understand if that's a bit jarring but it's kind of a Japan thing it seems and it's not exclusive to the FF series. Thankfully they're calling it Fatal Fury first and foremost so fans can correlate the series. The rest is up to SNK to deliver a great gaming experience on release. Appreciate your input as it was interesting, and thanks for watching!🙏
SF6 has one of, if not _the_ , best Tutorial and Practice modes ever in a fighter. CotW absolutely needs to try to match it.

Same here! 🐺⭐
I went to play it in EVO JP. And I guarantee you that you will love it lol
The lone wolves are SO BACK
Ending was *chef kiss*
Spent a short time learning Garou and watching high level gameplay, and that was enough for me to fall in love with the game
The wolves are back in town!

I played it at EVO, it will be very good that's for sure. The question is "will people care...".
It’s got Terry from Smash Bros who’s in SF6, I’m sure there’ll be some crossover in players
Congrats on the drop! I’ve been waiting for this banger.

Looking forward to sets in City of the Wolves

I really hope they've learnt from their experience with KOF XV's matchmaking issues. Cotw released with broken matchmaking would break my heart.

The gameplay in Art of Fighting is very dated. Garou Mark of the wolves still holds up, and arguably more fun than modern fighting games.
@@ThisJUiCE you can literally say that about any old fighting game.
@@ArcChristelle MVC2, third strike, kof 98 and 02, CVS2, Garou are all 20+ years old, and nobody is saying these games are dated.
If Duck King is not in this, it would be a flop

Decent video. You forgot to mention the fatal fury spin off though but i guess its irrelevant
Remind me what that one was again? I'm curious?
@ShinKensou like i said, it's irrelevant. But since you asked, its called fatal fury premium
I just don’t like the 3D. I wish they invested in a sprite fighting game. They went from the best sprites in the industry to the most mid 3d.
