- In the fall of 2003 Mark Tremonti, Scott Phillips and Brian Marshall sent three demos to Myles Kennedy to record vocals on as a part of his audition to join Alter Bridge. "Broken Wings" was the first demo that Myles sent back which lead to the guys flying him out to Orlando on January 2nd 2004 to jam.
The band set up a rehearsal space and played together for the first time on January 4th, 2004. The content starts on the first day of Alter bridge and spans thought the entire One Day Remains album cycle.

Listen to Myles sing backup in 2001's Breakthrough by Big Wreck for his now long time pal Ian Thornley.
In August 2004 I was 25 and working at a job where I only had a 30 minute lunch break. I drove all the way across town to Walmart to buy One Day Remains and listened to it on my way back to work. By the end of Find the Real, I was hooked. 20 years and 9 shows later, I'm still one of the biggest AB fans going. My favorite memory is being on the rail at the Tulsa Fair in 2016, and Mark put a pick directly in my hand to give to my eight year old daughter beside me. Just absolute class. I love you guys.
They are a class act. Period! I LOVE THEM SOOOO MUCH. Their music is magic.
Dude, that's so awesome, and it's crazy cause when one day remains came out, I was only a month old and my dad picked up the album because he was a big creed fan and when they disbanded he was Eagar to hear what the new hype was about with alter bridge and I've listened to them growing up a little and I've grown to love all there stuff and them as people there such a superior group of gentlemen! I hope to see them one day in concert!! 🤘🤘
Also side note: I'm going to see creed this August 17th and doing the mark tremonti guitar clinic super excited!!
I went into Kmart in 2004 and had just enough money to buy one CD! 20 years later still listening to it! Much love and respect!
These guys are the most down to earth stars i've seen. Been to many shows mostly in Orlando, but one time i caught them at the revolution in Ft Lauderdale and after the show they came out around their bus and were talking to whoever wanted to talk to them. I got my picture with Mark and Myles and made my day. If you ever go to a show, find their bus and hang around, chances are they come out to talk to people, take pictures, etc.
Has it really been 20 years? That can't be, I was 14 when this came out and by 2006-7 AB had already helped me so much... then ABIII came out and then fortresses... it has really been that long huh...

2004... I was 17 and living in Iran, where even listening to rock and metal music was risky. The internet was dial-up, and we had to buy overpriced 2-hour access codes just to get a 60 KB/s connection. But that slow connection was our gateway to freedom.
One day, I stumbled upon AB and downloaded One Day Remains (yes, illegally). I'm so glad I did- They changed my life forever. Seen them live four times since. My first ever concert in Leipzig. Will never forget the feeling. Thank you for 20 years of music. You guys are my all-time favorite band 🤘❤

When Myles goes for it, it is spectacular. His normal style is excellent, but when he goes for it, it is exceptional. And the dude kills it on the guitar. Humble and compassionate.

I knew Alter Bridge from the very beginning. I was at Sala Bikini in Barcelona on June 21, 2005 with only 40 people there when the doors opened. It was magical. I have always followed and admired them ever since so much and they are still in my top 10 bands.
I remember hearing about this bands creation and was so excited. I had heard Myles in Mayfield and loved his voice. Then the sound of Mark playing. Kismet.
The most genuine and hardest working men in the business. Glad to be a witness to all of this music for this many years. And I am sure there is more to come.

Crazy to think, from that demo tape, we got all those years and amazing albums and things like the Albert Hall concert. Long live AB, long may it continue.

Love this!! Was thinking the same thing. We’ll probably get a Tremonti NA Tour next spring I imagine after Europe. Can’t wait for that too but hopefully AB tour in ‘26.

I believe each of us devoted fans has a personal story of how AB played a tremendous part in saving us from some sort of self destruction; self sabotaging, which is why we care deeply for the band members, and their fan base. We are one big AB family. The music these guys have created in the last 20 years has touched my soul on so many levels. I don’t know how they do it! I’m just so happy that they united in 2004 🙌🏻

This is pure gold! love to listen to this younger Myles, he used to sing with an awesome full voice. I know that he had to change his singing style to take care of his voice, and i still enjoy a lot, but back then he was something else

Wild to know it’s been 20 years since this album came out!! I remember seeing the music video for “Open Your Eyes” on VH1’s Top 20 countdown and being mesmerized by the ferociousness of the song. Alter Bridge is truly one of my favorite bands and your music has gotten me through a lot in my life. Congratulations on 20 years and keep rocking!
These guys have helped me through many situations with their songs. At times, I considered giving up, but when I was going through pain, my older brother introduced me to them with the song "Life Must Go On" when I was just 14 years old. Ever since, I have loved this band. Forever grateful to Alter Bridge ✊

I remember listening to this song for the first time not long after graduating high school, that was a very low point in my life but I always found peace with this song specifically, back then I didn’t think my life would ever get better… Fast forward years later I’m sitting here with my 16 day old newborn babygirl and still listening to this amazing song and very thankful for my life and what god has given me. So no matter how bad it gets people keep your strength and care for the people who are in low places in life because you don’t know what they’re going through.

I had just started Junior year of high school when One Day Remains released. I had already been a fan of Creed, so I was immediately on board for Alter Bridge. I remember thinking right from the start that the singer they found has an awesome voice, and they quickly became a favorite. I played the album on repeat for so long, even would go to bed with earbuds in. Twenty years later, I'm still a fan.

Saw these guys 3 times in Toronto. Mark Tremonti signed and played my PRS Tremonti for me at the artist session of my second show. I was very verklempt.

That first personal meeting with you became one of the key events in my life, you know, one of those moments where people talk about life "before" and "after." I'll never forget the story behind my youtube avatar, when everyone was just coming up to take pictures, and I asked if I could take a selfie, and you said, "YES, DUDE!"

Here in Brazil, the first time that Alter Bridge was played was in 2024, September / October I think, on a radio station called Brasil 2000 (unfortunately, this radio station no longer exists).
I still remember where I was and the impact that had on me!
I went to a place here in São Paulo called Galeria do Rock (a kind of multi-story gallery in downtown São Paulo that had (has) several stores selling records, clothes and accessories focused on Rock). There, I found an imported CD by One Day Remains and bought it!
I sing and play guitar (I have a PRS TREMONTI) and this album changed the 23-year-old Fabio's mind when it comes to Rock N' Roll mindset.
I went to all the shows in Brazil, the last one in August 2023 here...

One Day Remains was the first CD that I ever purchased with my own money as a kid. This song and the whole album are so crucial to my introduction to rock and heavier music.
I'm glad I got to see this guys during the "Black Bird" tour. They did play this song, it was an amazing night.

Time flies...I loved this band since the first rumors that CREED had broken up in 2003 and that they were looking for another singer...I remember being upset about the end of CREED, but extremely happy after hearing "Open Your Eyes" for the first time...I look at my CD of this album on the shelf and it seems like yesterday.
