Tracy Chapman - Fast Car. Great song! Eric Clapton is a legend with so many great songs: Tears in Heaven (about the loss of his young son) Wonderful Tonight Change the World Layla
WOW - well never heard this duet she must've been thrilled playing with Eric Clapton - I've only heard the album version with her singing but definitely like this one also. Great reaction and cool choice - keep up the good work :)
I can honestly say I have never heard s bad Tracy song ever all perfect voice production arrangement etc try for my lover. As always love your comments and channel
Gotta say I never thought I'd hear anyone say about Eric Clapton, "the other guy singing with her is Eric Clapton...and they're both very good." Wow, very good? Well, um that's got to be the understatement of understatements!! LOL! Love Tracy, she is very good. Eric Clapton is an absolute legend! On your Road to 480K, maybe check him out...
I remember hearing this song a ton when I was young. I didn't realize until hearing it again just now how blues-y it is. Gives me Stevie Ray Vaughan vibes.
Even after thirtyish years, I keep bumping into this song everywhere…not only do I hear it regularly at work (supermarket) but it’ll come on the radio or on an iTunes or Spotify mix when I’m in a friends car. Eighteen years ago I flew to Wisconsin to visit a former flame, and at the end of my stay as we got in her car to drive to the airport this song came on. I think it freaked her out, she’d long since downgraded me to friend status but I really did just want one reason. It was like someone screwing with us. 😂
Hey, I'm a new subscriber and I really like that you actually listen and put the song together. Alot of reactors don't do that. The way you do it really makes it more enjoyable. There's a song by Billy Joel called We Didn't Start the Fire. PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE DO THAT ONE!! I can almost guarantee you will love the song. The whole thing is filled with historical references from when he was born explaining that the drama, chaos and wars, have always been here... his generation "didn't start the fire" .. A GREAT video and it would be fun to watch you do that one. 😀
Such a fantastic song. Thanks for churning out the fab content dude! Your voice is so relaxing, and the audio is so crisp at a low volume I really appreciate it.
LMFAO I've heard this song sooooo many times and I always thought she said "give me one reason to steal". 🤣😂 Scrolling down RUclips like oh shit, is that what she says?
Tracy has a phenomenal voice for blues/ songs that convey a lot of emotion. Her timbre and feel for the music is one of the reasons it feels like such a vibe. The other is the groove the band is into, and how masterfully Clapton is playing little accentuating notes that add to the vibe, without adding too much noise or taking away from Tracy's vocals. Clapton's acoustic album is one of the few CDs I had when I was around 16 and was spending hundreds upon hundreds of hours in the barn working on my car. I used to just let myself fall into the groove of the music, and it definitely helped keep me relaxed while dealing with a good ol "rust belt" car... You should definitely check out more of both artists! I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
@@bradendude1414 But it's still a male. I didn't know awards from transgenders determined your gender. Last time I checked, born with an outty then your male. You're not woman because you call yourself a woman. You're born a woman. Awards don't determine that. I'm not surprised you didn't know that. Even the people they elect to the white house don't know the difference. I'm just worried about my kids future when adults that's supposed to be setting an example for our kids doesn't know the difference between a man an a woman. That really concerns me. It should concern you too
3:57 the shrug reminded me of a story about my dad when he was young. He had been given a baby chick. Unfortunately, he loved the little thing so much he squeezed it too tight and it died. Same principle here, just more metaphorical 😅 _"I don't want no one to squeeze me, They might take away my life. I just want someone to hold me..."_
I respectfully present a different take on verse 2. I think of this verse like that old song lyric, "hold on loosely and don't let go, cause if you cling too tightly you're gonna lose control." She is saying that she needs someone to hold her through the night, not squeeze her so tight that she feels like she is suffocating. Love me, don't try to control me.
I have to say, it is amazing that we are talking about Eric Clapton and can very reasonably make the argument that while his guitar added musically to the song, it took away the raw emotion and feeling we normally get from Tracy performing it alone. While I find this version very good and very different, I have to agree I prefer the solo version.
This is her song. Eric Clapton is a God, but he is not on the recording. Clearly Eric Clapton appreciated the song, but he shouldn't be on this song if you want to saver the song we all love by her. Do listen to the original. You should listen to Eric Clapton, for HIS amazing songs (of which there are many). He is a music God.
Her song?🤣 His song. Tracy is a guy and girls name and ahem ChapMAN. All woman celebrities are men. Call em what they are, be respectful. Did it ever say it was a woman?
Just subscribed - I like your content and reactions :-). Also, this is one of my favorite colabs!! Have you heard Eric Clapton and Babyface's "Change the World?" Great song.
First of all, I cannot accept watching Eric Clapton or Tracy Chapman playing guitar left handed. Secondly, why is the screen almost impossible to view? Because I love this performance so much, I have watched it on several other reactors channels and it is perfect. Good sound, perfect picture and no mirror image. If they could show it as it’s meant to be watched, why can’t you do the same?
*No. Tracy Chapman MADE me love her the first time i heard that velvet. dude .. need'd to step off. I'm sick that i even heard this. Please, if you haven't heard this or know Tracy .. find this solo brother. I promise you will be the butter on the back of grandma's stove. (he was good. not this song with this woman. no one. just ... mmmm, velvet. -imho).. thank you sir.
Dude… you’re analyzing lyrics??? Can’t your EARS pick up what’s going on? The lyrics are simple and easy to understand. The freakin MUSIC is what you should focus on. Clapton’s playing and the soulful SOUND of Tracy’s voice! A rare miss sir.
I'm a tradesperson, I've had a long week, I'm sitting here barely able to lift my frosty beverage I'm so tired. But when I saw this thumbnail, I sat straight up, said, "Oh hell yes! And with Eric Clapton? Double hell yes!". Tracy Chapman's voice, oh man, and that blues guitar, this is my happy place. Cheers to you all, MLBR fam! And you specifically, Mr. LBR.

I love the fact she doesn't appear to be packaged like so many female artists. she's just talented and an amazing story teller.
Squeeze (forceful, controlling) Vs hold (gentle, loving) is what I always got from that line...

Great duet performance from two amazing singer/musicians. Love the original, too. This one had you smiling quite a bit, glad you enjoyed it.

Tracy Chapman is amazing and every song on the self titled album is out of this world. Listen to why? Or talkn' bout a revolution.
One of my very favorites ever!
Such an amazing performance.
I've always loved this song, but I never heard this version before, live with Clapton. Now, this is a collaboration! It's even better!
She def has the BEST EVER VIBE! Once you hear Fast Car by Ms Chapman and you can’t get that song out of your head for days 😊

That Hammond B organ sound is a smack dab joy to listen to.......of course Eric C. is a musical genius and Tracy Chapman is absolutely awesome.

Please more Tracy Chapman! This song is not normally a duet. She has a lot of great solo stuff. Fast car is an amazing song.
Mama has such a great voice. Love her
Wow. Fantabulous.
Such a great song. I miss her music.
It's a man. Tracy Chapman is a man. Why do people say her? I'm confused. Just seems disrespectful everyone referring to him as a woman.
Adore this song 💜

Eric is also an older rock god.

Similar soundingness *The Script- Breakeven* or 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved'. Pretty great jams.
