    Nice work Ernie. Too bad there was no gold, but silver is always good. You just need to process a larger batch so you get more precious metals!
    Good gold hunting!
    Take care.

      @@SilvasSmallMining Thanks Bob! I have about 1000 lbs of ore I need to pick up and process. It supposed to be some decent ore. The old timer thinks there is an ounce of gold/silver mix in a ton. Talk with you soon.

    Very good 👍 I always lose weight to the atmosphere with the propane. You should think about using an electric kiln to put your cupel in and a noble gas or something to keep the oxygen off it.

    • @ErnieDionne
      @ErnieDionne  Месяц назад

      @@SV_Try_Magic Thank you! The oxygen is necessary in the cupelling process. The oxygen oxidizes the lead and when the lead is oxidized (it’s the black oily film that’s on the prill) the cupel absorbs the oxidized lead. I enjoyed your sailing expedition. That’s the way to live your life 💙💪🏻

    Next time add Soda Ash, or Sodium Hydroxide flakes, and a little more flour. SA Thins your slag, and the additional flour will reduce more Lead. Great vid.

    Depending on the rock, you can dump it while red hot into cold water and it will shatter into small chunks easily broken into dust. Just don't stand too close...

    • @ErnieDionne
      @ErnieDionne  Месяц назад

      @@gregkretchmer3588 Hi, yes, I’ve done that. Some of my friends add in 1/3 volume of white vinegar. Most times I don’t have the time to wait for the ore to dry out. My rock crusher gums up if the ore is moist so I just bypass the water. Thank you for the suggestion, I appreciate it. Take care.

      @@pmann438 Hello, you can purchase a complete furnace set up from Amazon. They carry various sizes to suit your need. Or you can do a DIY furnace if you’re up for building one. You can watch the two episodes I have on that. Let me know what you choose to do. Take care.
