My favorite band.... I'm old enough to have seen Duane play three times with the boys before he passed ..... they're the reason I play guitar today.... Dickie and Duane....learned every lick off of the live at the Fillmore East back when there was no RUclips.....just a turntable and a needle....
You are so lucky. Ive seen the post Duane and Berry Brothers probably 10 times. Been to the big house twice. My biggest regret is never having seen Duane before he died. I was only 11 when he passed and I didnt get to go to concerts until I was 15. I share your influences as Duane remains my guitar hero and is the reason I play a gold top and a 50 watt plexi.
Excellent lesson 👍👍 Please do more Southern Rock lessons. There were lots of great bands to choose from. Outlaws (one of my favs) NRPS MTB Blackfoot (highway song) etc.
Great lesson Jon! Thanks for posting this one since I have been working on this one for awhile and just gave up on it. But now I think I can actually pull this one off thanks to you! My favorite song and love the Dickey Betts guitar licks.
Just great Jon! Thanks for another great lesson on my favorite band of all-time, The Allman Brothers! Here’s wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!
@@GaryBook The pentatonic is the same pattern for major or minor scales. For example, Blue Sky is in the key of E major and its pentatonic scale starts three half steps up from the note of E. That is C#, E, F#, G#, B. In Blue Sky Dicky Betts is using the C# pentatonic scale, however, he starts the riff on the note of E.
@@vipnutrition7632 That would mean C# Minor Pentatonic and E Major Pentatonic. But you are absolutely correct, same patterns. Leslie West uses Minor & Major pentatonic scales beautifully in Mississippi Queen.

another fabulous choice thanks Jon
This was awesome, thank you very much. Would you be able to show Duane's verse licks in 'Layla"?
Would love a lead lesson on this.
Enjoy your videos very much. But, there’s always a but. Could you mention keys and scales (modes) used in solos? Thanks
Is there tab for blue sky I can purchase Jon
What *you* call the pentatonic scale? I believe it's been called that for a number of years.
🤣🤣Maybe he meant "what some people call the Dickey Betts pentatonic scale"?
Minor or Major?

you are using a telecaster for an Allman Bros song ? What the F is the matter with you ?
Lmao Tele will work just fine you can get close to lp tones with the right tweaks. Duane owned a tele btw….
Another home run hit.
