Even her speaking voice sounds divine
She’s so beautiful and so intelligent. ❤️
Tanweer Majid ditto.😄
She’s such a soft spoken but powerful artist
the thing with Jagged Little Pill, is that it was nothing like we heard before... it went off on a tangent from the main stream and what we heard daily on the radio.......and it was damn good !! so it was the perfect storm to become successful...... very rarely repeated ! and music history would simply not be the same without this album!!!
Alanis, a Canadian treasure. 👍
When that album came out in the 90s it was revolutionary nothing sounded like it at the time
She looks better then ever!
She has such talent! Thank you Canada for letting the rest of the world enjoy her music!
Her label dropped her and she became more successful ...how ironic.
Don’t ya think?
A little too ironic
A little too ironic
I certainly do think
A little too ironic
Absolutely amazing... Alanis Morissette is a legend...
I appreciated hearing that lots of artists don't know which song is the one that's going to hit.
She has aged well.
I would hit it til it broke
She’s not old that’s why she aged well. Lol
You mean amazingly
@@lj1671 😂
She's so beautiful 😍
What's Ironic, is that she didn't think Ironic would be Iconic.
I listened to Jagged Little Pill countless times and loved every song... from ‘96 to 2002. She’s a beautiful woman with amazing talent and a fantastic voice.
The songs are all still great to this day in January 2021.
Being Canadian, I remember pop star Alanis so when You Outta Know came out I was confused and thought is this the same "Never Too Hot" Alanis? Anyway congrats to her for following her gut and being authentic, it's definitely served her well.
Man, sometimes Howard really amazes me at how great of an interviewer he is
She's still adorable and that Woodstock performance was fucking great. Go watch it now. She's got soul.
She's Fantastic
Saw her twice and I still have the jlp CD 😍😍😍 I love her so much❤❤❤
Alanis is and always will be a pioneer in deep meaningful music, period.
Her determination to follow her own truth even when everyone around her was telling her not to is so inspiring. And it was thrilling to hear a shoutout to those first albums, which are such fun to listen to on gloomy days!
Listen, I was a career soldier in my 30s when Jagged Little Pill came out and I immediately fell in love with it. So if it connected with me, the diehard Rolling Stones fan, then you know why it sold so well. I was not the typical demographic for music like this, but it’s loaded with great songs. In the 1990s the music industry was blessed with so many great female singer/songwriters like Alanis, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, Sheryl Crow, Liz Phair, Ani Difranco, Jewel and Sarah McLaughlin to name a few. Don’t get me wrong, I love my rock bands, but women can write and sing on a very intimate level that most men don’t. I know that’s a stereotypical generalization but it’s just my opinion so don’t beat me up about it. As far as Ironic not being ironic all I have to say is it’s a pop song not an English essay.
Still in love with this amazing woman. Intellectually beautiful wrapped in pure beauty😍😍😍😍
jagged has those middle school mid 90s feel all the time for me. Alternative music was at its peak! Hip hop also! Good times. Gonna see her finally August 2021! Can’t wait
I saw her finally last year. Well worth the wait! Her voice is still amazing. Great artist.
And didn't need autotune on records and on stage performance.
So many great songs from that Album
Ironic was one of my favorites from jagged little pill and "You ought to know"
She aged so well. Wow!
She owned the mid 90s,great tour.Taylor Hawkins ripped it up on the kit.
KIckass, that's right, I forgot about him playing with her.
Listened to this album 24/7 when it came out! 💛
Damn I love Howard and I'm going to miss the hell out of him and the whole crew when he retires
Erndaworm whoah hold up when he retired 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Barry Obama “when he retires” probably in December of this year
We love her cause she's real !
She was huge back in the day
Ya think?
Jagged Little Pill and Tragic Kingdom are the two album from the 90s I bring up all the time. Both albums I was able to listen to from top to bottom. Most albums will have 1 or 2 duds, but not these two, every song is really good
Howard you do a fine job sometimes you're an absolute pleasure when you do interviews this way cheers
God! I still love her!! 😍
Did wonder where she suddenly disappeared to. Lover her, she’s a legend from the best era for everything the 90s.
Alanis is like a fine wine, she gets better with age.
Loved the video.
One of my favorite singers of all time 😘
So she was the original Robin Sparkles.
I had no idea alanis had a pop album like that when she was that young... I wanna hear more
Alanis is amazing. huge fan. she looks great too.
I LOVE ALANIS MORRISETTE!!!!!! AND ALL HER SONGS!!!!!
She looks GOOD ! ain't seen her in years she looks better now then a decade ago!
I saw her in my hometown! GENESEO! NEW YORK!
she's so beautiful that it hurts
That is a pretty woman.
Well spoken, articulate, and intelligent. Thinks for herself. There is a reason she didn't sell out.
Killer voice.
she looks so pretty here
I know this song by heart #xxx
She looks incredible.
Wow, lucky she put that song on the record, huge hit...so many bands want to toss a song because its not quite them and they don't really like it and it becomes their biggest hit.
Only a few albums can completely take over the whole year and define a decade
i love alanis' first two albums. they should have played "too hot", or "feel your love", or "plastic", or "real world", or "an emotion away". those were great great pop songs.
"God looks just like Alanis Morissette"
God that movie was lame.
I used to like Silent Bobs, whatever his name is, movies, i can’t stand that guy now ...
@@JunkyardKid what are the funniest movies ever what are you talkin about?
When I was growing up, this is ironic song ruled the chart globally.
So articulate.
She looks better now than before👍☺️
Lovely woman ❤
Jagged little pill was best album of its time
Still love her music!!
She was only 19 when Ironic came out? O_O
I don't know why I thought she was older.
Love her 😍
wow. what an elegant, lovely woman. isn't it ironic.
"Jagged Little Pill" was such a great album. Didn't care much for her other stuff after that.
"Thank you" is great.
Under Rug Swept
She basically rehashed Jagged Little Pill over and over again with less and less commercial success and very little critical acclaim.
maybe you just haven't listen to her other albums? I think Under Rugg Swept was amazing!
Party Boy! 🕺🎉
And then Madonna’s Maverick signed her and rest is history
The lyrics in the song "Ironic" weren't actually describing irony but a "bunch of bummers", as one person put it- that's why people still give her a hard time about it to this day. However, writing a song meant to tell people what ironic is and not knowing what it is yourself IS ironic. So ironically, the song is very much about irony in the end.
0:37 I got a Robin Sparkles vibe from that early 90s recording they played.
😍😍😍
Stunning
Lacey Nicole Chabert should play Alanis in her bio-movie.
Just found out that even in my Brazilian Portuguese we also use the equivalent to “Irony” in the same wrong way as people use it in English.
So, if you can’t call a weird twist of fate “Irony”... what do you call it?
I was about 20 when I heard ironic that sold me on her fukin awesome artist
When female artists were amazing and didnt feel the need to wear their underwear in videos to sell music....🙈
Good Lord, she is gorgeous... And what a voice!
I love her and I think Stern is such a fabulous interviewer. He cares and is so involved w the story.
She can't do that on television.
The guitar player thinking, "At this age this is where I am instead of being up front" I can hear it in his sigh.
Shes so beautiful!
she looks the same. Awesome
Glebe Highschool in Ottawa Canada.
I always thought that the ironic song was ironic because none of it was ironic so wouldn’t that be ironic?
So Dave Coulier was the ex boyfriend in the song?
Alanis gets more beautiful as she ages
She looks good
Wasn’t she on that kids show with the green slime?
How do you find her early songs before jagged little pill?
Google
An A&R guy, was afraid to fly.. he packed his suitcase, kissed his kids goodbye...
Howard, "You wouldn't have been successful", he could have said "you wouldn't have amounted to very much".
Dude, she's so hot!!
Why do you think Robin from How I Met Your Mother was a Canadian teen pop star...it was based on Alanis Morrisette!
She was "dropped" by her record label. Yet Leslie Howe who produced and co wrote and had a huge hand in her first two pop albums here in Canada (when she was signed to MCA) somehow managed to get money/ profit off of her Jagged Little Pill album. He was not her manager, so not sure what kind of deal they had from the very beginning, pre Jagged Little Pill. No one in Canada expected to hear anything from her ever again after her first two pop albums. She surprised everyone. Then again, even she did not know that JLP was going to be the mega worldwide success it turned out to be. I hated the album when it first came out. Tossed it into my closet after giving it a listen, and was pissed that I wasted 20$ on the album. Took me a long time to take the album out again and give it a relisten. In time I came to like it.
It's show-'business' not show-'friendship'. :)
Wasn't she on "You can't do that on Television" in the Mid 80's? Thought she was a teenager then.. Vanilla Ice wasn't out until 90. How was she still 14?.
...but those tunes went ...about as fast they came ..... lightning in a jar ...👍
I remember back in the 90’s she wouldn’t go on the Stern show and the only radio station in Canada that carried it (Q107) banned all her music on their station.
Isn’t it ironic?
she's infj :)))
Producerially? 😊
Glen Ballard wasn't good enough for Hanson apparently
