I really think you're such a wonderful person. You volunteer your time for others despite having to be out in such bad weather, and you go out of your way to make sure conditions are safe for people when you do your normal drain videos. I know I said it before, but I'm really glad I found your channel. :)

Of all the many channels I have subscribed to, Post 10 is the only one I ALWAYS give a thumbs up to and the only one where I watch the adverts all the way thro and usually click ‘visit advertiser’ in the hope it generates some income for him for his efforts outdoors but also his time in producing the videos. His videos are the most satisfying and relaxing and I sometimes find myself watching at 3am, stress free and content. Thanks Post 10.

Lock washers... that is why we hang onto anything that breaks and tear it down for pieces like such.
So many times have screws etc. repaired things otherwise would have been thrown out.
My wife's mother had a vibrating bouncer seat for her nephew.
I had a toggle switch from... I forget now.
I took that toggle switch and put it on the bouncer seat, it worked better than it did when they got the seat with the original switch.
Took some black tape and went full on over the wires to be absolutely sure nothing would ever happen to her nephew and then used some shrink plastic over that.
Mowers... friend of ours used to go out on cleanup and grab every one he could fit on the truck, repair them and sell/use them.
One had a rusted out hole on the side and I used a welder and some decent metal plating and put together a new side for it.
Welded up and then ground down to shape the metal, shaped and fit the new metal to the old deck.
    Sold for $25.
One we had been using for mow jobs around the neighborhood fell off the truck.
We backed up and I fired it up, worked better than it did before it fell.
Only damage was a dent to the engine housing on the very top.
Never underestimate what you have, even bits from something can come to use later.
    Shalom

Great video. Snapper, "Simplicity" snow blowers were one of the better machines back in the day. Briggs & Stratton bought the company and now Simplicity has gone by the way of Evinrude outboards. An icon for decades, now just a memory. One thing you could do to make your ventage machine get much better traction without using chains. The new aggressive snow blower tires are excellent for traction and the narrower the tire, the better the traction. Wider is not better for traction in the snow. Thanks for sharing the video.

I had an old snow blower with the same type of wheels as you have on yours, they were terrible in the snow, especially with the incline I have in my driveway. Tire chains made all the difference. Today most snow blowers have large cleat type tires which are so much better. Great job keeping that old Snapper running. Both of my snowblowers are 25 years old and running strong.

Fun fact from the UK. Although we rarely get much snow, people have mostly stopped clearing snow / ice from the pavement / sidewalk outside their homes. Why? Because over here, if someone slips on the area you cleared and injures themselves, the homeowner that cleared (most of) it is legally liable

other than needing a new governor spring and tire chains, that blower works very well! I say it needs a gov spring because it should not just idle down like that, the gov should open up, which it is not doing in this video. Still a great video! Also, the snow that sticks to everything? try spraying the augers and chute opening with cooking spray, I have done that and it helps keep the snow from sticking

The snowblower ... the _best_ -toy- invention *ever* 😉
When I was living in a house, many years ago, I would always hope for a snowy winter because I could use my snowblower. And when the forecast for heavy snowfall overnight, in the morning, I would jump out of bed like a kid on Christmas, running to the window to survey the accumulation 😉😁
    I am *so* jealous 😭😭
Tip: when there is a lot of snow, take "less of a row", so as to allow the blower to clear the chute. Going back and "re-sweeping" dregs doesn't really work.

12:00 There once was a time, not too long ago even, where most people knew that in order for things to last a long time, they had to be taken care of, to be maintained. But then came the "throw-away" cultural revolution, and it has taken such a firm hold of the world in the last few decades that nowadays, as soon as something isn't working anymore (or working right), people throw things into the trash and buy a new version of it without even WONDERING if it might be possible to do something else with it -- like repair it.
Few people know how to repair things anymore, which is not the problem. The problem is them not bringing their stuff to someone who knows how to repair it. A new carburetor for a snowblower, for example, and the installment of it, is far, far cheaper than to buy the whole thing new. But with the throw-away culture we have going on nowadays...it's far more convenient to just chuck it onto the curb in one smooth motion instead of jumping through a few hoops to have it repaired. It's a sad thing, and not something our once beautiful planet will be able to survive much longer.

Sonja, you were doing so good until that last sentence. Now don't get me wrong I'm all for recycling things and fixing what can be fixed. I also see the throw away society going on right now and I hope that mentality changes before long. It probably will when things get so bad that people can't afford to buy new things. Someone will stepup and start fixing things. This old world can and will survive anything we dump on it, The people will not. When people are no longer on this Earth it will return to the once beautiful place it once was.

The neighbors that give you dirty looks are probably cynics. Cynics usually don't believe people do things out of kindness, and think everyone wants something from them. You are so very kind to do this for them despite their looks. Good job!

When you throw the bird seed out put it into 2 piles away from each other so the birds have a chance from the squirrels getting it. Also get some SUET cakes for the birds, that pure fat in the suet is what the woodpeckers and other birds need to survive the cold when there is snow cover and no other means of getting food! :))))))))))
