So it is "bear-proof" if it takes a bear 1 hour and 3 seconds to open it ... on the first try? I have bad news for the "testers": bears not only have a good sense of smell, but they can also learn fast.

If the bear can walk off with it how is that a win for the camper?

How does it pass when only one canister barely made it? The bears were probably tired and not that interested after hitting up all the previous ones.
    FAIL

If it breaks after one hour you're just teaching the bears to be persistent.
It should not break, period, so that when they smell human belongings they learn to just ignore it.

It’s not the bear’s fault. People are the root of near all the trouble around the World

Hey Yeh People leave garbage everywhere; Everest, Space, the Moon... Mars... even on asteroids now. And if developers had their way Glacier Nation would be filled w Condos whose owners use a few times per year.

Why not use titanium canisters. Super light superman strong. That how I made all mine time capsules. I've had cars trucks John deer tractors roll over it and not a dang thing happens. It works NASA says its strong.
