it'll probably come as a surprise to no one that i love mulan and it's been one of my favorite disney movies since childhood. while i do have my qualms with disney, i was genuinely excited to hear about the live action film, which releases today, and i figured it's as good a time as any to sing this.

Imagine Mulan reversed story, it could be pretty intresting. A gentle man who doesn't want to fight or go on a war and pretends to be a woman by using high voice, wearing gowns, using Geisha make-ups and such to fit in around women.
〃Polish Pigeon 〃 and then he realizes he likes it and ends up having hard times with his family. And with no other choice, heads to the war and ends up failing many times while training.

I'm Gay and I can relate to to this song because most of my family members on my moms side are homophobic af
I don't that it is fair to call this a "trans" anthem lol I am not a trans man, but I love this version and the original because of how I connect it to the expectations my family has always had of me, as the only son and only child. I have always been determined to show them that I could honor and them and make them proud by doing things I am passionate about, and not just by living up to other people's expectations.
