I prefer the acronym CDOS. That’s Clack, Dark, Oh Shit. Then the next step is to start the Apu and listen to 1000 chimes and ecam messages for the next hour.
Awesome 😎 Here's a question for Airbus pilots or trainees out there: Are you usually gauranteed air conditioning or heating so long as the start cart or the ground power unit is hooked up (and on) or does it usually just mean you have electrical power but no conditioned or heated air? Mainly asking because in my simulation videos that I do I try to go for as much realism as possible and I usually will have the APU running for air conditioning even if external power is connected and on.
hi there, ground power unit only supplies AC electric. If you want conditioning in the cockpit/cabin you need high pressure air which can be supplied by engines, apu or a hp ground air cart. the engines are off the table of course until they are started. and in many cases airports restrict prolonged usage of APU due to noise. Airlines also avoid using APU in general to save fuel at this stage. therefore if avalabile, they use hp ground air (yellow hoses) at a cost to airport operators and delay the start of the APU. The outside air temperature and the passenger boarding also a parameter to apply whichever combination. hope this helps

Awesome again 😂. Best Instructor On Planet Earth!😃

Training. Very good rule of thumb!!!
