For everyone saying oh you can't expect a budget sub to do this or that. This sub is rated at 1050w rms. It's 2021, are we still in a place where it's unreasonable to expect our equipment to do what it says it does below a certain price point? Apparently we are as a lot of you are like "but it'll do 500w all day". That's not the point. If I'm on a budget, I am the person who can least afford to go fucking around trying not to overdrive over-rated subs. Why can't we expect companies to rate their products honestly, regardless of price?
Quality Control and getting accurate numbers from companies have gone by the wayside for countless products, across a plethora of fields, and you want to know why? Ignorant consumers. Whether we're talking about a subwoofer, a videocard for your PC, a freaking handwarmer that doubles as battery bank, or whatever... ...all customers pay attention to is whatever's rated highest and there's an instant assumption that it makes that product "the best", which is why it gets marketed as such. Marketers know that, and they're going to overhype thier products in order to get your sale, regardless of capability to produce what it's being rated for. Ironically, often times the *manufactures* of whatever product it is KNOWS what it _should_ be rated for, but thier marketing team exagerates that in order to "keep pace with" or "superceed" thier competetors. And this sad reality is brought on by greed, as the people who sell you products care more about money than they do about thier customers or thier products, yet this seemingingly neverending cycle continues because 1) accountability doesn't have repercussions the way it once did, and 2) regardless, morons still buy thier products BASED off of the claims on labels, not _actual_ performance. Just be thankful that tire and brake manufactures haven't gotten this deceptive with thier products, or there'd be people out there losing more than just some money.
@David Long buy ur subs from best buy with warranty they have about 60 subs and if u blow it no big deal 2 years later take that bitch back love best buy for this reason always get the warranty 2 or 3 years

It was really fun watching you go ham on that cheap piece of junk. All jokes aside though, I'm really glad to see you got a box to test some 15 inch subs for the channel! I've been suggesting that you test different size subs for a long time now, and I was really happy to see you get that skar test box. Sorry to hear that thing was so expensive though, $180 for a single 15? Holy crap! I think you can almost get a custom built single 15 box on ebay or from Bobby Gately for that much money! Anyway, I hope you start requesting some nice 15's to test for the channel!
Everybody who subscribes knows I've been waiting for this forever the video was perfect you started small I know you'll work your way up I love it . But how do you think it compared to the cheapest 12 you ever bought and tested
I remember ordering a pair of these to replace my JVC towers speakers after they had developed the deadly foam rot and when I received em I thought they where super light compared to shipping weight and what I got was 2 milk crates instead of 2 15s, but thankfully I got my money back from Amazon after me and customer service employee had a good laugh about it, but yeah 52lbs had turned into 2 milk create magically
Like most bass heads, max power dosent mean continuous. On the box along with how many other companies put max power all over the box. What your doing is bashing this company knowing damn well max power isnt continuous power. Try another and burp it at 2100. See if it works. Do it right. Let me guess they wouldnt give you feee stuff or sponsor you. And skar isnt going to change anything for you because your no one. You dont effect thier sells and as we can see you buy how many and they all have small wires. Keep buying thats working great
Parker I appreciate the humor good sir. The planet audio/ boss sub is a good 200-400 watt sub for the beginners or the budget builders.....400 max that is. I wish they would stop inflated numbers.
I really wanna see you do more tests on 15 inch subs I got my db 2615 D2 for 150$ on a Christmas sale and got a skar rp 1500.1D on it and it slaps I really wanna see what other 15s can do ngl I was pretty disappointed with this one it didn't seem to like the lows too much nor did it want to do even 1/2 of its rated power.
I swear on a lil amp. The planet audio subs will do the job for a beginner. And i say if alpine would just let a few companies use there H.A.M.R Patent.
That’s what planet audio is. I had some in the early 2000’s 2x10” planet audios and they where loud for what they where. I new they where cheaper so I always went 50watts under advertised rms. But they’re a decent sub for someone who wants some bump for little cash. You can have a killer 4x8 with the AC8D for dirt cheap. Just don’t skimp on the amp. Amps are crucial !!!
@@nobodyimportant5864 I don't think it's unreasonable to expect any sub, budget or not, to do it's rated rms power. It seems like what you're saying is that we should just accept that these companies massively over rate their products, and just assume anything they say is BS and it's fine and that's just the way it works. People on a budget are the people who can LEAST afford to blow a sub because of overstated power ratings.
@@LargeAlbatross Does that say RMS on it? I think that is total wattage, not RMS power for one, and people who buy that equipment usually buy A cheap amp to go with it and do not try to just blow up the equipment like he did here which I know is the point but people who buy this equipment newbies don't usually hook up a name brand 2000rms amp to a 50-70 dollar speaker, some do I know, and they find out quick and that's how they learn.
How is a "newbie" going to know that the power rating on the box is inaccurate? Let's squash the assumption that a newbie should reasonably know anything about car audio other than they need a sub, an amp, and a wiring kit. Don't say they could look it up online. The person in question buying a planet audio 15 with no RMS rating on the box isn't looking up anything. You're right, it doesn't list the RMS power anywhere on the box, and that is an even bigger problem. You've got one absolutely ridiculous max power number on the box, which in addition to being inaccurate, is essentially useless for matching the sub to an amp. Then you've got one number, which normally would be the useful one, not listed anywhere on the box, and when you do find it online, it is also wildly inaccurate. How would I buy an amp for this sub? You would use the numbers you are given, correct? In this day in age, a cheap amp rated at 2000w max power will put out enough RMS power to blow this sub very quickly. If I were to buy a planet audio amp to match the sub, rated at 2000w max and doesn't even list an rms power rating, I can tell you based on the fuses that it can likely put out more than enough power to wreck this sub. Lets even assume that as a "newbie" I somehows know what the difference between max and rms power is, which isn't a fair assumption at all. I could look up the RMS power rating online. It's 1050 watts RMS, which is just wrong and will blow the sub, so I can't use that number either. If someone can't afford to buy a decent amp, what makes you think they can afford to learn that lesson the hard way? If someone were dumb enough to try a 2000w rms amp (still inexpensive) not realizing the difference between max and rms (again, they wouldn't), how much of that is their fault, and did they deserve to learn that way? Accurate power handling ratings are important, and a standardized testing procedure and certification should be a law.
Guess you have to start somewhere with a 15. Kinda wish that you would have done more thorough testing before tosting it lol Always appreciate it letting the world know what they are wasting their mony on. Cant wait untill the next 15 review!
Your videos make me happy your living my dream keep it up! I hope everyone looking to buy this sub and a boss 4k see this video. Obviously this isn't cea rated at 1050rms like they claim.
The small voice coil was the dead giveaway. The rule of thumb I have discovered over the last 40 years or so is this: A 1" voice coil is good for 25 watts continuous. Each time you double the diameter of the voice coil, (all other thing being more or less equal), you quadruple the power handling. So a 1.5" coil is about 50 watts, a 2" coil is about 100 watts, a 3" coil is about 200 watts, 4" = 400 watts, etc.
Hey Parker a good way to extend the wiring on a scar box would be to just put butt connectors at the end of the wire and they give you so you can add the extra amount you need and I’m sure you know but connectors hold up very well that’s what I did I just got a scar box last night and had to put an extension on the wiring that came with it
Hey Parker, Totally not related to this video but What's the deal with the 4 channel Taramp you have on the wall. I saw a video that you were putting it in for a show and next I see it on the wall. Is it a good amp?
Then hes thinking "hey well darn magnet came off.. gotta put it back on.. lemme grab this cheap low budget thor hammer nd let's see if it does the trick... whoa guess it wasnt worthy enough."🤷♂️
Can you do a video on how the headway banks you have hold voltage for your amps and what they're clamping n a once over on the alternator, wiring, fuses, ECT. Please
I think these companies care more about deception and sales than performance or reliability. Its a marketing choice, for every quality sub installed there are two of these type subs. The Black Diamond 15s were 75.00,and are twice the sub.

You can tell hes had a planet audio sub before he knew the perfect attacs and everything
FREAKEN EPIC PARKER
Thank you!!!
This guy is a Nutso 😂 super entertaining tho he just made my day
If you put a thousand watt amp to it that thing would blow up less than 4 seconds
Actually, for $75 I think it performed pretty well. Feed it 500 WRMS and I reckon it’d take it all day long.
Where else can you get a 500 WRMS 15”?
Any pro audio woofer the Rockville pa woofers are cheap asf and can get very loud on low power.
I meannn... my 12 was 80 bucks and took 500 all day long so...it is a 15 so I guess ur right?
I seen it take 1545 watts for a nano second 😂
Dude you got me cracking up
I appreciate it!!
Fun ass video my boy, upload more like this one soon✌🏼
I wish they would stop inflated numbers.
haha, love it!
We need more of this content on YT, so many crap companies falsely labeling their junk to make a few quick bucks :D
Damn Parker has Thor's hammer
I swear on a lil amp. The planet audio subs will do the job for a beginner. And i say if alpine would just let a few companies use there H.A.M.R Patent.
The power acoustik from walmart is the best cheapest sub out there in my opion what are they 80 bux and take a good 800 rms
Loved this vid. Was like Whistling diesel meets subwoofers but you don’t act like a douche haha
I like how he went from being humble and trying out budget subs to being A full fledged D-bag. Ask him what he did with all those audiopipe subs lmao!
Kind of an ironic name as his video is kind of calling out a company that is "perpetrating the fraud" with extremely false advertising
@@reedcovert918 No one buys A 50 dollar sub and expects it to be anything but budget. Nobody with good sense anyway.
Parker has jokes! The cat, lol
Always new planet audio was butt cheeks
It’s Planet 🌎 Audio what did you expect 😂 I would never have bought it LMFAO
You should do the power acustik bamf 15 next
That'd be nice, I love them (v2) way better than MOJO or something like.
Hey Parker a good way to extend the wiring on a scar box would be to just put butt connectors at the end of the wire and they give you so you can add the extra amount you need and I’m sure you know but connectors hold up very well that’s what I did I just got a scar box last night and had to put an extension on the wiring that came with it
This was funny 🤣 plz make more videos like this
Damn that box looks so huge I'm so used to seeing 12s on your channel nice
Hey Parker, Totally not related to this video but What's the deal with the 4 channel Taramp you have on the wall. I saw a video that you were putting it in for a show and next I see it on the wall. Is it a good amp?
I also put a 10 gauge wire inside the scar sub box I have to go from the terminal to the speaker. As I found the 16 gauge it came with very lacking.
Soon as you slammed that box on the table I was disappointed.... It's planet audio😂👎😂😂💥
You should have sent it to PSI to get re-coned, it would be interesting to see what they can do with it
Try the Pyle power next it’s like 50 bucks probably around the same results
Yes I need to do one soon!
Love this video fam 💜
I love the part where the magnet comes off nd you kind of figure its had enough but nah not parker shoots it one more time🤣
Then hes thinking "hey well darn magnet came off.. gotta put it back on.. lemme grab this cheap low budget thor hammer nd let's see if it does the trick... whoa guess it wasnt worthy enough."🤷♂️
Hahaha!!
Aux gotta be saying what happened.😀. Wish you could try some DC audio subs one day.
Can't stop laughing 9:05🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, but remember there was a time when planet audio was very descent...
I had some of those in high school back in 07 and blew em the 1st day 😂😂 the 10s
2100 max is a once in a life time deal...literally 😂 p.s. now that’s how you remove a motor for recone 😉
Hey man I got a question how do u connect your subs if u bridge your amps. I have 2 2000 watt rms ds18 exl xx subs on 2 audiopipes apmn 2000 watt rms but I do not know how to connect the subs to the amps
When you get a new sub and break it in do you do it a specific way? Or just play it low for a few days
not bad actually for cheaper subwoofer 😅👍🏻💪🏻🔥🔥
