- Now that the polis is thriving, I need to start trying to figure out why I've been sent here. Time to be wise about things, if only there were a god that epitomized being wise...
I have been transported to an island in the sky by some unknown god. Is it a punishment? Is it a test? What can I do to escape this? Follow me as I live and thrive on an island in the sky and pay homage to the gods in an attempt to win their favor and escape. In this series I will be doing a little more role play, and a little less educational material (though it'll still be there a bit).

Love the detail of the stripped jungle logs as flooring. Its little things like that that I never think of, and adds a nice different texture. Love your reaction to Hestia's altar!

I have a suggestion, a stonecutter gives you the same amount of slabs for less stone. And they're pretty easy to make.

My favorite part is always the ancient Greek prayers! As someone with an interest in the history of polytheism in ancient Ireland (I consider myself something of a reconstructionist Irish pagan) the construction of appeals to Gods is fascinating to me. The different Celtic peoples didn't use written language themselves, so there's so much we don't know about their religious beliefs (the majority of what we know was written by outside observers). It's such a gift to have such a wealth of information about the beliefs of the ancient Greeks! This series has made me think a lot about my own practice and studies in my spare time. It might be fun for me to try and recreate some Irish megalithic sites in Minecraft, such as Brú na Bóinne! Awesome video as always! Cheers!

Yes! Thank you! I was reasonably skeptical when you promised that everyone would get an altar, that Hestia would be forgotten as she so often is, but I am very glad that you have proven me wrong today. May her fires bring you warmth and comfort no matter how far you must travel to finish these challenges set before you.

Interesting you hesitate to name one of the 'three kings', I'm curious as to the motive for it? There are lots of things I recall, but dimly, and I wasn't exactly recalling anything NOT from another RUclips group about the nature of such.
Historically the Greeks avoided his name for fear it might get his attention

I honestly thought he was fairly chill, compared to his brothers. Not big on vengeance or divine retribution for little slights. Or is that more because he knew everyone would be his eventually, and could afford to be patient in his anger?
I suspect that second one is more on the nose. Fairly chill relatively speaking, but still a fearsome god, best to play it safe. :)
